March 9th, 2017 - 6:00pmPrefer this out of the two as A) it sticks more closely to the original “minimalist” concept for Capaldi’s look and B) he appears to be wearing a very similar outfit – distressed jumper with crew neck, grey hoodie – in the publicity photos taken in Spain.
I don’t know if this is a happy coincidence, or the BBC and Character communicating with each other, but this could almost count as a series 10 figure.

March 9th, 2017 - 9:20pmI agree, I’m not too keen on the whole hoodie look for the Twelfth Doctor but I haven’t minded him wearing dark colours with hoodies like this because they remind me of how stripped back he was originally and they suit him instead of wearing t-shirts. This costume appeared in the Series 10 teaser so it can be classed as a figure from the new series, hopefully we’ll see if not a velvet coat Twelve (which I hope we do) a couple of more hoodie repaints like the costume he’s wearing in Episode 2.

March 11th, 2017 - 9:12amI’m with you about the hoodie look, I would still really like a “Thin White Duke” look figure with the white shirt, navy Crombie and waistcoat/cardie (which still appears to be the default costume if the recent Cyberman pics are any indication), and of course they could have got two variants out of that figure with the red velvet coat. But I got this figure yesterday and I’m more pleased and impressed with it than any other figure in the “Collector’s Series” barring the NOTD 8th.
It may have something to do with the lower price, but – dare I say it – I think there might have been an improvement in quality control as well; little to no paint errors or smudges on mine, and no arms hanging loosely and queasily out of the bicep swivels. They’re still making him look too young for some reason, but it’s more sharply and obviously Capaldi; he’s “there” in a way he wasn’t in the bland, disinterested headsculpt on the shirt variants,
No, my only real niggle is with the scale, which seems to be an ongoing and increasing problem with the collector figures. Hoodie Twelve tops out at darn near six inches, which means he doesn’t look out of place standing next to my Star Lord and Chirrut Imwe figures; however he does, unfortunately, stick out like a sore thumb alongside his former incarnations and even his own previous figure. Is this part of some sneaky plan by Character/Underground to gradually scale up the DW figure so they’re compatible with the Marvel, DC and Sta Wars figures?

March 11th, 2017 - 11:50amI really hope we get a more traditional Twelfth Doctor figure before he leaves of him wearing either the velvet coat/waistcoat combination or his new coat/waistcoat combination because I prefer it when his costumes are more formal compared to the hoodie look. I will definitely agree with you on the hoodie variants, they are very good figures however as I’ve mentioned before my Under the Lake/Before the Flood has a much better head sculpt whereas on my Girl who Died variant he looks more like how he looked in the very first prototype image and lacks detail.
The scale issue is also a big issue I think, he just looks ridiculous when displayed next to other figures. I am going to buy some Twelve Doctor variants from Series 8 to swap out the boots because that fixes the issue somewhat but I don’t see why it wasn’t fixed when they were being made. I don’t think its to make them 6″ I just think it was a problem on the production side of things because UT cancelled their order of them due to a “factory error” so maybe this is what they meant.

March 6th, 2017 - 8:36pmCancelled my order with FP International because they aren’t in stock yet and decided to re-order them off Amazon. It’s pretty ironic how FP International who got the Tenth Doctor in Tuxedo in stock first haven’t got the new Twelfth Doctor variants in yet. Knowing my luck International will start sending out Pre-Orders to people just as I cancelled mine with them.
Dalek4ever
March 6th, 2017 - 8:54pmAnd you are correct….

March 7th, 2017 - 10:47amI cancelled mine from forbidden planet international and ordered them from who one who got the sent off the same day.

March 8th, 2017 - 1:36pmMine arrived a couple of minutes ago from Amazon and I must say they look excellent. There is a slight variation in paint application on the head sculpt on both mine as the Under the Lake/Before the Flood has more detailing than The Girl who Died variant which looks mote soft. The only problem I have with them is that they are massive so I will probably get two Twelve Doctor Series 8 variants to swap over the boots.

January 25th, 2017 - 2:02amIs the figure coming at the end off February?
Shallacatop
January 25th, 2017 - 9:34amAccording to the Forbidden Planet date. They haven’t been putting things up for pre-order until near release recently, so it should be accurate.

January 22nd, 2017 - 12:28pmCompare this picture of her head to the one we saw on Facebook this one just seems… Meh
Omega63
January 25th, 2017 - 8:09amThe one on Facebook was a digital images just colourised. They could get incredible detail on that level, bare in mind in real life sculpting and painting on top reduced detail levels. It’s the same model, on a much smaller scale.

January 21st, 2017 - 5:38pmThis is my favourite figure out of the three. It may not have a lot going on but at least it’s from a decent two-parter and is a costume variant I like as opposed to the t-shirt variant.
The Outcast
March 2nd, 2017 - 1:04pmYeah, this is the one I’m getting. It also appears in the series 10 teaser, So it’s also a series 10 variant as well. 🙂
Shallacatop
January 21st, 2017 - 3:42pmIt looks like the headsculpt has been reworked since the original reveal. I liked it well enough to start off with, but this is far better. Can’t wait to buy it!

January 21st, 2017 - 12:45pmIf 10th is out why not this
The Outcast
January 21st, 2017 - 1:34pmI have a feeling they are holding the 12th Doctors back to release when the series airs or something. When they were announced they were originally scheduled for February, so I assume we’ll get them some time between now and then.

