Again, I love Ace, and would buy this solely as an Ace-fan collectable, but I just don’t think the face sculpt is at all good. It looks NOTHING like the wonderful Sophie Aldred. It kind of looks a bit bland, and neutral, almost like they didn’t really bother to try and capture her likeness.

Wouldn’t worry, these are only prototypes meaning that when this come to shops they’ll almost guarenteed to have made itinerary detailed.

Just really chuffed to have more classics on the shelf. Throw me anything from the classic range and I’ll buy it. I also think it’s ironic that the painting featured here only appeared in a deleted scene of the story, which can only be viewed as an extra on the DVD, and to view it in the story, you have to watch the extended VHS version. So glad I kept my VHS then, it’s really nice to see, but a little odd accesory.

I own the VHS and I had no idea it was a deleted scene… My collection of classic DW is mostly on VHS.

Which would everyone say is better? This or the first Ace?
I quite like the first Ace, and although this is great it could come with a re-release cyberman or even a hatted solemn 7th Doctor
    Either way still cool!

    • JaffaCakes

      June 21st, 2014 - 11:31am

I’d say that the accessories that came with the last Ace are a little better (if only because they’re less story-specific) but that this Ace looks like a better costume (because she had her hair back and jacket sleeves rolled up in more stories! Hope this helps a bit 🙂

    • The Other

      June 21st, 2014 - 11:33pm

      Ah thanks!
Yeah I was thinking along those lines myself

    June 20th, 2014 - 7:01pm

Not bad, but I prefer Ace with her iconic bomber jacket.

    • Scott

      June 20th, 2014 - 7:14pm

      It does come with it

    • Dalekmus Prime

      June 21st, 2014 - 8:55pm

Oh. I still will probably get the ‘Remembrance’ version for the weapon accessories, but this one is still cool.

  • JDP Manjoume

    June 20th, 2014 - 6:59pm

Nice but it would have funny if it had came with a alternate 7th Dr head with the fez that he wore in part of Silver Nemesis or even a solemn hatted head.

    Any advice?

    • Scott

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:35pm

If you didn’t get the last one, I would get this, I’m getting it anyway, at least if I see it in store, Ace is the best

  • 100000BC

    June 20th, 2014 - 6:29pm

    Companions are the way forward!
So far I have Peri and the other Ace (and K9 and the new series ones): If I buy the other companions then I will have companions for: 3rd Doctor (Brig, Jo), 4th Doctor (K9, Leela), 5th Doctor (Peri), 6th Doctor (Peri), and 7th Doctor (Ace).
Therefore logically the next step would be for black-and-white-era companions like Jamie, Susan, Ian and Steven, and maybe a set of a Davison-era crew like Tegan+Adric+Nyssa, Tegan+Nyssa or Tegan+Turlough so 5 and 6 don’t have to share a companion on our shelf displays…

At last!!! Now they just need to release, Romana II, Sarah Jane, Jamie and Susan

This is wicked! Another great Classic companion, was hoping we’d get at least one more, if not 2!

Will buy 2 so I’ve got with and without jacket at the same time!

    Ace!

  • The Other

    June 20th, 2014 - 5:10pm

Would’ve been nice to have included another new figure or two, but still pretty cool!

    June 20th, 2014 - 5:09pm

Its nice that the 5″ figures come lots of things to swap as it’s like having lots of figures

So happy we’ve got another Ace figure – my favourite companion. Nice set too, can’t wait to get my hands on it!

    June 20th, 2014 - 2:48pm

Finally, i thought they’d given up with the classic series figures

  • F9

    June 20th, 2014 - 2:38pm

AWESOME! The first Ace figure was easily one of the best they’ve done and now we get an alternate!

Any word on a release date?

  • DalekEmperor101

    June 20th, 2014 - 2:21pm

Looks quite nice. Although very similar to the Ace i already have, the face seems slightly different, and the accessories themselves make the figure worth while

  • UDWF1

    June 20th, 2014 - 1:28pm

Don’t think I’ll be getting this. It’s not very different to the first Ace release, so it’s not really worth getting it. If they included a Cyberman or something, fair play, but it seems not

  • Melkur

    June 20th, 2014 - 1:09pm

So pleased that we are getting another 5 inch classic figure, was beginning to lose all hope

  • Matt Young

    June 20th, 2014 - 1:04pm

Very disappointing – why isn’t this a twin set with a monster!!! It could have included the Nemesis Statue!! Or been Battlefield with The Destroyer!
UT could have made a much more exciting product than just another single figure Ace which we have had already.

  • Scott

    June 20th, 2014 - 12:54pm

want to get a side view of this so I can see the new hair sculpt
