Dr Who Figurine Collection Special 15 Wirrn
From the most excellent sci-fi TV series in the world comes this Special Edition in the Doctor Who Figurine Collection: The Wirrn!
Landing the TARDIS in the far future, the Doctor and his friends, Sarah and Harry, arrive on a space station high above Earth where hundreds of people are asleep in cryogenic suspension. They’ve been sleeping for centuries, and the station has been boarded by something alien and hungry – the Wirrn!
The Doctor must try to defeat the alien menace before the last of humanity ends up as dinner! From the mind of writer Robert Holmes, the Wirrn were made by legendary monster-maker John Friedlander, who built the giant alien insect costumes from bamboo, fibreglass and latex.
You can find out everything that went into the creation of this substantial strange insect in our fact-packed special issue
Standing at 14.2 cm tall, we have recreated the Wirrn to specific standards, and our figurine is another essential addition to the ever-growing collection.

February 12th, 2020 - 2:46pmThe Wirrn is back in stock on the Eaglemoss Collection Shop

February 22nd, 2018 - 9:59pmPicked mine up from the local newsagent (where its reserved for me each fortnight) and was blown away by two things. Firstly, it was unbroken and in one piece! (astounding) and Secondly, it is one of the best sculpts to date. Well done Eaglemoss, you are finally getting it right!
Alvin
February 19th, 2018 - 2:38pmMy Wirrn arrived today, the figurine is amazing, fantasic sculpt with excellent paintwork, the legs feel like they are made of metal and pretty strong.
Its my favourite special 😀

February 7th, 2018 - 11:13pmThis may be a daft question and possibly one answered before but why hasn’t a figurine of Bok never been released ?
The Werewolf
February 8th, 2018 - 1:07amThey haven’t got around to it I assume. And they’ve done Azal so there’s no rush for Bok just yet.

February 6th, 2018 - 8:14pmI’m glad they did the Wirrn. so far they seem to be the most colourful Special figurines. I hope the upcoming specials will include Kroll, The Krynoid, the Krotons, Drathro the L3 robot, the Fendahl, the Mandrel, The Great One, The Silurian’s Myrka, The Vespiform, The Empress of the Racnoss, the Krillitane, The Lazarus Monster, the Pyrovile, Solomon’s Robo-oidz, The weeping angel statue of liberty and if possible The Purple Paradigm Dalek Emperor.
Gareth Pugh
February 6th, 2018 - 10:27pmYou’re in luck – the next Special is a Kroton, provisionally scheduled late June. They’ve been tweeting photos of the figurine recently – looks good!

Just wondering.
The Werewolf
January 29th, 2018 - 12:55amNo, it was not meant to be released yet, it’s due for February release, we were charged too early.

January 29th, 2018 - 10:47amHmm. The email I got in December clearly stated ‘coming next month’, and advised to contact by 5th January if you didn’t want it, so I think its more likely that the payment was taken at the right time and delivery delayed
The Werewolf
January 29th, 2018 - 1:54pmThe official release for the Wiirn is on 22nd February though.

January 29th, 2018 - 6:03pmSame as omega

January 30th, 2018 - 8:33amI had a piece of paper with the last two editions saying it would come with 118 – 119

February 6th, 2018 - 7:01pmI was refunded for this. I wasnt happy that they took payment in mid Jan, just 4 weeks after the last special (worst time of the year) then they delay dispatch by 4 weeks.

January 23rd, 2018 - 10:13amDoes it come with a tube of Super Glue?
Adrian.
January 21st, 2018 - 12:24amHave any figures ever been bubble wrapped? Do not believe Eaglemoss are that concerned.
The Werewolf
January 21st, 2018 - 1:21amIf you order from the eaglemoss webshop, yes they’re always well-packaged, but subscribers ones are not. However, I think they will make an exception for the Wirrn figurine.

