To find your nearest store visit www.bmstores.co.uk. Please ring (option 3) to check availability before travelling. Priced at £16.99 per set. Product code 294255
This 5.5″ figure set is presented in collectors series window box packaging.
The Monster set contains…
- Cyber Controller
- Attack Cyberman
- Sontaran Skorr
This second B&M exclusive Monsters Set contains The Cyber Controller from the 1967 Patrick Troughton story The Tomb of the Cybermen, A Cyberman from the 1985 Colin Baker story Attack of the Cybermen and Sontaran Skorr from the 2008 David Tennant stories The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky.
Accessories include a laser rifle and helmet with Sontaran Skorr and a Cyber Gun with the Attack Cyberman.
The new Cyber Controller (left) is a slight variant the original Build a Figure where individual parts were supplied in the “age of Steel wave”.
The face is a darker grey and the figure now has a silver rim below the brain section, the decoration on the brain is also slightly more obvious on this new version.
The “Attack” Cybeman (centre) is a combination of the Earthshock and Rogue Cyberman with appropriate paint application. The gun also has a different paint application. All in all i think most people would see this as an unreleased and new figure.
Sontaran “Skorr” is essentially a re-named re-release although he can either come with a rank insignia badge of 3 (Commander) or 5 (General) in this set. The badge is on the collar below the helmet line.

July 14th, 2017 - 10:53amGreat to see the Cyber Controller re-released. Especially with the 50th anniversary of the superb ‘Tomb of the Cybermen’ fast approaching.
Tim M
July 14th, 2017 - 11:09amPerhaps they should have released a Moonbase/Tomb Cyberman, Cyber Controller and Second Doctor as a three figure release. Would have made a brilliant ‘Tomb of the Cybermen’ themed set.

July 13th, 2017 - 10:44pmI’ll be using my staff discount on this. Some days I love working for them mainly when they release these sets.

July 14th, 2017 - 8:45amVery lucky!
Gareth
July 13th, 2017 - 5:37pmI love the look of this set 🙂 any news on the sonic or dalek? Or was it just a rumour?
booboo
July 13th, 2017 - 6:07pmNo both are due later, the Dalek in September
Stike
July 13th, 2017 - 10:49pmWhat sonic/Dalek are you talking about?

July 14th, 2017 - 8:48am12″ remote bronze and 11th sonic, no idea if in new packaging yet

July 13th, 2017 - 4:06pmI’d prefer a classic Sontaran as a person who unfortunately never got one due to the overpriced pods. But, am I the only one who doesn’t mind the new series one being included here? Yes it would make sense to have a 10th Planet Cyberman, but I was planning on doing a classic coloured modern series custom of the Sontaran and this is the cheapest way for me to get it.
And, if the silver and black custom of the new series Sontaran looks good, it’s definitely a recolour I’d love to see for a proper Sontaran story in Chibnall’s run.
SW
July 14th, 2017 - 9:15amIt does look good, I bought one a number of years ago not realising at the time that it was a repaint, stands at the front of my Sontaran army as the commander 🙂
Coolicle
July 14th, 2017 - 12:11pmThey did release a classic sontaran in an invasion of time set with Leela and no pod
Velvet Doctor
July 13th, 2017 - 12:48amI know this is the attack cyberman, but out of curiosity is it the same design as in The Five Doctors?
LastOfTheSonics
July 13th, 2017 - 6:36amYes.
Gollstrom
July 13th, 2017 - 7:45amThey’re the same bodies as The Five Doctors however they use the silver guns from Earthshock
Jamie
July 13th, 2017 - 11:43amDifferent boots on the Attack version.
Whovastron
July 13th, 2017 - 3:40pm@Jamie the Attack and Five Doctors Cybermen have the same boots.
Velvet Doctor
July 13th, 2017 - 6:20pmThanks guys! It’s difficult spotting all the little differences in these costumes for me 😀

July 14th, 2017 - 6:28am@whovastron
Sorry, your absolutly right! For some reason I thought you meant Earthshock… Teach me to speed read!

