Doctor Who The Lost Stories 6.2 The Doomsday Contract

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com.

Earth – a small, insignificant planet. Entirely devoid of intelligent life.

At least that’s according to the legal documents. The Doctor, Romana and K9 find themselves at the centre of a most unusual trial.

An intergalactic corporation wants to bulldoze the planet for a development project. Only a previous court’s preservation document is standing in their way. The Doctor has been summoned as an expert witness. If he can prove Earth contains intelligent life, the whole world will be saved.

But with a fortune at stake… it was never going to be that simple.

Since this is based on an old script, hopefully we can finally have a story where Romana 2 is finally allowed to show positive emotions.

Sounds like Doctor Who Vogons to me, but smarter.

Out of the two lost stories being released, I think I prefer this one

Reading the synopsis though, this seems a bit of a strange one. An intergalactic corporation bulldozing Earth for a development project and therefore the Dr trying to save Earth.
Just using abit of commen sense, since space is so vast wouldnt it be easier to go round it?

This has similarities to the first episode of ‘Hitchhikers’ with the intergalactic bypass which i think Mr. Croot is referring with the Vogons reference.

Like Tom Baker stories, always thought of him as my Doctor.
(Even though it was actually Jon Pertwee, remember watching Jon for years and years before Tom even came on the scene)
