Monster Invasion Extreme – New set details

Doctor Who Monster Invasion Extreme is the second set and contains 180 new cards featuring all the latest monsters, characters and adventures from the series, and includes a new and truly terrifying lenticular infinite card. This brings a combined total of 345 cards.
Its launch coincides with issue 11 on sale 28 September 2011. Further images will be available on that date.
The second tin contains five packs of brand-new Doctor Who Monster Invasion Extreme cards and comes with an exclusive official autograph card featuring Rory’s signature by Arthur Darvill (pictured).
There will also be an official Doctor autograph card which comes free with issue 11 and an official Amy autograph card which is only available to subscribers who opt in to buy one (very limited edition, only about 5,000 being made)

We have been buying the cards by the box for around £16.00 (65p per pack) and opening them all and selling the good cards on ebay and then as soon as we hit £16.00 profit we get another box and try again.
It’s apparent that some of the Commons are rarer than the Rare’s and even Ultra Rare’s.
021 – Captain Jack and 026 – River Song are prime examples we only ever got a few each of them whereas 100 – The Astronaut has appeared 3 times in one box before.

September 12th, 2011 - 3:58pmSivertrain, I see what you mean, I got a box myself and found one river song card, but two ultra rares. (Slitheen and Weeping Angels). I then got the tin and found another weeping angels card. I then got several packs after that and still didn’t find another river song card. I think I’ve got two of Captain Jack Harkness though.

After a while buying and selling these on ebay you can definitely see a trend.
I think the problem might be that the cards aren’t always mixed up that well before being boxed.
To a certain degree they must roll off in batches.
It’s great when you get a run of Ultra Rare cards though.

The Amy card comes with the subscribtion tin, so if you ticked to box when you subscribed, you’ll get the 5 packs and the amy signed card.

But, It dosen’t matter, as we are collecting form scratch and if you get two tins, then it’s almost crtain that you’ll get one of the 5 new ultr rares. I got one in the the 1st tin and I only bought one of them (It was an eays one to get, weeping angels an dI’ve now got a double of that).

September 11th, 2011 - 8:29amYou could call them, when I called them, I asked for the tin for set 2 and they said that it may not come with my first delivery and I may have to wait till y second delivery for it. They expplained this by saying that they might still be working on it andis most probably going to be realesed with issue 11 & 12.

The adventure cards are horizontal implying it’s a portrait.
Will the other Doctors be coming to this set does anyone know?
Be good to see a John Pertwee and Colin Baker card even though they were far from my favourites.

Paul McGann wasn’t bad but the TV Movie itself was.
I would have liked to have seen him given a chance with a series but the TV Movie really sealed his fate.

One saying that Issue 11 will be sent in approx 5 weeks along with Issue 12 and with a free pack of cards and The Doctor autograph card.
The Extreme cards will be in shops from September 28th.
The other letter says that the Collectors Tin with the Subscribers Only Amy Pond Card will be sent with the next dispatch.

I got back from my holiday today and have just finished looking at all the new merchandise thats been announced. When I got to this page and I read that the signed Amy card will only be for subscribers, I decided that as I want a complete set I’ll have to subscribe. On their website when you want to subscribe, you have a series of tick the box questions. If I tick to recieve the tins, will they send me the first one again, because I have already bought it? They seemed to have taken 5.20 out of my bank account for the 2 mags this month – so must be doing something. I emailed [email protected] as they said in my first email when i signed up to ask any questions through that email.

September 1st, 2011 - 5:22pmHeard anything back yet. I haven’t. I did email them about something completely different last week and they got back to me two days later and were great at sorting the issue at the time out.
They must be really really busy those, have heard alot of people still waiting for binders and things. We just got to wait i suppose.

September 3rd, 2011 - 11:03amI haven’t heard anything back – but on the positive side my first set of mags turned up this morning along with 4 extra packs of cards. They were all swaps expect for one – the fish custard one.
