This wave is similar to wave 2d with 3 minor variants. This wave is in the new series 6 packaging.
Please note there appears to be different batches in this wave, some coming with a flesh packet and others not
*Corroded Cyberman limb damage & shock hands and open head (The same Cyberman as in wave 2d but with shock hands and open head)
*Corroded Cyberman face damage & shock hands (The same Cyberman as in wave 1c but with shock hands)
*The Astronaut (river song)
*Eleventh Doctor with beard
*Cybermats
*Silent with open mouth & lightning effect hands (same “Grey” silent as in wave 1b but with lightening effect hands)
*Peg soldier(called peg-doll soldier on packaging front and back)

The official image for Wave 1D which includes a flesh packet however this was not included with the ones we purchased.

Recently all we’ve had is character building, and those few classic sets which I didn’t like (the seeds of Doom set with a re-used Doctor, the Image of the Fendahl set and Attack of the Cybermen sets were good but I didn’t need them).
Anyway, I hope they do get back to making figures because it is very important to me, I buy and open the figures I like and there are LOTS of figures I still want made, the Doctor in Coat, Minotaur, Handbots and Riversong from Series 6 anyone ? 😉

June 5th, 2012 - 8:19pmIt’s me again! I got my latest figure on Saturday, which was the River astronaut. I like it a lot, and the new head inside is great. I think it’s better than the Melody one, but for £10, it could have had more value for money, maybe electric hands like the Cybermen?

June 23rd, 2012 - 3:28pmI read the astronaught figure was going to have the green energy thing, on DWToys.net, but it was cancelled for whatever reason.
I dislike the astronaught figure because it just looks so tacky, the painted colours are far too bright.
Anyway, I got the really rare Riversong figure from Series 6 and it’s AMAZING, and atlast I found Idris with cubes, she had FIVE of them ! 😀

Apparently, CO do not find it profitable anymore.
They are making more money of the accessories, and character building range. 😛
They have only themselves to blame for this, who would want a figure of Uncle, really ?! Shelf warmers like Peter the Winder and Hawthorne have meant that Dr Who 5″ have stopped being sold in many toy stores.
In my country, they’ve stopped selling them in all the Smyths, tescos, asdas. Only sainsburys has them, I got the Cybermatts for 3.99 ! :O
So clearly, the business isn’t good. 🙁

June 1st, 2012 - 11:43pmI remember thinking the Doctor with Sonic Cane would have made a great figure when I saw Lets Kill Hitler for the first time.
Dissapointingly, there have been much less new figures this year.
The Doctor in his green coat they will have to make that, it’s rediculous there still isn’t a figure of that, what’s going on up there at character head quarters ?
When they do make it (that is, assuming they haven’t given up making Doctor Who figures) it will not have a removable stettson though, the stettson is sculpted on. I would like it though 😉

April 24th, 2012 - 9:31amOpened my Cyberman with chest damage and cyberhead on sunday, the left foot came off when I was trying to get the legs to move, they wouldn’t budge, that oily resin they’ve applied to make the Cyberman look rusty has made the joints stuck, so it takes a while to get them working.
And the foot popped off, I’ve tried but it simply won’t fit, so I have stuck it barely on with a little blutak in the joint.
Now I’ve got a limping chest damaged Cyberman. 😆

For the meantime just try and forget all about it, there hasn’t been anything for Series 6 5″ figures since November, it’s now almost April.
Lets keep our minds off it until autumn time, when the next Series of Dr Who is airing, hopefully they will be good enough to release more Series 6 figures by that time. ❓

March 17th, 2012 - 8:12pmI thought there would be WAY more figures after watching the second half of Series 6.
Like the Doctor in Longcoat, more Peg Dolls, and I though the Minotaur would have been an obvious choice for them to make, some Handbots and Madame Kovarian, the Doctor in Longcoat and Stettson, Dorium (or atleast his head) aswell as Amy in her red shirt and jeans.
Lower-priority figures which would be good are Amy in Pirate hat, the Siren, the Doctor with grey striped shirt and blue tie with long hair and Eyedrive (see the finale) and Headless monks. 🙁

Unfortunately they only make figures based on the TV series (or their imagination, eg the temporal sonic screwdriver 😆 ). My favourite awaited figure is the Doctor from Closing Time, they’ve made a CB minifigure but I don’t like that stuff, I want 5″ ! ❗

You know there will be an exclusive release for this 2011 Series. I keep thinking it will be a variant of the Doctor with some other character, perhaps the big minotaur, perhaps the Doctor in Longcoat with Stettson + Dorium or Gantok, perhaps even the Rory figure might be the exclusive. That would suck if they just released Rory by himself as an exclusive, it would be the worst thing they could do. Bring out a wave 3 that has Rory ! 😀

February 25th, 2012 - 6:43pmI find it wierd that character have underestimated the popularity of Dr Who’s 5″ line, there is so much demand !
They’re making fewer characters than ever, it’s very telling that out of all the Peg-Doll characters, the only one they made was the Peg-Soldier.
They must think nobody would buy the others, this is the same reason they wouldn’t make a Rory figure until recently. THey had to be forced to by Steven Moffat for crying out loud !
They should really do more, there simply hasn’t been enough characters made for Series 6 🙁

February 25th, 2012 - 7:13pmThe thing I dread the most is that CO may follow the same route as last year and have Series 6 characters in the first few Series 7 waves. Therefore we could expect Headless Monk (From Series 6) or Rory Williams (From Series 6) in waves 1 and 2 which would annoy me a lot because they would have wasted about 7-9 months not making 5 inch Doctor Who figures!