January 21st, 2018 - 1:57pmActually it’s Eaglemoss first foray into a ‘Build-A-Figure’ set. This one is arriving in 15 pieces.
THE ERGON
January 19th, 2018 - 5:10pmI just hope theyve taken those measures to prevent breakages. Those legs look fragile. And i pray for a decent spray job.

January 19th, 2018 - 5:23pmI expect it will be bubble wrapped
Kevin Bunker
January 19th, 2018 - 9:37pmI was thinking that myself, great choice for a special though. 🙂
THE ERGON
January 20th, 2018 - 10:23amIf it is bubblewrapped i guess thats ironic given this particular story.Green bubblewrap please.

December 28th, 2017 - 11:27amfrom Neil Corry on twitter
120 First Doctor
121 The Monks
122 Imperial Faction Dalek
123 Eliza
124 White Robot
125 Mondasian Cybermen
126 Missy
Order is subject to change.
The Werewolf
December 28th, 2017 - 11:54amWhat a lot of Series 10 figurines there are. Some good ones there. I’m guessing the Kroton and Mandrel are between 127 and 130.
THE ERGON
December 28th, 2017 - 7:47pmThese are great though why have they clumped so many 12th doctor figurines in there? Wouldn,t it have been better to spread them out. Or is this due to the figurine popular poll?
Anonymous
December 28th, 2017 - 7:53pmNote that they aren’t just Twelfth Doctor figures, they are all from the latest series. The figures will have been designed as the episodes went out and clogged up the release schedule.
THE ERGON
December 28th, 2017 - 8:16pmwhite robot aside of course. Which is a must. adore ‘The Mind robber. Theres room for those clockwork soldiers i hope.
The Werewolf
December 28th, 2017 - 9:15pmThey did that with Series 8 as well, and probably will with Series 11.
The Werewolf
December 28th, 2017 - 9:53pmThe Clockwork Soldiers won’t be high up on the plans. With the exception of Remembrance of the Daleks which will have 4 figurines by next year, they tend not to repeat.
Gareth Pugh
December 28th, 2017 - 11:15pmIf I were a betting man, I’d speculate they might base the Missy issue around Series 8/Dark Water & Death in Heaven rather than her Series 9 and 10 appearances – there’s not much else to hang your hat on from those 2 episodes (unless they do the ‘sitting in Dark Water tanks cyber-skeletons’ or Cyber Danny, gawd forbid), whereas we’ve had Colony Sarff for Magician’s Apprentice/Witch’s Familiar and will have had Cyber patients and fully-formed Mondasian Cybermen from World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls.
THE ERGON
December 29th, 2017 - 1:14amI was thinking the very same thing about missy earlier in mary poppins garb and umbrella.
The Werewolf
January 19th, 2018 - 8:55pmThe order has now changed. It is now:
120 First Doctor
121 The Monks
122 Imperial Dalek
123 Eliza
124 White Robots
125 Silurian (1983)
126 Missy
127 Mondasian Cybermen
Mostly the same but 80s Silurian has pushed the Mondasian Cyberman back.

December 27th, 2017 - 5:40pmIssue 122 is the Imperial Dalek from “Remembrance of the Daleks”. Neil has just posted in a reply on his twitter feed.

117 omega
118 space suit zombie
119 emoji bit
120 David Bradley first doctor
125 2017 mondasian cyberman
And a truth monk is somewhere down the line
Gareth Pugh
December 27th, 2017 - 12:50pmOther (issue-number-not-yet-announced) figurines that they have recently either said or heavily hinted at, likely for 2018 include:
– a Kroton
– a White Robot (from The Mind Robber)
– a Mandrel
– Missy
– 13th Doctor (EM’s Ben tweeted on Christmas Day that we’d see her issue inside of 2018)
He’s also said not so long ago that if they got extended beyond 120 issues – which they now have – they’d have a go at Koquillion (First Doctor foe).
Also Wirrn Special coming end of January and the next premium subs ‘Rare Dalek’ is the metallic Blue New Paradigm ‘Strategist’ Dalek seen in ‘Asylum’, sent out with issues 120/121 around Easter.
The Werewolf
December 27th, 2017 - 4:26pmI’m not 100% sure but I think the Minotaur from The God Complex has been hinted at too. Correct me if I’m wrong.

