During the scene were the 13 doctors save Gallifrey, 7 first shows up in his original ? jumper costume, then when we cut back now he’s showing up on a screen in his TV movie outfit, then later back in the ? jumper outfit.

Thanks everyone for the explanation of why The “Paternoster Gang” are called just that. However, look up “paternoster” on Wiki and all you get is a public (very dodgy one) elevator no longer in use. Complete with moving image! So Mr. Producer why are they named “Paternoster Gang”? The nation demands answers, stop being a politician!

How are they being “politicans”, the full explanation was offered in the Children in Need special for The Snowmen, nothing sinister or fan fiction based at all, it is all there on screen, which was written by Steven Moffat so he has offered the explanation.

If you aren’t happy with it then tough because you have been given it.

I think they’re the best thing that’s happened to the show in a long time. What do you hate about them so much? They’re funny, clever and entertaining. And also, they’ve only had like 4 TV adventures, so you can’t demand them to be dropped.

    • 100000BC

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:32pm

So long as Strax doesn’t become an archetypal Sontaran (i.e. all Sontarans become purely for comedic value and stupid) then they are one of the best things in the Moffat era.

    • StetsonDoctor

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:33pm

Oh Yes! PLEASE DO A CBBC SPIN-OFF!!

    • StetsonDoctor

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:35pm

I actually like Strax, he comes up with some funny stuff. I think it’s important to remember, that although the Sontarans are a race that are serious about war, it’s not a bad thing (well, it is for them) to see them as slightly stupid-I think you would get confused over genders if you were in Strax’s position. Also, Strax is only, what…13? He’s a child, I think people forget/ignore this…

    • Trenzalore

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:38pm

13 is quite old for a Sontaran.

    • 100000BC

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:40pm

Yeah, I love Strax as a character, just so long as all the other Sontarans don’t become like him (like in The Time of the Doctor, whose Sontarans I shall choose to believe were not part of the regular Sontaran army who were marching ruthlessly through Christmas at the same time)

    • the astronaut of death

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:40pm

yeah like 90 or 100 is rather young for a time lord

    • 100000BC

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:45pm

They should do the Time of the Doctor: the Extended version on DVD with better Sontarans and more time to show the Doctor battling armies of monsters, maybe even Mme Kovarian breaking rogue and eventually being EXTERMINATED!

    • The Whofan101

      June 24th, 2014 - 9:59pm

I think they’re…okay. They have the problem that there’s always one main member, usually Vastra. Jenny was given the limelight in The Crimson Horror, but Strax is underused outside of comedy and Vasta is a bit one-note. They’re good, but they could be done so much better.

    • Tardispals

      June 24th, 2014 - 11:21pm

It is good if Jenny, Vastra and strax get equal amounts of tv time. Vastra and strax were quite domimant in past episodes so i was only fair/equal if Jenny got more action in the crimson horror! 😀

    • 100000BC

      June 25th, 2014 - 4:32pm

I do agree that if Strax’s comedy value was lowered and Jenny’s action time was increased they could be loads better, however they are still quite good.

Me too I could cope with stars

But when they appeared in time of the doctor and acted really stupid just like strax I got really annoyed

They should do a story in series 8 with the sontarnans to bring them back to the great and full glory

    • Rowan Walsh

      June 24th, 2014 - 8:32pm

I see your argument and agree somewhat but just hope that there will be a proper Sontaran episode sometime soon! Maybe strax could be involved in that somehow 🙂

    • the astronaut of death

      June 24th, 2014 - 8:48pm

yeah they should do a story

where it involves strax choosing between his freinds or his fellow sontarnans

or it turns out strax all along has been working for his fellow sontarnans and has been feeding them information on the doctor

2 . a lift consisting of a series of linked compartments moving continuously on an endless belt.

But Dalek 1234, it could all be lies or disruptive untruths. After all Totters Lane was never right next door to Coal Hill School, as seen in the 50th! Ian & Barbara had to go by car. I’m still bereft or the Hospital has affected my senses, look what happened to Martha!

    • 100000BC

      June 25th, 2014 - 4:46pm

In response to a previous reply, we never see the junkyard in Day, only the gate, which is just as likely to be propped up on the wall as it is to be open and leading into the yard. I also have reason to believe that IM Foreman has multiple scrap yards, hence the three entirely different yards (two of which are in the early 1960s and have different spellings of the name on the gate)
7’s comment of “I’ve been here before” in Remembrance could refer to a different visit or be a clue to the true identity of the mysterious IM Foreman.

    • Obsie

    • Obsie

      June 25th, 2014 - 9:02pm

100000BC Thanks for that about the junkyard. I’m beginning to think IM Foreman was in cahoots with someone!

    • 100000BC

      June 26th, 2014 - 3:34pm

Just something small for people to think about… 😀 There’s no reason why he should only have one site, maybe the one featured in An Unearthly Child was getting a bit full so he got the one in Remembrance, then by the 80’s in Attack of the Cybermen he needed another one…

    • Obsie

      June 26th, 2014 - 8:49pm

100000BC Yes, as The Doctor himself remarked in his “all started out as a mild curiosity…” speech. Look how big things got. For all we know IM foreman could have been in cahoots with the undertakers who were “minding” The Hand of Omega, oh, there’s dark goings on somewhere I’ll bet.

    • 100000BC

      June 26th, 2014 - 9:10pm

And, of course, with the Doctor’s friends Mr. Pink and Mrs Oswald both teaching in that area of London, there’s scope for a Capaldi adventure out of it… (even if it is a fan fiction)

    • Obsie

      June 27th, 2014 - 9:30am

Yes, all those photos on boards in The Black Archives; Starting with Susan, etc. Who was lurking around ever corner from the early days, how did they know and what did they know? There is a lot shrouded in that fog from the early 60’s.

    • 100000BC
