Dr Who Figurine Collection Special #29 The Gravis
The Gravis, a cockroach-like creature that is capable of controlling an entire colony, is the terrifying Special Edition figurine joining the Doctor Who Figurine Collection.
The cunning leader of the slug-like Tractators from Doctor Who, the Gravis was the only intelligent member of his species – controlling the others like insect drones. Concealed beneath the surface of the planet Frontios, the Doctor Who Tractators used their psychic control over gravity to attack and terrify the human colonists, dragging them below the surface to act as living components in their machines.
Only the Doctor’s arrival turned the tide, revealing the truth behind “the hungry earth.” Yet the Gravis was not to be underestimated. Even as one of the Doctor Who Tractators, its mental powers were sufficient to do what few have managed… destroy the TARDIS itself!

March 7th, 2022 - 6:04pmMy replacement arrived today, intact and overall better paint quality, much happier. Good customer service too from Eaglemoss in the end!

March 7th, 2022 - 6:23pmDid you have to send the original back Tim or have you now a duplicate you could sell on eBay?
TimelordTim
March 7th, 2022 - 6:26pmI have a duplicate Coleman. But I’ll be painting the antennae and giving it to my mum’s collection.
Coleman
March 7th, 2022 - 6:49pmVery good Tim.

March 2nd, 2022 - 11:16amwill the sea devil from the legend of the sea devils be a figurine at sometime latest version
TimelordTim
February 28th, 2022 - 2:46pmSuch a shame! We wait quite a while for this, and when it finally arrives it hasn’t been tied into the box properly and moves around during transit causing a lot of the paint on the antennae to chip off. Complaint email sent to Eaglemoss! I have asked for a replacement, but given some of the comments around Eaglemoss recently I don’t hold out much hope for a response.
Coleman
February 28th, 2022 - 3:03pmI understand your feelings Tim.
But considering how good your painting skills are, I thought you might have tackled this.
TimelordTim
February 28th, 2022 - 3:23pmI will if I don’t get much of a response from them Coleman.
Given the cost and wait for the item I will try Eaglemoss first as it’s their responsibility to provide the quality they promise.
But if I hit a brick wall with them, then I will certainly get the paints out.

February 27th, 2022 - 6:14pmDidn’t you fancy the Harrops one Tom?
Popplewick
March 5th, 2022 - 11:58amEaglemoss’s is like a ‘mini’ Harrops.

February 25th, 2022 - 9:11pmi wonder when the servo robot figurine will be available
The Ergon
February 25th, 2022 - 11:36pmDid you order from FP bob? their deliveries for the singles have been quicker of late. At a guess i,d say the Junk console would be next in line for delivery but i,d like the servo to put in an appearance at about the same time..

February 25th, 2022 - 7:58pmLovely figurine but one gripe. Are they all hollow moulds from now on? I notice somebody bought a mega K-9 which was hollow and arrived broken. I remember a time when the pieces were entire resin and had more weight. I,m sure theres cost cutting to consider but this leaves them open to more precarious breakage.
booboo
February 25th, 2022 - 8:25pmmy k9 was hollow from day one along with the daleks
Ricky
February 25th, 2022 - 8:37pmIm sure the larger mega editions have never been made as a solid piece? From the size of them and the resins used that would make them ridiculously heavy and they are heavy enough as they are.
The ergon
February 25th, 2022 - 10:22pmWhat im trying to say is,are all these smaller specials henceforth going to be hollow unlike the previous? I dont buy the megas anyway.
Coleman
February 25th, 2022 - 10:25pmYeah, I’m sure the Specials used to be solid Resin. I remember my First TARDIS (01) weighing a Ton. It must have been solid.
The Werewolf
February 25th, 2022 - 7:53pmMy issues 210,211 and Gravis came today. Had they come when everyone else got theirs the box could have gone in the recycling bins which were collected today, but alas. Pleased to have them now, nice end to the week. Been buying lots of other Doctor Who off ebay recently as well so there’s that coming soo too some of it still.

February 25th, 2022 - 6:20pmJust been delivered and another cracking figurine I think! From one of my favourite Fifth Doctor stories where Peter Davison really came into his own
I know some are complaining this shouldn’t have been a special but I think it works really well in the larger scale. For me the base works a bit better than the Harrops version too.
The Flying Shark
February 25th, 2022 - 7:14pmI very much agree, it wouldn’t have been done justice in the smaller scale and it’s a marvellous figurine
Chris Howarth
February 28th, 2022 - 10:05amBut the point people are making is that it’s not in scale with the rest of the collection. I have my Davison figurines on the same shelf and it sticks out like a sore thumb. In fact I’ll have to move it as it looks like it’s from a completely different range.
The ergon
February 28th, 2022 - 1:10pmJust put specials separate. Job done. Either that or stand it next to a character davison. Thats in scale. It is what it is but its a very fine piece. Dont let OCD take over for something so trivial.