July 12th, 2017 - 10:06pmboo boo. When are these sets, due to hit the stores?
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 10:09pmlate July early August
Christopher
July 12th, 2017 - 10:14pmThank you 🙂
Colin fan no. 1
July 12th, 2017 - 8:32pmI think that they should’ve done a sontaran from the two doctors and then we would have a sontaran from each story
Duncan parsons
July 12th, 2017 - 6:24pmB&M’s is a chain of budget shops that sell things at budget prices such as toys. These are budget price figure sets produced on a budget so most if not all figures in these sets have been released before. If you are wanting something that’s brand new or rare or of limited number I would suggest looking elsewhere. Easy
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 6:26pmexactly, some people are expecting far to much from these sets
Dalek4ever
July 12th, 2017 - 6:36pmI think for what you get its worth it! I too don’t understand what people are expecting. Are they expecting the regeneration 6th Doctor Regeneration 4th doctor and 5the Doctor? Rate figures. But so is the cyber controller but still. I don’t know what they expect
Weeping Angel
July 12th, 2017 - 6:59pmEven though I feel that they could have changed some of the figures in the sets, I don’t know why people are complaining. At least we get some new doctor who merchandise this year, even if it is re-releases.
prototype dalek
July 12th, 2017 - 7:07pmAny merchandise is new merchandise, especially with not as much Doctor Who Figures now a days
Judooning
July 12th, 2017 - 9:28pmAlthough, just because a figure has become rare in the eyes of a collector does not mean it can’t be put in a budget set. It would cost no more to produce a regenerated 6th Doctor figure for one of these sets than it would a standard Sontaran figure that we’ve seen many times before. (Unless of course they no longer have the mould, then fair enough). The rarity of a previously released figure would not effect it being re-released.
I like these 3 sets, and I completely understand the target audience for these sets, but still I can think of many more desired figures that the average “impulse buyer” would still recognise or find interesting.
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 9:43pmthere would be endless list of desired figures so whatever they do people will complain about something
Some classic figures were co funded by UT and FP so we don’t know what effect that may have in any re-use of them
Other collectors would complain like hell (as some have already regard the cyber controller) if “rare” figures were re-released in cheap sets
Judooning
July 13th, 2017 - 9:36amExcluding the Eleven and Thirteen Doctors box set, is this is the first ever figure set to contain both classic and New series figures?
Ryan Croughan
July 12th, 2017 - 3:02pmHonestly, they could have so easily altered these sets to suit collectors and casual buyers using the same figures. I know many people were missing the Cyber Controller, but it wouldn’t have done much harm to add some ice/snow detailing to at least make it a variant to the scene where he first exits the Tomb. As for the Sontaran? Paint the face a light beige and we have Commander Stark from The Pandorica Opens. It doesn’t take a lot but it goes a long way for long time collectors.
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 4:41pmthe problem is any alteration to the original production run costs money
even snow would requite a new paint mask and and an alteration to the established production process
B&M will only have these I’m sure if they getting a good margin from them
I expect CO are having to produce these at a very very low cost so we are never going to see what some people are expecting from these type of sets
Dalek4ever
July 12th, 2017 - 4:43pmIs this out?
Ryan
July 12th, 2017 - 10:44pmThat’s certainly true booboo, and I’m very glad we’re getting these figures at all. I just wish that there was some outlets for even repaints offering variants and improve versions on original figures, because the few variants they release in these sets are welcomed with such great response from collectors. I always thought the ‘collector series’ was a great opportunity for that, and have welcomed these sets each year for the (if slight) but desired variants they produce.
erikthedalek
July 12th, 2017 - 2:56pmI wish to express my sincere desire that the Doctor Who 5 inch action figure range comes back, in a powerful way, in 2018. A new Doctor, a new show runner in charge, it could be a great new era for Who. I will miss Capaldi, as any Doctor who plays the guitar, has a spot in my heart. But, the show adapts and changes, so too must we. Best of luck to the new Who actor, whom ever he or she turns out to be. Also, best wishes to the Who toy line, it maintains 12 shelves in my collection. Good luck, see you in 2018. These statements are purely my own best wishes .
