Doctor Who 3.75″ Emperors Guard Dalek
New 3.75″ Dalek Variant Emperors Guard Hits The Shops
With thanks to The Living Shadow
We were told it was coming – Two were found in Smyths Toys, a new (and supposedly non rare) variant – no more information available at present.
You can Search Ebay for “Rare” figures or Search Ebay for “Chase” figures.
dr who
October 21st, 2013 - 8:37pmbelieve it or not, but I believe they may make an emperor dalek if hes shown in the 50th or series 8. it really isn’t that huge and would only cost £30 to £45 and would be very popular!!!
The Mr Master
October 21st, 2013 - 8:46pmI would give ANYTHING for an emperor figure widely available not exclusive to figurine collection subscribers
The Big Friendly Button
October 21st, 2013 - 8:47pmIndeed it is a must have.
dr who
October 21st, 2013 - 8:50pmit could be £50 with john hurt and a guard dalek- from the time war (the john hurt would be different from a single figure)
The Big Friendly Button
October 21st, 2013 - 8:54pmI can see that happening.
100000BC
October 25th, 2013 - 4:54pmMaybe as another set like the TARDIS set, however they release that…?
Exterminator
October 21st, 2013 - 8:12pmThere’s a couple more of these on eBay now all priced at over £60. I’m glad I found one for £6.99!!!
booboo
October 21st, 2013 - 8:15pmits been send its on general release but i cant find them anywhere
we have the same problem with the toys r us sets, limited 1st deliveries and no website ordering are giving ebay sellers a field day
Exterminator
October 21st, 2013 - 8:29pmI’m sure as more people find them eBay will be flooded which will bring the price down.
booboo
October 21st, 2013 - 8:32pmPeople dont know that though – its not even been “officially” acknowledged by Character – there is no official image of it – not one website you can order it from.
The Big Friendly Button
October 21st, 2013 - 8:46pmThis is turning into a right old pickle, al dewar stated that they were on general release, maybe it will take a little while for them to get into the shops.
Explosive Cookie
October 20th, 2013 - 9:10pmI’m I saw Al Dewar say something like this on twitter in response to someone asking if it was a rare variant or not ‘No, its just a general release’
I hope that is still the case as I have strangely fallen in love with this dalek design after seeing it in 3.75″ and 5″…
Explosive Cookie
October 20th, 2013 - 9:11pmI’m SURE I saw*
lol I really should re-read my comments properly….
the 13th doctor
October 20th, 2013 - 7:14pmsorry but am I the only one that thinks all these variants are a complete con? im so disappointed by the whole 3.75″ its so shabby and you can clearly see no effort has gone into making them!
booboo
October 20th, 2013 - 8:06pmyet they are selling much better then the 5″ line.
we may not like it but these are toys now
The Big Friendly Button
October 20th, 2013 - 9:06pmIndeed these are aimed at the younger whoivans, and them being small does have its perks. Like they are easier to afford. Believe me i had my doubts but now I wave welcomed them with open arms.
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 9:39pm…and easier to store…
Dominic Kane
October 20th, 2013 - 10:03pmi think if they did decent series 6 figures and didn’t keep repeating them i think they would of selled well from 2011-2012
booboo
October 20th, 2013 - 10:18pmthat was the problem, they had already stopped selling, no new orders no new figures
Anonymous
October 21st, 2013 - 5:38pmYeah what were they thinking for series 6
the 13th doctor
October 21st, 2013 - 5:57pmbut the doctor figure is really bad!
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 6:53pmOoh!! Another one has been found!!!! It’s on ebay for £69.99!
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 6:56pmShould I sell one of mine?
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 6:58pmI still have one boxed, like on the photo
The Big Friendly Button
October 20th, 2013 - 6:59pmOnly if you want to, but keep in mind that this is not a chase figure.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 7:00pmIt still could be, it hasn’t been confirmed yet
The Big Friendly Button
October 20th, 2013 - 7:05pmIt was confirmed by Al Dewar on his twitter.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 7:10pmBut on the box it didn’t say ‘Guard dalek’ on the box, if they were making a new common figure they would have probably changed the box, or at least the name card
The Big Friendly Button
October 20th, 2013 - 7:22pmMaybe, but maybe it was a little addition to the series.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 7:45pmI guess…
Adam is cool
October 20th, 2013 - 10:02pmLiving shadow what does it say on the back of the box ?
