Companions Of Doctor Who

‘Don’t be alone, Doctor,’ Amy Pond tells the eleventh Doctor in ‘The Angels Take Manhattan,’ and of course the irony is that in one sense the Doctor is always alone-a Gallifreyan whose regenerative powers mean he will outlast nearly everyone near and dear to him-while at the same time he is rarely without one or more trusted companion by his side.

This is a book about those companions, those fortunate few who accompany him on his journeys through space and time on, to quote the ninth Doctor-‘the trip of a lifetime.’ The editors of The Villains of Doctor Who return with a new anthology of essays to Donna Noble, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose Tyler, Wilfred Mott, Chang Lee, Clara Oswald, and more.

Still a valid question… why does it bother you?

Chang Lee. What will they say about him?

A lovable rogue who runs with a gang who freely gun down people in the streets.

I’m surprised they missed the opportunity to put the new companion on the cover

What’s this then? I take it that it’s a Collection of Short Stories.
It doesn’t seem to be a Graphic Novel or have a lot of Photos or Artwork even

No, judging by the pictures on Amazon, it looks like it’s just a non-fiction book discussing the companions from the show and the actors that played them, like the villains of Doctor who book.

There’s some sample pages up on Amazon and it looks like a non-fiction essays-about-each-character, their creation and development etc

Judging by the cover, shouldn’t it be called “The FEMALE companions of Doctor Who” ? *rolls eyes*

Doesn’t matter what anyone does it will be wrong with someone. Every post i put on here now shows that.

To be fair, there are more female than male companions.

It also features more nu-who than classic companions, but that’s understandable. They want to appeal to a wide audience, so they’re more likely to pick the more recognisable ones. I expect that’s why the only classic companion on the front cover has been a guest star in the new series.