The Outcast
July 12th, 2017 - 3:17pmI agree. I really hope the Series 11 gets more people to buy figures.
Gollstrom
July 12th, 2017 - 2:36pmSo is the Sontaron suppose to be Commander Stark from TPO?
mrcrazyesque
July 12th, 2017 - 4:21pmThat’s who he most resembles but i think the insignia on the collar is incorrect for that.
Anonymous
July 12th, 2017 - 5:08pmSkorr
Weeping Angel
July 12th, 2017 - 2:17pmI don’t understand why they put the new style Sontaran in this set, instead of another Cyberman, and then it could have been a Cyberman set. Also, does anyone know if the 12″ Dalek & Sonic Screwdriver will be coming out at the same time and when we will get images?
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 2:49pmthey are not until September i think
Weeping Angel
July 12th, 2017 - 6:21pmOk, thx
Jordan Scott
July 12th, 2017 - 1:23pmThats definitely General Staal on the picture, yet he has Commander Skorr’s weapon and his name on the box. I hope this isn’t the case in the actual release.
Mark Belsom
July 12th, 2017 - 1:09pmWant three of these sets, plan on making the controller into moonbase Cybermen.
TIMELORDTC
July 12th, 2017 - 1:30pmJust buy a Tomb Cyberman. They are exactly the same in moonbase as they are tomb.
Mark Belsom
July 12th, 2017 - 2:01pmTrue,but l want some extra attack Cybermen.
Anonymous
July 12th, 2017 - 3:41pmThere are several minor variations between the Moonbase and Tomb versions.
Anonymous
July 12th, 2017 - 12:44pmIs that sontaran not called general staal, as I’m certain Commander Skorr was the name of the one played by Dan Starkey (later played strax) I’m sure the weapons are mixed up’ as general staal had a swagger stick.
TheRavenMustBeFaced
July 14th, 2017 - 2:33pmI was thinking exactly the same, Stall has a more grumpy expression than Skorr. Plus Skorr has 2 teeth showing.
The Outcast
July 12th, 2017 - 12:38pmI think that the Cyberman is from the Five Doctors because the gun is silver. I’m definitely going to get this set.
Gollstrom
July 12th, 2017 - 2:32pmIt’s from Attack Of The Cybermen
Adam
July 12th, 2017 - 12:09pm£50.97 for all 3…. when you think of it like that 🙁
Gareth
July 13th, 2017 - 5:41pmIm not touching the 9th doctor set with a very long barge pole but I need a 4th doctor so 34 isnt too bad :/
prototype dalek
July 12th, 2017 - 11:49amWill certainly be getting this! Like how the CyberController and Cyberman are different so cant wait for this! Any dates of release yet?
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 11:53amat the end of the month i think, may take a few days for stock to circulate
prototype dalek
July 12th, 2017 - 11:59amOk then, thank you. All I know is that my store will be getting one of the first batches so just hoping to ring and reserve them
Anonymous
July 12th, 2017 - 12:01pmHi, what is different about the Cyber Controller?
The Attach Cyberman is new, right? As we have never had a regular silver Attach Cyberman before.
booboo
July 12th, 2017 - 12:17pmthe head looks darker and more obvious deco on the brain to me
The attack is new
Johnny Disco
July 7th, 2017 - 11:23amI wonder if they’ve corrected the Cyber Controller – on screen there were two sets of piping on each leg, but only one on the collect and build model. I makes a big difference to the look….
mrcrazyesque
July 7th, 2017 - 12:24pmThe figure has a pipe at the front of each leg and a pipe at the back of each leg, is that correct or not?
thewhoman
July 6th, 2017 - 3:57pmProbably a silly question, but I’ve seen people asking ‘why is this the Earthshock head if it’s from AOTC’ what’s the difference? I can’t see any on my figures.. Apart from the obvious weathering on the AOTC version.
Anonymous
July 7th, 2017 - 8:58amIt’s the rogue cyberman I’m pretty sure
7thwhovlogs
July 7th, 2017 - 10:27amThe difference is, on the Rogue Cyberman, the eyes are enlarged and the faceplate is annoying to put on. If it had the Earthshock head it’d be more screen accurate and no risk of the plate falling off
Judooning
July 6th, 2017 - 9:35amI’m actually pretty hyped for this set! Cybermen and Sontarans make for great looking figures and you can do some nice poses with them when you have the guns. (Which I am so relieved they are included)
Yeah Okay, a classic Sontaran may have been a bit of a change. But then I suppose the new series one would catch the eye of younger kids due to Strax being a more recent Sontaran in the series.
prototype dalek
July 5th, 2017 - 8:28pmStrange set with the 2 Cybermen and a Sontaran, would make sense to have another Cyberman with them really
Jack
July 5th, 2017 - 8:29pmAgreed, my thoughts too
Dalek Sec
July 6th, 2017 - 2:43pmWould’ve been better with the original Mondasian Cyberman, considering the recent episode.
prototype dalek
July 12th, 2017 - 5:07pmMakes sense