The Living Shadow
October 21st, 2013 - 7:06amIt’s just the same as all the other boxes for the 3.75 inch range
dr who
October 20th, 2013 - 6:30pmHas anyone found these in places other than smyths?
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 6:48pmNo, only 2 have been found
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 6:49pm3 now, 1 more has been found on ebay for £69.99
Dalek The Supreme
October 20th, 2013 - 6:06pmI know they won’t make any new sculpts until the next wave, but even still, I might have been excited if they’d retooled the arm, but I’ll stick with getting the normal bronze Dalek or Dalek Sec. If it was a 3.75 inch sculpt for the revised Paradigm Daleks or even a damaged Asylum Dalek, I would be happy, but I’m not getting worked up for a minor variant that appeared for a minute or two in the actual episode.
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 5:41pmThere’s one on eBay.
Tardis’nt
October 20th, 2013 - 5:36pmFound this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Doctor-Who-3-75-Action-Figure-Emperors-Guard-Dalek-Rare-Variant-Black-Dome-/350905059470?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item51b392488e

Antonio Zambonini
October 20th, 2013 - 7:33pmAgree silent silent I was gonna sell looped angel on eBay but thought no point as its a rare figure so just opened it
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 3:02pmI just found a emperor guard dalek at smyths lakeside store.
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 5:38pmOpps, wrote it twice.
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 3:00pmI just found the Emperor Guard Dalek in Smyths at Lakeside in Essex.
Anonymous
October 21st, 2013 - 8:47pmHow many did they have?
Exterminator
October 22nd, 2013 - 7:52amJust the one and no normal daleks.
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
October 20th, 2013 - 11:22amWho is watching Waters of Mars on Watch? It’s the part where Andy and Tarak Flood Zombies are about to chase the Doctor and Adelaide.
The episode that terrified me the most. 😯
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
October 20th, 2013 - 7:30pmOh I’m very sorry, I thought I posted this on Ask a Question. 😳
Shane
October 20th, 2013 - 11:07amThis is strange because Smyths have no Doctor Who items in their catalogue and I have visited two of them regularly and they never have any Who stuff.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 11:13amYeah, they said they’d only got the Dr who stuff in stock on Friday
The Silent Silent
October 20th, 2013 - 1:42pmMe Local store (Charlton) Had loads last time I chacked. But when I went to lakeside, Bristol stores there were none. !!!
jordan
October 20th, 2013 - 10:55amdoes anyone think it would better if it had tht emperor`s guard dalek weapon, you know, instead of the plunger?! we need one!!
Dalek The Supreme
October 20th, 2013 - 6:07pmI would too, but I don’t think they’ll be making any new sculpts for Series 7 at all.
Mister
October 20th, 2013 - 10:05amI hope they do the Emperor Dalek. If they do, they might as well do it soon, because there are so many guard daleks now, but there isn’t an emperor(yet?).
DALEKSKITTLES
October 20th, 2013 - 9:08amI really hope forbidden planet or anther company sells it online I don’t have time to go out these days 🙁
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 10:16amI spent Friday afternoon and all of Saturday with the primary objective of looking for these figures. It would be a pain just doing that, so I tie in other things too as much as possible.
The Mr Master
October 20th, 2013 - 8:40amIs this general release or rare
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:45amNobody really knows
booboo
October 20th, 2013 - 8:52amfor all we know it could be exclusive to Smyths
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:55amThat would be cool
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 10:08amWould it? Not all Smythes stock Doctor Who – the two nearest me (one being an hour away) do not stock more than the annual. Whenever you ask them for help its “go online”. Fed up of hearing that when you go to the effort of supporting a physical shop. It is not just Smythes, it is so many shops these days.
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 10:14amThe Living Shadow – Glad you managed to get one.
All – There seems to be a trend that certain shops get certain rares. I have visited over 50 shops in the last couple of months. I have done 11 shops that stock 3.75in this weekend, with 5 others that I thought might that didn’t. Nearly all had 12+ figures in because of restocks. Most had 2 gold daleks. It would suggest that these outlets are either receiving a slightly older consignment or that Smythes has a newer case configuration.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 10:15amThey do now. My one hasn’t sold Dr who in about 2 years and they said they got all the figures and dr who stuff in stock on Friday
booboo
October 20th, 2013 - 10:19amthat’s why I’m wondering if this may be a Smyths exclusive, we will have to see if they turn up elsewhere
did they have any ordinary gold Daleks?
