May 7th, 2018 - 9:19ambuying dwm is like a treat to me, as i live in Australia and there aren’t many newsagents that ship them over. So i was going to buy a digital version but, after reading all these comments, i think that ill just wait a bit till series 11 comes out and see what they have to offer then.

May 5th, 2018 - 7:45amI think the magazine is just trying to stay relevant and “Now”… If they simply focused on Quality and hired seasoned professionals who love the genre and show to supply content then the mag wouldn’t feel so cheap and boring. Who would you rather supply insightful articles, a Ridley Scott type who has a lifetime of knowledge, wisdom, and insight or a random high school graduate? Who do you want selecting photos and designing layouts…a yearbook club member or a Alphonse Mucha?

May 4th, 2018 - 8:49pmI’ve felt disappointed in the mag the last few issues, feels like there’s a lot less interesting stuff and more DWA type of stuff. Not trying to start an argument but anybody else finding it or am I just loosing interested in Doctor Who..

May 4th, 2018 - 9:44pmAll I buy now is the dvds, book fiction (novels, target books, short stories) and the panini graphic novels (not the titan books) I’ve found my enjoyment of who has increased as I decreased the amount I bought.

May 7th, 2018 - 8:13amIt does seem like DWM is trying to hard to be something it’s isnt. A lot of effort goes into the special issues which i still think are quite good but the regular issues are more Doctor Who Adventures in tone.
I am of the same feeling as others in that i may just leave it a while until we get some new episode previews and interviews with Jodie et all.

May 7th, 2018 - 10:00pmI’ve cancelled my subscription as I’ve decided to focus less on Jodie’s era (nothing against her just don’t have then money with growing up and what I’ve already committed to), the specials are good but the extra £10 ones seem more dragged out now being honest. I’ll buy the next few to finish 12th final comic and get the 50th issue of the specials and I think that’ll be it for me. Been a good run!

May 4th, 2018 - 1:59pmCan’t say I trust some members of the new time team to give a 100 percent honest opinion. Especially Jake duck man who works for big finish and Cristal dee who worked on the fan show. They may not want to give an honest opinion as it may effect future employment at the bbc.

May 4th, 2018 - 7:12amAll of the new Time Team are YouTubers/bloggers. I think the mag hope their fans follow them to DWM. One tweeted they bought 5 copies. If all 12 did that, circulation will be up!! Lol

May 3rd, 2018 - 10:33pmI do wonder what’s gone wrong with DWM. Are they under some sort of pressure to dumb down the content or is someone just making really bad editorial choices? It now seems a long way from the excellent 500 issue and the Tom Baker and Peter Davison features that followed. What a shame that the mag that flew the flag for all those years that Doctor Who was off the TV by finding new and interesting things to say about an old TV series is now having to resort to “Cosplay” tips, child reviews and Christel Dee’s silly remarks to pad out the page count at a time that should be the most exciting for many years.
Yes it is a show that can be enjoyed by children as well as adults, but can’t they also deserve intelligent discussion and articles of interest? I think after 55 years, Doctor Who deserves better. And it always used to with DWM. I hope they turn it around quickly.

May 3rd, 2018 - 12:11pmWell I guess Chistel as one of the new time team but I didn’t expect a literally team of kiddies … also 7 pages about stuff being cut out of episodes is not all that interesting. Once again the only interesting stuff is the Big Finish announcements

May 3rd, 2018 - 2:17pmYou know that times are rough when you’re looking at this month’s cover and seeing almost nothing which appeals. Even speaking as a mid-1990s millennial who’s collected DWM since 2007, I’ve never found myself so uninspired by the mag’s content as this year – as you say VeryFactualDalek, between the now YA-catering Time Team and Cosplay columns, the insipid Blogs of Doom, the overpadded Out of the TARDIS Q&As, the far from exhilarating-looking main feature on deleted scenes and the lack of any Season 11 news (from what I’ve heard), the line-up hardly screams ‘must-buy’. I’ll give this month’s edition a try, but then am strongly considering taking a break from DWM until Season 11 nears or the front-page features start grabbing my attention more – judging by the Next Issue page simply teasing promo features for the Fourth Doctor Blu-Ray and Jenny / Lady Christina BF boxsets, that trend may well start in June.

May 3rd, 2018 - 3:19pmOne of the weakest issues so far, and I’ve been buying it since it was Doctor who weekly. Even when doctor who was off air, the mag stayed more interesting than now. It’s just full of nonsense padded. As said above, the time team seem just a load of kids who dont really know about or even like the classic series, they keep trying to compare classic episodes to rose, is that the only episode they have seen? And as for Chistel saying she tends to watch the old series at times 1.5 speed! What is the point in the so called review. Keep giving the mag a chance but that’s it no more.

May 3rd, 2018 - 4:50pmI’m pretty sure she was joking! I stopped buying the mag about 10 years ago, and I stopped buying big finish about 7 years ago. If you don’t like it just stop buying it. There are lots of people who do still like it and are happy buying it. There are are a lot of younger fans now, it’s time for us old fans to accept that things change.

May 3rd, 2018 - 6:06pmI’ll admit, it’s starting to drain me. I’m getting annoyed with seeing the same faces in the magazine, notably Jake Dudman and Christel Dee. No offense to them, but it just doesn’t appeal to me. I’m 22. I’m not a million miles from the target audience, but it just doesn’t grab me.
There’s still enough in there for me to enjoy, but the style of appeal is starting to shift a bit towards a “How do you do, my fellow kids” cringey approach. And I’m not keen.

May 4th, 2018 - 12:51amThe new time team is not reflective of doctor who fandom in general. Understand them placing younger faces on the team but what about older fans who may have different opinions or views on the modern series and possibly a greater connection to the classic era.

May 4th, 2018 - 6:35amDWM has undoubtedly been going downhill recently and the new Time Team is a step closer to its death. Since Marcus Hearn took up the post of editor, the magazine has been going in the wrong direction.

May 11th, 2018 - 9:47amAs soon as Mr Hearn took over the helm of the magazine, the interesting articles got a lot less interesting, and the overall quality dropped literally overnight!
