      March 5th, 2016 - 10:23am

Mine turned up today so I’ve something for the weekend. They have gone all out & spared absolutely nothing in producing this set. (ie) Absolutely nothing on the packaging. Whilst we get both Christmas Specials due to no Who for 2016 (Excepting this year’s Christmas Special) & a pile of Special Features to pack it out over 7 discs the big let-down is the actual package itself. Apart from a nice little booklet on Series 9 all we get is one of those dreadful disc in a plastic shell fold-over 7 times in a block box. Apart from a couple of images on the slipcase & an Episode List that’s it! I really wish they would make a better effort with these. The last 2 or 3 have been along the same lines as well.

From what I presume is the Confession Dial Artwork(?) discs 1 thru to 6 have the Confession Dial as the Outer Image, inlaid with an image from Series 9. The 7th. disc is just the complete Confession Dial Artwork with no image.

    • Doctor RevWho

      January 8th, 2016 - 9:15pm

Probably not. They haven’t in the past (at least, not to my knowledge), and aren’t likely to suddenly start now.

  • Pudsy who?

    December 23rd, 2015 - 8:46am

So it includes both Christmas specials that confirms that I defentley NOT buy this as last Christmas was absolutely terrible witch is why I don’t own like why I didn’t own series 8 because I don’t like the robots of sherwood ill stick with the separate releases and if I like the Christmas special I will consider it much with Sherlock Christmas special

    • 76 Totters Lane

      December 23rd, 2015 - 10:55am

That’s a bit drastic. Not buying Series 8 just because you didn’t like ‘Robot of Sherwood’.

    • Tom

      December 23rd, 2015 - 2:40pm

I quite enjoyed Last Christmas I preferred it much more than to all the Matt Smith Christmas Specials

      Bit weird….

Booboo I saw the Sherlock Christmas special available to pre order on Amazon for £12.99

  • Alfie cook

Might decide to get it in the end since I don’t like the Christmas dvd cover

  • Anonymous

    December 21st, 2015 - 7:04pm

Why is the price so much?! On the BBC shop it now says its £34.99 which is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE! Very odd.

    • whorules

      December 21st, 2015 - 7:29pm

that’s the same price as all the previous full season box sets

    • whotoys

      December 22nd, 2015 - 7:26am

£34.99 is very cheap for a full series box set and it is worth the money

  • Doyouhearthem?

    December 21st, 2015 - 7:01pm

    7th March?!

  • JasonisnotaRobot

    December 21st, 2015 - 5:19pm

Anyone know if there’s gonna be a complete series 9 limited edition this year like they did for series 7 and 8?

    • Doyouhearthem?

      December 22nd, 2015 - 8:28am

Last year’s didn’t sell very well but if they do we will probably be notified in the next couple of days.

  • Matthew

    December 21st, 2015 - 5:16pm

I wonder why it includes TWORS? Is this a sign it’s going to be AGES before we see Series 10?

    • Weeping Angel

      Thats what i was thinking…

  • Alfie cook

    December 21st, 2015 - 3:06pm

As I got series 9 part 1 and pre ordered part 2 is it worth getting the box set

    • DannyTheNerd

      December 21st, 2015 - 5:09pm

    • Jamie

      December 21st, 2015 - 5:13pm

If you don’t care about the extras and already have “Last Christmas” then it is pretty pointless getting the boxset. “The Husbands of River Song” is also getting a vanilla release so you can get that when it is available.

    • The Savage Cabage

      December 21st, 2015 - 10:44pm

It has the meditation of the Doctor and the prequel for the magicians apprentice on it so might be worth considering

  • DannyTheNerd

    December 21st, 2015 - 2:47pm

Wowwww! Why is it £130 on Amazon?! :O I assume it will go down in price, once they get more stock lol

    • Anonymous

      December 21st, 2015 - 9:33pm

It’s a fake listing by a marketplace seller. The info is missing from the listing & they also state they have it in stock. Anyone purchasing will obviously receive a pirated copy & the Series 9 DVD Box Set has not been released anywhere yet for sale.

  • When The Doctor Was Me

    December 21st, 2015 - 2:21pm

7 discs! Kinda wanted THORS left out so it was just 6! i have custom covers so collection matches and 7 discs won’t fit into it! OCD overload!

    • 2doctors2000

      December 21st, 2015 - 4:20pm

Just put the husbands of river song in your custom series 10 box set sometime in the future

    • When The Doctor Was Me

      December 21st, 2015 - 5:33pm

Ah but its not that simple! It will have disc numbers on it! I can’t put a named ‘disc 7’ in differen case! Lol But to be fair they could change the quanitity. After all series 7 had 15 episodes plus extras on just 5 discs so i’m holding out for the official cover art! Lol

  • Jack Hawkins

    December 21st, 2015 - 1:34pm

      It’s a fake!

  • 2doctors2000

    December 21st, 2015 - 12:28pm

So this won’t include Last Christmas?

      December 21st, 2015 - 12:33pm

The Complete Boxset also contains the 2014 Christmas Special, Last Christmas and this year’s highly anticipated, The Husbands of River Song

    • 2doctors2000

      December 21st, 2015 - 1:17pm

Bit odd it includes this years special, the boxsets always include the Christmas special the following year, for example Last Christmas featured this year, I hope they go back to that style for Series 10, or maybe its a sign that Series 10 will not be the usual format, as Series 7 boxset included two Christmas specials also, being split over two years.

    • WhovianAvenger

      December 21st, 2015 - 10:04pm

In fairness, Series 9 only finished a couple weeks back, as opposed to the month or so between Death in Heaven and Last Christmas, so it makes a lot more sense to package Husband of River Song with it than wait for the Series 10 boxset in 2017 or whenever it arrives.

  • Anonymous

    December 21st, 2015 - 11:53am

Ok it said the husbands of river song! So it will include the Christians special,

Don’t order yet if your one of the collectors and wait for some news from the BBC