January 6th, 2017 - 7:16pmFOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT’S BEEN CANCELLED.

January 6th, 2017 - 7:22pmAs far as the UK is concerned the info i have suggests nothing has been cancelled
there is however some problem in the USA
LastOfTheSonics
January 7th, 2017 - 9:57amAre the shipments to the UK too close to being shipped to be cancelled now?
booboo
January 7th, 2017 - 10:09amThere is no issue with the UK shipment as far as we know, but even if they leave now it can take some weeks for the “boat to arrive” and clear customs etc hence the May date.
I think the confusion here is that it appears the USA order has been cancelled rather than the figures themselves
UT (USA) only speak for the situation in the USA
Anonymous
January 6th, 2017 - 6:00pmEveryone, I’m so confused. I read on Underground Toys USA’s twitter (same place this was revealed) that they’ve canceled it due to an error. Is this true?
booboo
January 6th, 2017 - 6:06pmthere is no error as in factory.
the info we have is that they have not been cancelled and are close to being sent to the UK (which can take weeks by boat/custom hold ups etc)
There is however some issue with the USA and retailers there are being told they have been cancelled.

November 13th, 2016 - 8:22amThe official makers of the figures said its from under the lake.
He does also wear this in supremacy of the cybermen comic and has this sonic so I’ll just imagine it’s from that story
booboo
November 13th, 2016 - 9:25aminteresting they are solely attributing these figures to Underground toys and giving the USA account to follow for more news, seems like no one is speaking for the UK.
Certainly looks like there have been some behind the scenes changes
The Outcast
November 13th, 2016 - 10:09amI like things how they where Two/Three years ago, when everyone got them within a few days of one another. I remember getting the War Doctor figure Three/Four days before it was released in the UK, while nowadays Australia (and in some cases, the UK) gets the figures months later.
booboo
November 13th, 2016 - 10:50amAustralia used to get stuff first at one time, got a few sets from their months before the Uk got it, time of the doctor set being one and was also half the price than the UK

November 3rd, 2016 - 3:13pmOkay so I’m confused, is the other figure that was revealed first not getting released now?
I’d heard they were both just variants getting released and one of them was possibly coming with the guitar, is this not the case?
Also are there no more reveals?
booboo
November 3rd, 2016 - 3:18pmwhatever the 4th figure reveal was its been cancelled, and by that we dont know if it was just the announcement or the figure itself
as far as I know they have not given any indication as to what it was
Mr Sandman
November 1st, 2016 - 9:06amRewatched Under the Lake / Before the Flood, The Zygon Invasion / Inversion and Sleep No More for the first time for Halloween last night. All three stories had this costume variant; can’t wait for it now!
Nicholas
November 2nd, 2016 - 1:09pmZygon episodes was the black hoodie variant and I believe Sleep No More had the blue hoodie from The Woman Who Lived but I could be wrong there
Mr Sandman
November 2nd, 2016 - 10:01pmThe figure has a black hoodie. To be pedantic, I guess the figure variant is from Under the Lake / Before the Flood and Sleep No More specifically. The black hoodie is worn in the Zygon story, but unzipped.
Anonymous
November 4th, 2016 - 11:42amThis variant isn’t even from Sleep No More. The 12th Doctor had four different hoodies in Series 9.
He had the Ink Navy Hoodie, which was used in: The Magician’s Apprentice, The Witch’s Familiar, The Girl Who Died, Sleep No More and possibly the pre-titles scene in Face The Raven.
Then he had the black hoodie in: Last Christmas, The Zygon Invasion, The Zygon Inversion and possibly the pre-titles scene in Face The Raven (it’s hard to tell due to the lighting, it could be the Ink or Black).
There was the green hoodie which was used in: Under the Lake and Before the Flood.
And finally he had the Dark Marine hoodie in the Woman Who Lived.
I can tell you now, all of them were defiantly not cheap with three of the four being from All Saints and I’m not sure where the green one is from, but from what I hear it is most defiantly not cheap.

October 31st, 2016 - 9:55pmThis is incredibly unlikely but It’d be brilliant if we got a Fisher King figure at some point in the future. He is probably one of the best designed villains of the modern era and he would look very imposing on display next to this figure.

November 1st, 2016 - 7:39amThat would be a cool figure i’d definitetly get.

October 30th, 2016 - 12:52amAm I correct in saying that this costume with this sonic was used in the Supremacy of the Cybermen comic?

October 30th, 2016 - 1:16amJust double checked and it was definitely this one! That’s pretty cool, although I assume it’s just a coincidence.

October 29th, 2016 - 11:07pmI prefer this one out of the 2.
Rick lundeen
October 29th, 2016 - 5:49pmSo, they take the badly sculpted second Capaldi head and added longer hair. Why on EARTH do they not use the far superior Time of the Doctor Capaldi head that actually LOOKS like Capaldi AND has longer hair?!?!?!? They must have had some contract dispute with whoever sculpted the first, good head. Because that should be the one they use on all these, not this generic guy who I don’t recognize.

October 30th, 2016 - 12:10amAs it has been said before the problem with the sculpt is that like what happend last year with the four Twelfth Doctor variants, the paint has been applied too thickly to it and the detail has been lost. The sculpt itself isn’t bad and this is just a prototype image, most figures tend to look ten times better when in hand.