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 10:21amThanks. Out of interest does your one show stock online?
My one is about 9 months old, from a distance I thought it was a carpet shop to begin with. The shelf space for Doctor Who was so small that items were stored on their side. An inch, literally.
I might try it in the week then.
King Peladon
October 20th, 2013 - 10:30amHope its not exclusive to smyths i went to my nearest smyths and was told they don’t sell doctor who toys they are only available in selected stores not even online
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 10:35am@BooBoo, they didn’t have any normal gold daleks, but it could just be a coincidence as there weren’t many there and I didn’t see any ice warriors
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 10:39amFrom memory I’d say there were around:
3 Doctors
2 Claras
0 Ice warriors
4 Cybermen
2 Weeping angles
0 Daleks
2 Guard Daleks
booboo
October 20th, 2013 - 10:43amCould be a running change ie all Daleks delivered from now could be this one
just had a look at their website
you cant phone the stores direct?
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 10:44amI looked online and they don’t show the variant, I’ll contact Character and ask them if it’s rare
ParadigmDalek1325
October 20th, 2013 - 8:12amMe want it
DoctorWhoFan101
October 20th, 2013 - 9:34amParadigmDalek1325, where did you get your icon? I mean, if you made it, can you please give me a link to the original image, if not, thanks anyway.
Big Doc
October 20th, 2013 - 8:03amIf this is another variant- It will be another example of rip-off Britain on ebay
Dalek 105
October 20th, 2013 - 7:35amepic!
The Monitor
October 20th, 2013 - 6:56amI had given up on Smythes. There is a newish one between Southampton and Portsmouth, which only had one Doctor Who item on sale last year. I have just done the stock check thing and all they have is the Annual.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:08amThat’s exactly what I thought!! To be honest I only went there to maybe get and Iron man or star wars figure and then I saw that they had some Dr who stuff do I had a little look and saw these!!!
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:10amI meant ‘so’ not ‘do’
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 12:26amI hope it’s not a rare variant figure. I’m fed up with them!
Radburn
October 20th, 2013 - 1:14am…join the club!
The Big Friendly Button
October 20th, 2013 - 1:27amAl dewar stated that it is a common release.
Exterminator
October 20th, 2013 - 2:22amAlasdair Dewar makes no sense on twitter half the time.
76 Totters Lane
October 20th, 2013 - 5:14ama men to that
Dalek sec
October 20th, 2013 - 12:07amThat looks really cool.
Radburn
October 20th, 2013 - 12:04amSoon to be £50 on ebay…
Radburn
October 20th, 2013 - 8:03pmor more…
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:13pmWell, it was just sold (I think) for £70!
The Big Friendly Button
October 19th, 2013 - 11:33pmThis must be a sign that we will be getting an emparor figure.
Tardis’nt
October 20th, 2013 - 12:11amI doubt it
The Living Shadow
October 19th, 2013 - 11:22pmShould I do a review of this, so I can show the box + figure in a bit more detail?
Mr Clever
October 20th, 2013 - 1:28amyes please
I Ended the Time War
October 20th, 2013 - 1:33amYou don’t really need to. After all, it is just a bit of black paint.
The Living Shadow
October 20th, 2013 - 8:52amActually the base on the bottom is darker and the blue paint applications on the eyestalk is smaller and more accurate
I Ended the Time War
October 20th, 2013 - 12:07pmWell that’s it. Nothing you really need to go into detail about.
I Ended the Time War
October 24th, 2013 - 1:40pmThe reason it’s had a whole page is because its a new figure, the same reason it fetched the ridiculous price of £70. And anyway, it’s clear to see there are no differences packaging wise.
The Living Shadow
October 19th, 2013 - 11:20pmIt’s weird, the box is just the same as any other Dalek, even the name card is the same
Trenzalore
October 19th, 2013 - 11:06pmGreat picture!
Trenzalore
October 19th, 2013 - 11:06pmalso what does it have on the back of the packaging?
The Living Shadow
October 19th, 2013 - 11:19pmThanks, I took them, on the back it’s just the same as any other 3.75 inch Dr who figure, I’ll send a picture in tomorrow
Trenzalore
October 19th, 2013 - 11:29pmGreat!
Sebatron
October 19th, 2013 - 11:05pmNice!
