    @Rex F (Anthony)

    Couldn’t a new logo be created. Or did you have to use the current logo for these?

      I’m not Rex F, promise! I only post under my own name.

      The assets for these had the old McGann / Jodie logos on, yes. We were asked to switch out to the one used.

      I have no connections to Forbidden Planet. Although I do live on a planet and there things I’m forbidden from doing. (Pesky laws.)

    Making a comeback, eh? Just saw that someone found one of the old metal poster versions of these at a charity shop/thrift store recently.

    “ Doctor Who pays tribute to some of your favourite comic strip covers!”

    It is meant to be obvious what the famous comic covers are?

      I can see that one has hints of Detective Comics #27 in the red masthead, but beyond that…

      I also get the feeling that someone was really hoping that they wouldn’t be made to use the current DW logo.

      The Capaldi one is an homage to Giant Size X-Men.

      The Davison one is an homage to Steranko’s Nick Fury covers. Can’t remember the specific issue.