December 28th, 2017 - 5:00pmMinotaur was mentioned as a potential special.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 3:00pmDidn, t you say this release was the one you most wanted Booboo? if so, now you have your wish what would you like next in line as a release?
booboo
December 24th, 2017 - 3:10pmyes its is, next for me would a Auton dummy with daffodil
be nice to know the size of the Wirrn as i think a lot of 5″ collectors may be interested in this one
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 3:15pmThe size could be an issue for a few as with aggedor which really should have been a smaller scale figurine in my view. But hey its a wirrn. The auton dummy with Daffodil for sure but also something from season 16 anytime soon.
Gareth Pugh
December 27th, 2017 - 12:54pmBooboo, the Wirrn is (according to the e-mail shot of Dec 23rd) 140mm high (whether that includes it’s hexagonal base or not, it doesn’t say). Which I reckon (at nearly 6″ tall) would put it reasonably in scale with the 5″ CO Tom Baker figures, give or take?
booboo
December 27th, 2017 - 1:10pmthat’s fairly close
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 2:50pmYes but only recently. It was only when i queried this on this site after the issue extension that i realised you could still do this. However i had issues with the yeti figurines because the first 2 they sent out were damaged in the same place. No damage or broken pieces inside the boxes. Customer services said they had issues from other customers with same item. They had someone properly inspect the 3rd item before sent and hence the airbags were in the box for this particular reorder. Why are the items loose anyway like the retail stuff and not bagged?
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 2:32pmYes i am now a subscriber but only recently so thanks to you fellas explaining the availability of late subscriptions. I wasn,t aware they took subscribers so late on. I only queried this when they extended the issue numbers. I was able to get the yeti and the first item was damaged. The next reorder was the same but had airbags inside. Pieces hadn,t broken off inside or in transit. The damage was in the ame place on both items. 3rd time around after i explained this to customer services, they had someone properly inspect before being sent out. He said they had other complaints regarding this particular item.
The Werewolf
December 24th, 2017 - 12:18pmRegarding the fragility of legs, someone mentioned it to Neil and he said he is aware and the “security of this particular figurine has been much discussed”. So hopefully, extra care will be taken with this one.
skonnos
December 24th, 2017 - 11:12amLooks great and a welcome addition after the equally fantastic WAR MACHINE. However looks like it will break/get damaged easily. I got a AGGEDOR delivered without a horn (not broken, just missing altogether and not loose in the packaging either) so I have concerns about getting an undamaged/complete one…..
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 12:47amIs Neil corry slyly keeping an eye on the Robert Harrop Releases? I only say this as he subtly makes references to Nightmare on Eden. Now aren,t Harrop planning a Mandrell release?. If so it seems a coincidence hes now planning an Eaglemoss release. Nothing wrong with competition i say and they do get the releases we want more urgently but i have to say when it comes to bigger and better monsters Harrop deliver more Quality in spades. Eaglemoss do a fine job but Harrop edge it. Maybe they should consider bigger versions.
The Werewolf
December 24th, 2017 - 1:12amEaglemoss and Harrop are aiming at different markets. That said it isn’t the first time, the Tetrap was also similar timing and Alpha Centauri, but it could be a case of great minds thinking alike.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 1:40amThey are different markets but i get the feeling its a case who releases what first?
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 1:42amAnd Eaglemoss have the advantage.
The Werewolf
December 24th, 2017 - 2:20amEaglemoss released the Sea Devil first, and the Draconian and Emaciated Master.
I prefer Eaglemoss as I subscribe and they are much cheaper. However I do wish I hadn’t missed out on the Robert Harrop Sea Devil.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 12:34pmTheres a couple on ebay if you have the funds.
Anonymous
December 24th, 2017 - 2:36pmThe BBC will “recommend” releases (you’ll also notice that there’s overlap with the Warlord range) so we end up with the same characters across the board.
Paulus
January 17th, 2018 - 1:59pmI agree, but would say Harrops are vastly better. I don’t feel there is enough quality in the Eaglemoss figures, even when size is taken into account, and the major reason I decided not to buy was the poor customer service they provide, which seems to be even worse than ever.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 12:32amI know the picture is an early prototype but i hope that they tone down the green when it is eventually released.
prototype dalek
December 23rd, 2017 - 5:39pmCant wait, neither had one of these produced so good choice

