Dr. Who & The Daleks: The Official Story of the Films
An out of this world 4K restoration of Dr. Who &; The Daleks (1965), starring British film legend Peter Cushing as everyone’s favourite timelord. This was the first big screen film adaptation of British TV’s most iconic sci-fi hero, and the first time Dr. Who was ever seen in colour!
Having invented the TARDIS, a strange machine capable of travelling into other dimensions, the Dr. and his three young accomplices set forth on a quest through time and space. Their journey takes them into the dark, undiscovered depths of the universe and to the planet of Skaro, a primitive world devastated by nuclear war and populated by two warring species, a peaceful tribe known as Thals and a life form heavily mutated by radiation, encased in protective machines, merciless force of destruction known as The Daleks!

June 19th, 2022 - 4:43amDid an actual fan not work on this cover? That’s the 2005 TARDIS with a St. John’s Ambulance sticker, nothing like Cushing’s TARDIS… dear oh dear…

June 30th, 2022 - 4:55pmThe first time i saw the cushing movies was on the big screen in the 1970s. My dads workplace used to get annual xmas tickets for their families to view asurprise movie. Another local firm used to get tickets for their families, only difference, they used to get to see an exclusive film of the time whereas we got the b pictures. They got a selection box, we got a mars bar. We got daleks one year and invasion of earth a couple of years later. Invasion of earth i preferred of the two. Thought we got a raw deal at the time, in hindsight i think we got the better deal now. Much better on the big screen.

June 30th, 2022 - 9:14pmB movies! Now that’s something I havnt heard anyone talk about for a very long time.
Can anyone remember when you watched a Film at the pictures you always had to sit through a short film first. Whereas now it’s just Ten minutes of Adverts and Trailers before the main feature.

July 1st, 2022 - 11:08amI remember seeing hercules and kung fu followed by the main feature sinbad and the eye of the tiger. Also as doubles saw moonraker followed by for your eyes only. I think the last two me and a friend saw was grease 2 followed by footloose. And im not a fan of musicals. Ive spent some long hours in those old fleapits.

July 1st, 2022 - 11:13amDaleks invasion was my favourite simply because of Bernard cribbins, sorry Roy castle. Though the scenes with the robomen having their lunch with a disguised bernard was a little silly.

July 1st, 2022 - 4:58pmOnly Double feature I remember seeing was the Empire Strikes Back followed by Return of the Jedi at the Gaumont in Doncaster. Saw quite a few of those short films though before the Main feature.
Remember seeing an Animated short about “Time”, before Jedi.
Also saw a long Documentary about the Kennedy assassination before a Feature and one about Motorcross Bike racing before another feature. (All very vague as I was quite young).
Remember some of the Short films being very boring as they usually had nothing in common with the main Film.
I Bet the Dalek films will look great on the big screen in Colorvision though.
