Big Finish – Jago and Litefoot Series One
Available to order from www.bigfinish.com
Series one CD a boxset with four full-cast stories – The Bloodless Soldier by Justin Richards, The Bellova Devil by Alan Barnes, The Spirit Trap by Jonathan Morris, and The Similarity Engine by Andy Lane.
Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter return in the lead roles, and the ensemble cast includes Lisa Bowerman as barmaid Ellie, Toby Longworth as Doctor Tulp and Conrad Asquith as Sergeant Quick.
Asquith appeared with Christopher and Trevor in the Doctor Who TV story The Talons of Weng-Chiang, in which Quick was a humble PC, and he is thrilled to be reprising the role on audio some 33 years later!
The Jago and Litefoot series follows directly on from the Companion Chronicle The Mahogany Murderers, and comprises four stories:
The Bloodless Soldier by Justin Richards
Directed by Lisa Bowerman
Guest cast: John Banks, Alex Lowe and Robin Bowerman
In which a group of soldiers return from duty overseas and bring a terrible evil with them…
The Bellova Devil by Alan Barnes
Directed by Lisa Bowerman
Guest cast: Stephen Thorne, Peter Silverleaf and Duncan Wisbey
In which Jago and Litefoot investigate a dead man who appears to have died before.
The Spirit Trap by Jonathan Morris
Directed by John Ainsworth
Guest cast: Janet Henfrey and Lex Shrapnel
In which Jago and Litefoot visit a psychic.
The Similarity Engine by Andy Lane
Directed by Lisa Bowerman
Guest cast: Matt Steer
In which an old enemy reveals his masterplan.
“We were absolutely delighted with our cast,” says producer David Richardson. “Christopher Benjamin is an old friend of Stephen Thorne’s and suggested him for the part, and we were excited to be employing the man who played Azal, Omega and Eldrad! Lex Shrapnel was the lead in the recent Minder remake and starred in the Thunderbirds movie, while many fans will recognize Janet Henfrey as Miss Hardaker in the Doctor Who story The Curse of Fenric.”
The box set includes a bonus fifth disc with an extensive ‘Making of’ documentary. There are interviews with all the cast and the production team, behind the scenes clips, plus exclusive extracts from the Writer’s Notes read by Lisa Bowerman.