December 23rd, 2017 - 5:08pmI wound if Richard Hundrell is going to be done. I would like to see Missy done for 120.
The Werewolf
December 23rd, 2017 - 5:52pmMissy isn’t 120. David Bradley First Doctor is. Missy will likely be before 130 though
LastOfTheSonics
December 23rd, 2017 - 4:27pmThis will probably be larger than the other specials.
I’ve been told Issue 125 is an S10 Mondasian Cyberman, can anyone give me a source for this or is it just a joke?
Pip
December 23rd, 2017 - 4:35pmIt’s true, there was a photo put out. They’re also doing a David Bradley version of the first Doctor which is just ridiculous.
booboo
December 23rd, 2017 - 4:53pmvoting from hundreds of people on this site suggests otherwise
Mondasian cyberman and David Bradley were the top 2 most wanted figurines for the 12th era

December 23rd, 2017 - 8:41pmWhat’s the difference to the Classic Era and Series 10 design?

December 23rd, 2017 - 1:54pmAt last. It may not be quite the right scale but as Character didn’t make one this is a MUST buy

December 23rd, 2017 - 1:24pmThat Wirrn looks amazing! Hope the arms don’t get damaged in the post when it comes.
THE ERGON
December 23rd, 2017 - 7:29pmIf it does, demand another til they get it right. It took 3 reorders with the yeti. Trying to fob me off with broken claws. I don,t think so. Don,t they have quality control.
booboo
December 23rd, 2017 - 9:10pmperhaps its more down to the way the local delivery people handle them as it seems to be the same people all the time that get damaged ones multiple times.
not had one issue with any of mine and neither has Luke with any of the start trek ships
Anonymous
December 23rd, 2017 - 10:49pmYeah I had to send a yeti back, also I had a few daleks and figures with broken arms and that.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 12:22amI can,t see how its the delivery people as these items are packed solid with airbags and the like. Its there end thats the fault. The items aren,t broken internally. They are factory damaged which means they are sent out without regards to the customer. They should be checked beforehand. Your lucky if youve recieved perfect goods but this should apply to all customers regardless.
booboo
December 24th, 2017 - 7:36amyours are definitely packed / distributed by a different company to me then as mine never contain any packaging my magazines and figures are always just loose in the box
sounds like whoever is doing yours aren’t checking the figurines for damage before packing them.
The Werewolf
December 24th, 2017 - 12:16pmI think only the webshop sends them out with airbags and solid packaging. Subscribers just get it loose in a box.
THE ERGON
December 24th, 2017 - 12:42pmNo from Eaglemoss. The last 2 boxes’ items were separated inside but contained a couple of airbags but youre right somebody isn,t doing their job at their side.
The Werewolf
December 24th, 2017 - 1:00pmWhen you say “No from Eaglemoss”, do you mean you are a subscriber?
Anonymous
January 19th, 2018 - 6:28pmThere was defo a Quality issues with the Yeti. Ive never had a problem up until then but it took 3 attempts to get a undamaged Yeti plus so many others have mentioned it. I suspect we’ll see the same with this. To be fair eaglemoss didnt hesitate sending out replacement Yetis – but maybe thats becuase they new there were quality issues. Their packing is minimal so its no wonder the more delicate figures get damaged.
