April 8th, 2020 - 2:05pmGot it in Tesco Aberdare this morning and have already made the diorama. Quite tricky to cut out console and chair but it looks great on my bookshelf with my 5″ Talons 4th Doctor, Harry and the Brigadier (even though they weren’t around at that point!)

April 5th, 2020 - 7:00pmFor anybody who doesn’t want to venture out to buy this or didn’t get this as a new subscriber I note that Forbidden Planet are advertising this for sale online as an individual purchase. I ordered from there last week when it said they expecting them on 5th April although that’s today ( a Sunday) so might be a bit later. Hope this helps.
Another disappointed subscriber
April 5th, 2020 - 11:00amYes I didn’t get mine like others gutted they should have fulfilled subscription orders first before supplying retailers as it would appear they have been available in the supermarkets & WH Smith and yet many didn’t receive them through the letter box.
Very bad after being promised a copy as a new subscriber but even worse for long term subscribers who didn’t receive there’s either ?.

April 3rd, 2020 - 9:23amDoes anyone know if it has reached any northern Ireland stores yet?

April 2nd, 2020 - 2:00pmFinally subscribed and very glad I did because this is a stunning issue!
As a Fourth Doctor fan I was always going to be pleased but this is fantastic. The poster magazine is just wonderful and so redolent of those 70’s ones. The diorama, poster and cards are lovely imaginative extras. All that and great content too!
All this and a lovely illustrated cover and nice paper stock too!
Well done and thanks to everyone at DWM for a brilliant edition.

April 2nd, 2020 - 8:58pmMy subscription copy arrived at 4:30pm this afternoon which was a nice surprise. I’ve not been the biggest fan of the magazine in the last year or so, but I think we should all get behind DWM, especially at the moment. Found out today that a sports related magazine I’ve read for 31 years since issue 1 is finishing. Nothing lasts forever…

One of the most impressive issues in years.

April 2nd, 2020 - 7:46pmManaged to find it in digital form for free on the internet. Also, the next issue will have an article on the Doctor Who Lockdown rewatches, a tribute to David Collings and the Fact of Fiction will explore the Caves of Androzani. I’ve just received that little preview from DWM in my inbox (I love being a subscriber except for the times when DWM is delayed)…

March 24th, 2020 - 3:33pmI hope this could be the start of Doctor Who Magazine doing Diorama Specials every now and then. Especially with Series 13 not on air til Autumn 2021.
Gives me a reason to buy the magazine again.

March 24th, 2020 - 3:24pmWill long term subscribers get this version of the magazine or do we have to order it again?

March 24th, 2020 - 9:08pmThey say on Twitter that it is the same version for subscribers, yes.

March 24th, 2020 - 2:52pmBe prepared for distribution delays, various magazines and TV listing magazines have been delayed today. It’s just the way things will be for a while. All future books, CDs and DVD or bluray could also be delayed or possibly temporarily cancelled so be prepared for disappointment in the coming months

booboo
March 24th, 2020 - 11:09ami don’t, Wh Smiths are classed as newsagents so can open (for now) but not sure on supplies
Jaykeys22
March 24th, 2020 - 12:50pmI wouldn’t worry too much, as long as it is being distributed and you get it from a local supermarket/newsagent shop, you should be able to get it. Haven’t heard of any magazines not publishing at moment.
SamWho
March 24th, 2020 - 1:55pmI’m sure if there are any problems they might keep the issue on sale for longer till after it’s safe and maybe sell it online or something
Mrs Croot
March 24th, 2020 - 10:38amDo we deserve this? Has god recognised us as pure Doctor Who fans. This is heaven!

March 24th, 2020 - 8:41amShame the Tardis backdrop is not the classic console room would have got this not the horrible wooden one!
Michael Parsons
March 24th, 2020 - 7:12amregarding one of the comments above regarding how is this latest issue going to be obtained last night new measure were introduced and is going to affect the way we can get to a shop my local news agent is open so next Thursday should be ok as the prime minister said you can have a walk and my getting to a news agent requires a 4 mile walk i am also out of work and getting my money from a post office is going to be difficult so these issues once were simplistic are now a major issue michael parsons
Timelord63
March 24th, 2020 - 9:07amA lot of people will have to subscribe now as it looks like WHSmiths have shut in light of yesterdays news
booboo
March 24th, 2020 - 9:23amnot sure on that, newsagents if they are classed as that apparently can open and are on the list as can the post office many of which are inside wh smiths stores now.
maybe today some one will say if their stores are open.
The Ergon
March 24th, 2020 - 10:43amYou should beable still pick up from your local supermarket even with the restrictions of a essentials once a week shop.