July 12th, 2017 - 5:17pmnot yet

July 13th, 2017 - 12:26pmVery intriguing answer booboo
Someone
July 5th, 2017 - 7:27pmsets aren’t as good as last years tbh
[email protected]
July 5th, 2017 - 11:19pmits the some figure as the build a cyberman figure collection. is just how the picture taken
Danny
July 6th, 2017 - 12:25pmThe only one I think is worth getting is the Monsters set with it having the Tomb Cyber Controller if you missed out getting the build-a-figure. The original figure sells quite pricey when loose on eBay. Other than that these sets are very weak compared to last year (with the blue coat 3rd doctor as an example). Would have preferred a 5th doctor set or even a 1st doctor set.
Weeping Angel
July 5th, 2017 - 5:43pmWhy is the cybercontrollers head black?
Weeping Angel
July 5th, 2017 - 5:45pmThat was me ^^^
booboo
July 5th, 2017 - 5:50pmits is different but i think there is a shadow across it making it look dark
William
July 5th, 2017 - 6:52pmThe on screen Tomb Controller head is supposed to be a dark metallic silver colour; I’m glad CO are correctingly mistakes – makes this rerelease pack worth putting out
William
July 5th, 2017 - 6:59pm*correcting
The Outcast
July 6th, 2017 - 7:51amI’d rather it was a Black and White version. Would make things interesting.
William
July 6th, 2017 - 10:15amThat’s a good idea and perhaps replace the sontaran with a monochrome ice warrior 😉

July 5th, 2017 - 3:02pmJust to clarify, the attack Cyberman has the correct boots and the Earthshock head? I’d be so annoyed if the face plate from the “Rogue” Cyberman was just stuck on
Mark Belsom
July 5th, 2017 - 4:24pmI think the face is just stuck on,but I could be wrong.
booboo
July 5th, 2017 - 4:36pmcorrect boots, not sure on the head, was supposedly the rogue Cybermen with fixed plate and no weathering but that could have change

July 5th, 2017 - 12:00pmI hope theres somthing a little bit different with this Cyber-Controller compared to the collect and build Cyber-Controller so you can tell which is which because im sure others like me who have the collect and build Cyber-Controller are a little annoyed that they are now releasing the figure as a full figure because to me it felt like an achivement to have the collect and build Cyber-Controller because of its rareness
Anonymous
July 5th, 2017 - 1:15pmTotally agree!
platon29
July 5th, 2017 - 5:47pmThe figures were normal price when first released and people selling them on ebay are nothing to do with the company so why should there be any difference?
Anonymous
July 6th, 2017 - 11:12amIMO although it is nice to have collected and built that figure all those years ago- it isn’t fair on those who didn’t get it. They’ve waited long enough to rerelease it. It’s a lot like the River Song they rereleased a couple of years ago- in which people complained then too.
The Outcast
July 6th, 2017 - 1:44pmI think it would be good if this controller was a Black and White version.
Johnny Disco
July 7th, 2017 - 11:24amIf they’ve got the piping on the legs correct this time it’ll finally be screen accurate – should have 2 sets per leg, not one. A really surprising miss on the design – can only think they simplified it for cost reasons but it’s a shame it’s not right as everything else about it is great.
The Outcast
July 7th, 2017 - 11:40amThe Tomb Controller already has 2 sets of pipes on it though. I know, I own one.