February 28th, 2012 - 11:09amYes, I dread that aswell ! That would be the worst case scenario becuase we’d probably just get the Doctor Amy and Rory we wouldn’t get to have the Minotaur, the Handbots, Headless Monk, Dorium, Gantok, the Stettson Doctor from Wedding of Riversong. 🙁
I’m not saying we would get ALL of those figures but they should make another wave for Series 6, because the next sersi of Doctor Who isn’t until autumn ! That’s ages away, plenty of time for character to make and release the figures we’ve been expecting to see, but haven’t (so far) . ❗

Look how many Series 4 and 5 we had ! There were like around 5 waves for Series 5, but this year they decided to make wave 1, 1a, 1b by just adding electric things on the Cybermen and The Silence !
Where are the Handbots? We need them cause they were in one of the most popular episodes from Series 6. Where is Kovarian? She was the main villain of S6 so we need her!

What they probably will do is when the Next series of Dr Who airs, they will release more Series 6 waves, and this will be before they have completed the figures for Series 7. Would be sensible, but they could also do the stupid thing of not bothering. ❗

Set 2a or something and it could have the Minotaur, a Handbot, Kovarian, Amy, Other Peg Dolls and the Siren. I think it’s unfair to the actors if they don’t release a figure for them. February 23rd, 2012 - 9:45amI agree with those last ones, but it’s too hopeful of you to expect them to start making figures for the Russel T Davies era which is no longer being made now, it’s the Steven Moffat era now !
Maybe they will make some more Russel-T era figures as classic releases, such as the Tritovores from Planet of the Dead and Jackson Lake would be a great figure, maybe a new David Tennant figure with more articulation ?
But for the meantime, lets just hope for soem more Series 6 figures, we need way more ! 😀

Doctor with Stetson – Just ok, would love to see him with it in long coat.
Amelia Pond – Ok.
Nephew – A little good.
Silent closed mouth – Awesome!
Silent open mouth – Excellent!!
Idris – Very good indeed!!
Uncle – Ok, but a bit of waste of time, we could have any other figure apart from him, a Handbot or Kovarian maybe??
Astronaut – Awesome!
Beardy Doctor in Straight Jacket – Good.
River Song – Very good!
Exclusive Amelia Pond – Awesome!
River Astronaut – Very good.

February 21st, 2012 - 10:39amYeah but the Doctor in beard I may have to MAKE AFEW ADJSUTMENTS to. I could easily have the bowtie painted dark navy, and the shirt I would then have to change with an art pencil, so it looks like a white shirt with big grey rectangular lines.
The actual pattern of the lines has to be done right, the grey is bigger than the white of the shirt. It has to look right ! ❗

What makes you think he won’t be a Forbidden Planet UT exclusive like the Riversong ? He might be, they could make a set.
I personally hope what they do is a thrid wave of Sereis 6 figures, I mean, why not ? They released the character building wave LONG AFTER the Series finished.
And there’s so much demand for the figures, if htey made Doctor from Closing Time, some more Pegdolls (which would justify getting hte Pegsoldier) the Handobts, and Minotaur from God Complex and some variants, I’d be satisfied. 😉

We would be much better off having a Series 6 wave. They could make it Wave 3 , and have many of these characters released.
It’s a very good idea and if they have any sense they will be working on it. Giggity. 😉

February 21st, 2012 - 1:44pmI agree, McGann is the Doctor. They could perfectly make a Wave 4 in mid-summer, if they make Wave 3 in April/May time. A third one WILL be out. That’s what I believe. And I believe Kovarian, a Handbot, the Doctor in Long Coat and a Series 6 Amy will come out. We will just have to wait and see. You never know, plans may simply change and there won’t be a wave 3.

February 19th, 2012 - 11:34amI was a fool not to have bought that figure when I first saw the Series 6 line in forbidden Planet
Instead I bought the two figures I wanted to have first, Amelia Pond and , sigh, the Docotr in Straightjacket.
Last week I went into Argos to see waht they had, it was those TWO figures I had wasted my money on forbidden Planet when I should have bought the shelf-fliers which are really popular like the 11th Doctor and that Cyberman.
Forbidden Planet don’t even have the Peg-Soldier now. 🙁
