My genesis dalek is pants. badly painted splodge on the back and as mentioned the head is off centre looks terrible . Got it mail order and popped in a Forbidden Planet branch and the one on show looks the same. Wasn’t it obvious when the did quality control? Cant be bothered trying to return it but cant sell it on ebay with the wonky head. Not worth any money

don’t understand the logic of not returning something that’s Β£60 if you are not happy with it, “trying” doesn’t come into it.

If bought on-line you are entitled to return it within a set time and get your money back full stop, even if you just don’t want it.

i never started to collect this line so no, shame these should have been so good although i have read a few people being happy with them and i know people who have had problems tend post more than those who dont on this type of thing.

I Got Both of these daleks, never collected any of the other busts but liked the look of the Daleks. The gold ones head has the off centre issues but the grey Genesis one is good, not perfect but im happy with it . I dont notice the gold ones head just displayed on the shelf but definitely when you try and rotate it in any way its bad. I dont have any paint issues.

A lot of money to pay if youre not happy with something….. I’m disappointed if i get an eaglemoss figure which is below par and they cost a fraction of one of these…..

Very disappointed in these. Genesis one has bubbled paint around the waist band which has partly come off, head not central and the base is glued a bit wonkey onto the skirt. And the gold dalek is more of a washed out look, but only the head is a problem on this. Don’t get why as have a few others of these doctors and cabernet and they are of good quality.

The guns are broken on both my Daleks. Very poor quality control. The gun should have been plastic.

I liked that they are metal, not good that you got damaged stock but when you do get a replacement, I’m sure you’ll be happy with the end product…, I love these Dalek’s. πŸ™‚

    Finally got mine. Disappointed.
The netting behind the slats is grey, not silver as shown on on all publicity photos and even on the box.
Have I got an unfinished one or are they all like this?

I just thought I should point out that this is a Genesis Dalek so it should have grey netting behind the slats (armour)…, the silver is actually an error but later Dalek’s had it.

Yes slats are grey on the Genesis Dalek.
Mine came with the gun in bits. A bit poor considering the price.

Are you actually serious? This isn’t a toy or anything, it is a serious collector’s piece. It is well worth the price tag considering the detail it involves.

Would you pay 50Β£’s for 8 inches of gold? Some coin collectors pay millions for coins. Some stamp collectors pay millions for a stamp. Both those are smaller than 8 inches. If you are a serious collector this is well worth the money when you know what went in to make it. For a true collector these are brilliant

BTW is this the same company that did the 2nd Doctor statue ? ❓

Its funny cause the figures and statues look better than the Dalek props in the actual episode

Can the head rotate and can the eye stock move up and down?

The head does rotate, but the pivot is slightly off centre so in some positions the head is out of line with the body. I have just received the grey ‘Genesis’ and the gold ‘Day of’ Daleks and they are both the same. Forbidden Planet are ‘looking into it’ for me. Not great when you consider the price, but it’s not too bad. The eye stalk is a separate piece and can positioned at whatever angle you like.

Yeah, I’m back as King of…. Oh… the Cybermen. Well that’ll be fine. I’m still me, just my name has regenerated! Oh and who thinks the Dalek is good and how much would you rate it? As I said, I rate it 7/10, and one of the reasons is we Cybermen are enemies of the Daleks so we want to delete them. So that question was for all of you. Please please please answer or you will be upgraded. Just joking but please answer.
    Thanks,
