About the set

The Vortex Edition figure set is inspired by the fourth story of the classic Doctor Who season 14, first broadcast in 1977.
With 9 pieces within, it features:

- An alternative Fourth Doctor head with different expression and hat.
- Alternative Tartan pullover and ‘Shada’ waistcoat fronts.
- Alternative hand options including a ‘wait’ hand and cupped hand.
- A packet of the Fourth Doctor sweet of choice jelly babies.
- Sonic Screwdriver accessory.
- ‘Soft goods’ fabric multi-coloured long scarf.
This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set includes a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure – the pre-assembled hips and legs.
The set is beautifully presented in an open style presentation box. Perfect for all Doctor Who fans and collectors.

October 8th, 2026 - 8:51pmIf they mean from Face of Evil, why can’t they just say from Face of Evil….?
I had to rack my brain cell to figure out which story they meant….
And didn’t he wear something virtually identical in Masque of Mandragora (1976)….?
Everyone keeps saying ‘soft goods’ about the scarf…
Is it cloth…? Very bendy plastic….?

October 8th, 2026 - 8:34pmNot a fan of the way the softgoods scarf looks…. Way too oversized and the white edges ruin any potential effect. I mean, they’ve deliberately moulded a new coat specifically so the scarf can sit BEHIND the lapels like in the show, yet every image has the scarf over them lol.
I’ve said it before, one of the things I like about the CO line is that they DON’T skimp out on softgoods, except when absolutely necessary (sea devil’s net vest, Omega’s sparkly gown). This case isn’t too bad only because they’ve already done plenty of scarfs that I assume should fit nicely behind the lapels & this wave has a lot of new tooling.
Also not sure why they’ve called this the ‘Season 14’ set, it looks more like Season 15-17 I’d say.

October 8th, 2026 - 7:32pmVery good….!
The final product looks much better than the promotional picture we’ve had up till now…
Does the waistcoat sort of tuck in under the coat….?
Although he looks good in just the shirt…

October 8th, 2026 - 7:31pmThough this set isn’t for me, I do like the use of soft goods for the 4th Doctor’s scarf. Plus, there’s just something charming about a bag of jelly babies as an accessory!
