No more Doctor Who Bif Bang Pow
No more Doctor Who Bif Bang Pow
From Bif Bang Pow…
Our license with BBC America to produce Doctor Who merchandise has expired. While we’ll miss the good Doctor, his adversaries and allies, we are excited to shift our resources to focus on an array of fantastic new items from other top brands and licensors.
Our remaining inventory can be found at www.entertainmentearth.com . No additional announced or unannounced items will be produced.
You can order any remaining products in the UK from www.forbiddenplanet.com
You can order remaining products in the USA from www.entertainmentearth.com

August 24th, 2014 - 10:17pmBBP is part of Entertainment Earth here in the USA and Entertainment Earth has become a hard company to deal with.
The biggest thing that Entertainment Earth does is sell there items to retailers at “wholesale” prices and then turn around and sell it directly to the general public at prices that the retailers cant compete with. This has caused massive amounts of retailers to stop buying from them.
Retailers dont trust them anymore so there items are not selling to retailers which decrease volume and lower volume looses the licence.

January 4th, 2014 - 7:18amWait, so this means that there will not be many more Dr Who Figures. I was so looking forward to the Yeti action figure. But can’t they get a new lisence or something. And I don’t think they have a Peter Capaldi figure yet as he hasn’t got his costume yet.

January 4th, 2014 - 7:53amNo just the Biff Bang Pow retro ones. Not the main CO Line.

January 3rd, 2014 - 7:00pmSad news indeed, but there rumblings a few months back. I was lucky to get the SDCC 1st/11th Doctor set for a reasonable price on Amazon, and with the apparent demise of the 5″ line I was looking forward to the Capaldi figure.
Fingers crossed the ‘Other Doctor’ figure shifts enough units to convince CO that a one-off Capaldi 5″ figure at least is viable. It’s been a depressing 12 months for those of us figure collectors who aren’t taken with the 3.75″ line.

January 3rd, 2014 - 5:47pmAlways a difficult one. I have found this year extremely difficult to buy everything and have had to back off; I do think there were too many licenses.
BPP at least were different. I would not have wished for them to have lost the license, as I bought everything that FP got in of theirs; just a shame that by the time it got to us that the condition was less than optimal and I was disappointed from that point of view.
I liked nearly all of their stuff; Leela didn’t quite work, and the Davros Bobble head was a bit ugly, but otherwise B+ or A-

January 4th, 2014 - 12:38amHave to agree with your comments totally, as well as those of Jaffa Cakes below & RexisnotyourDoctor above – All extremely valid points…

January 3rd, 2014 - 1:36pmIt’s a shame but I am not entirely surprised. The demand wasn’t there compared to their other licences. The second wave was delayed by over a year whilst BBP sought a smaller factory to make smaller runs of the figures, which meant an increase in price, arguably expensive for what was being produced.
I have the Fourth Doctor, The Master and Styre. They’re very charming items but the line was plagued with quality control, release and pricing issues.

January 3rd, 2014 - 11:55amWill the Bif Bang Pow! dalek still be available on Forbidden Planet now? I got my first BBP! figure at Christmas (1st doctor) and I was waiting if they were going to do a 7th doctor one…guess not.

January 3rd, 2014 - 11:58amDid you get your 1st. Doctor from FP Com online or was it in a FP store somewhere?
booboo
January 3rd, 2014 - 11:58amif they have produced enough then yes, if not then no
when a licence expires you cannot produce any more items – no even a re-run, you can only sell what exists and even then as a wholesaler there might be a time limit – retailers are not effected.

January 3rd, 2014 - 11:18amStrangely enough I don’t find this at all surprising? The figures were all excellent & I was looking forward to the rest of the series – But Bif Bang Pow! were absolutely useless in getting the merchandise out to stores! I would have happily kept on purchasing these – But they were so difficult to find here in the UK?

January 3rd, 2014 - 11:18amthe licence should if anything be extended to let the products that have been announced go on sale such as the new series line and series 5&6 of the classic line e.g. kraal, mr sin & magnis greel. also its not right that they have the peter capaldi up for order but cancel it.
i understand that the lines needs to end due to bbc america but they should let the products be released then if need be cancel the line then!
booboo
January 3rd, 2014 - 11:21amit may be nothing to do with BBC America, they might have just decided not to renew it as it was no longer viable for them

January 3rd, 2014 - 8:47amOh maaaaan, i just got into these a few months ago. I wonder if the 1st and 11th Doctors, and maybe even that Dalek, will make it to forbidden Planet?
