This looks fantastic. I personally would like to see a Zarbi, a WOTAN War Machine, a Wirrn and the Face of Boe as specials.

A Zarbi, and probably a Wiirn too, is small enough to be a regular figurine and should not be a special.

    • Doctor Rules

      April 8th, 2015 - 6:55pm

Really? I think the Wirrn and Zarbi are huge. In The Ark on Space a Wirrn is nearly as tall as The TARDIS

    • The Werewolf

      April 8th, 2015 - 7:06pm

Size comparison-wise think how tall the Silence model is for example. They would make for fairly bulky regular figurines but still fit on the right base size but would look small as specials.

      April 8th, 2015 - 8:37pm

Yeah I suppose so. Well all in all, I would love to see a Wirrn or a Zarbi, regular or special however the package comes 😀

War Machine is an excellent choice… Drashig, Shrivenzale, Kroll

Ooh, a Drashig would be nice.

    • Doctor Rules

yes Kroll would be excellent. I would be chuffed to bits if they did the Weed Creature from Fury from the Deep!

    • The Werewolf

      April 9th, 2015 - 11:54am

I’m not sure Kroll would work well given the shape of him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried.

I built a scale replica of the emperor recent and whilst my measurements weren’t perfect either I have to say the head on this render looks a little bit squat and not tall enough

Here is mine if anyone is interested

The one thing that I am wondering about the Beast is if it has it’s arms outstretched, how big will the packaging have to be? The only reason I was thinking about that is because surely the bigger the packaging, the more likely it is for something to snap off (eg. the arms). But apart from that random concern, I am really exited for these amazing figurines!

How can the inclusion of companions ‘ spoil ‘ the collection ??? It’s ” The Doctor Who Figurine Collection ” ; not ” The Doctor Who Monsters Only Collection ” ; isn’t it ?
The companions since the Hartnell days have been an integral part of the show & it’s stories thus IMO they deserve representation of some sort . a Subset collection like the one Eaglemoss did for DC’s. ” Blackest Night ” set would allow inclusion of companions whilst leaving the main collection to continue as per norm. Allowing the ‘ purchasers ‘ the choice to buy the companions or not. Eaglemoss will at some point make them whether you like it or not — profit rules & Eaglemoss won’t turn down the chance to make money . That is fact.

Because theres a mass of excellent aliens which need to be done and they usually at least turn out looking like the character they represent…..the Doctors barely look like who theyre supposed to be but can be at least recognized as part of a display…the companions however will be simply human figures who in the end could be anyone….The Brigadier might be recognizable by virtue of his uniform Jamie by his kilt but thats about it…who wants companions anyway when there are masses of untouched monsters to be produced and at the outset they said it was going to be a celebration of 50 years worth of drs and aliens…..Id rather see every last fish person, taran wood beast and aridian before any of the companions except of course Kamelion which stands alone as an intriguing alien android…..

      April 7th, 2015 - 3:51pm

One of the other sources of confusion is that one of the descriptions said that the collection “includes the Doctor and his enemies” of course all that does is include Doctors and enemies, it doesn’t exclude things as some seem to think.

    • The Werewolf

I’m also hoping the 8th Doctor Paul McGann fig will be made in his. ‘Night of the Dr ‘ aattire as opposed to his TV Movie costume but to be honest I would be happy with either one.
Hopefully it won’t be long til we get some companion figs like Ace / Leela etc.

I thought it had been stated that the series would contain no companions

    • Anonymous

      April 7th, 2015 - 2:24am

No, it had been stated the series does not currently contain any companions, which you can see if you look at the collection.

They have also stated that the collection may contain companions in future should the get an extension past 80 issues, but those against them tend to ignore that point to suit their claims (which is why you probably haven’t heard about it, because many people conveniently ignore it).

    • Martin Fahey

Glad I asked Ben to post the figs 50 – 55 but wasn’t expecting to see The Beast or Evil of the Daleks Emperor Dalek Specials . • The Werewolf

      April 6th, 2015 - 6:40pm

Very friendly editors, not something that people generally think of about editors.

Good surprises are good, but I expect the only ones not to be announced early will be the ones that they don’t expect to sell well anyway.

    • Anonymous

      April 7th, 2015 - 4:17pm

I suspect they’ll be waiting for the figurines to be ready in some form before they start announcing so they can give us an idea what they look like. Look at the announcement we just had, everything is into development but most is in the early stages (they haven’t even been able to locate a picture of the Supreme Council Member figurine or at least its renders, although they know they exist somewhere).

They’ll probably have the collection mapped out firmly everything up to about issue 65, with only a rough idea what things will be like after that (I’m saying 65, because 66 would be exactly one year after issue 40 which contained the first 2014 character figure, so 66 would be rough placement for a minimum for the first 2015 character figure).

    • The Werewolf

      April 6th, 2015 - 2:48pm

The Eleventh Doctor figurine suits him as he never felt like a real Doctor so neither does his figurine. Works for me.

    • Funko pop crazy Ross

      April 6th, 2015 - 6:38pm

“never felt like a real Doctor” you’re hardly being serious are you? That’s like if I said that McGann “never felt like a real Doctor” because he only had an episode and a minisode. You are very insulting.

    • The Werewolf

      April 6th, 2015 - 6:48pm

Paul McGann felt more like the Doctor in five minutes than Matt Smith did in half his entire run. I’m not trying to be insulting but Smith always felt like someone else pretending to be the Doctor and not very convincingly imo. Though I think it was the writing more than the acting.

    • Funko pop crazy Ross

      April 6th, 2015 - 6:59pm

How could he be seen as someone else pretending to be the Doctor, each incarnation is quite different from the last. You don’t see people going around and saying Capaldi is just another Tom Baker wannabe and is trying too hard, because he isn’t- I think it’s wrong that you would think that. Obviously a tennant fangirl still not coping with his regeneration into Smith very well is all I can say…

    • The Werewolf

      April 6th, 2015 - 7:01pm

I like Eccleston, Pertwee Tom Baker, Troughton and McGann more than Tennant who had a terrible regeneration, but at least he felt like the Doctor.