March 24th, 2020 - 6:26amI love the magazine and the classic series but…. come on… series 12 just aired, Jodie is our current Doctor, can we please talk about the current era for a bit. Interviews and thought pieces and the like. I don’t really like the fact we are going straight back to the classic era when series 12 has a lot of potential for interviews and the like.
SamWho
March 24th, 2020 - 8:05amYes this is a great shame they didn’t really do it with series 11 too after it aired they don’t seem to be able to interview the current people like they used to only short bits here and there
It makes sense to do something special for issue 550 & it looks awesome I love it but why not the series 12 version of these things
MJS
March 24th, 2020 - 10:25amBecause the next big event is the release.of season 14 on blu ray. It’s gearing everyone up for that.
The Flying Shark
March 24th, 2020 - 3:13pmI agree, I adore this era but simultaneously, we’ve just had a new series and all they’ve done with it in terms of features is interviews with Sacha and Jo. What about new interviews with the main cast, some set reports, other minor cast members like the lone Cyberman or a new John Barrowman interview? Maybe they could even do the fact of fiction on a new episkde, even though admittedly I like to wait a couple of years before a current Doctor’s stories are archived in this way? Season 14 has been in DWM lots of times. How about letting the new stuff be appreciated?
Totalbritish25
March 24th, 2020 - 3:10amHow am I going to be able to get this cause ever store that would carry this is closed except Tesco this should really be available online by it self and not in a subscription cause going to the store to get this is not going to be possible with the new lockdowns
J45ON96
March 24th, 2020 - 8:22amThat’s all up to the publisher. To be 100% honest, I’d recommend subscribing, particularly to support the magazine during the times like this where people can’t get it from the shops.
Totalbritish25
March 24th, 2020 - 9:31amI would but when you don’t really have the fund to for 6 issues the one of in a while is what I like, like this one
J45ON96
March 24th, 2020 - 11:12amIt’s just unfortunate timing, really, then. It’s not a priority purchase, to be completely realistic.
Anonymous
March 24th, 2020 - 2:19amokay, but why are they celebrating 1976 but including a 1977 style poster? make it make sense.
J45ON96
March 24th, 2020 - 8:19amIt’s discussing the upcoming Blu-ray release of Season 14, the 1976-1977 broadcast season, which was mainly shot in 1976. Much easier for the sake of brevity to refer to the subject matter in as short as possible terms, especially on the cover.
Anonymous
March 24th, 2020 - 1:11amBad timing. Unless your a subscriber
J45ON96
March 24th, 2020 - 8:24amNot a lot they can do about that, to be honest. They have a release schedule, and most likely had this issue prepped and either set for delivery, or already sent out to newsagents for this week. It’s unfortunate, but plenty of other places, companies, magazines, etc. are in the same position.
Anonymous
March 23rd, 2020 - 11:35pmDo you know if after 6 months of the subscription you can cancel so all you pay is £32.50 for the 6 issues and the specials
J45ON96
March 24th, 2020 - 8:25amYes, of course. You go onto the account and end the subscription, you can do it anytime after you take it out, so it doesn’t automatically renew
Fezmeister
March 24th, 2020 - 9:14amThe ad DWM tweeted says that the minimum subscription period is one year, indicating there’s two £32.50 payments to be made.
Anonymous
March 23rd, 2020 - 11:24pmWith everything that is going on at the moment. People will have to wait for WH Smith to reopen. That also includes the new paperback version of Tom Baker’s doctor who book. All this will blow over soon, if people would think, what would The Doctor do.
Doctor Mysterio
March 23rd, 2020 - 11:15pmI think I’d rather there was just one version of the magazine, please. No subscriber only covers or what have you.
Anonymous
March 24th, 2020 - 1:15pmThis isn’t a deluxe issue.
Gareth Pugh
March 24th, 2020 - 1:54pmYes, this isn’t an alternative ‘Deluxe’ issue – this is more like 544 last October, where there is only one version and it is £9.99
