every other cyber story is out so why not

    • doctorfan

      December 12th, 2013 - 6:30am

when they are all out they might make a set with all of the classic cyber stories in 10th planet to silver nemesis £50

    • Lachie

      December 12th, 2013 - 6:35am

i doubt they’d release a story purely because it has Cybermen with 4 episodes missing.

    • Some bloke

      December 12th, 2013 - 9:26am

Yeah, seems ridiculous. When you put it like that, we might as well have all stories with missing episodes released individually, because that’s all we need, right? (Sarcasm)

Yeah. No wonder that Dr Who is the best science-fiction TV series in the world. Or probably not unless if you are a Star Trek or Wars fans. Anyway, yeah the best DVD cover you can get.

  • skaroman

    December 11th, 2013 - 2:58pm

The delay of the daleks has caused an uprising on skaroman. There will be a vote on who the next president of skaro will be. Who would you like?

    a. Darth Blade
    b. William Cyber-thing
    c. Skaroman Jr.

    • skaroman

      December 11th, 2013 - 2:59pm

Too late, skaroman wiped them out before the vote, he is now officially the president of skaro by default.

      All hail Skaroman!!!

When is a pre-order available for both The Moonbase and The Underwater Menace?

    • Johnny

      December 11th, 2013 - 8:28am

“The Underwater Menace” hasn’t been officially announced yet.

“The Moonbase” will be available to pre-order from early 2014.

This is Skaroman – President of Skaro speaking.

It is nice to see that a cover/artwork has been released after many months of waiting.

Anybody know any information regarding ‘The Underwater Menace’ regarding its DVD release next year.

Anybody with any information shall receive 1 million Daleks.

    • LG

      December 10th, 2013 - 5:18pm

The Underwater Menace will probably be released after The Web of Fear, probably February, March or April at the latest. A special edition of Earthshock appears to be on the cards as well since some deleted scenes were discovered.

    • skaroman

      December 10th, 2013 - 6:53pm

      Thank you for your cooperation.

Your 1 million daleks are on their way to you.

However, there have been major taxes on skaro and the postal deliveries have been cut back.

Therefore, your daleks should arrive in about 150 years.

Many apologies: Skaroman (president of skaro)

Maybe episode 1 and 4 discovered ??? hence the delay

    • Anonymous

      December 11th, 2013 - 3:04pm

It was delayed because they found The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear. There’s nothing more to it than that.

    • Some bloke

      December 11th, 2013 - 4:21pm

Well they said the reason for it’s delay was because they needed more time on the animation. S which is it
      1. More time for animation
      2. Because Enemy of the world release replaced it
      3. They’ve found episodes 1 and 4
I know which won I would love to be true 😉

all this fuss over do the bbc have lost episodes or not ..if they have them they should tell all my loyal fans ..just say we have them .THAT ALL THE BBCV HAVE TO SAY

    • HOWARD

      November 30th, 2013 - 9:26pm

Aggreed. The strongest rumours are Power of the Daleks and Marco Polo. Sorry to be pessimistic but if they had I would have thought they would have said at the anniversary. I might have forgiven them delaying an announcement until then, but that is all. I do agree with you they should say. Of course there are a few fans who love to know things and refuse to share it. It makes them feel important banging on about how they are mates with Steve Roberts/Broster or whatever he is called

    • Anonymous

      December 2nd, 2013 - 9:12pm

What everyone is forgetting with regards to this is that many of the episodes may not be back at the BBC yet. They could very well still be in the hands of the foreign broadcasters, so it isn’t for the BBC to start announcing they still exist yet otherwise we might never see them.

Also, even though they have the episodes back they are almost certainly not in a viewable state yet. Everyone seemed determined Marco Polo would be announced yesterday but it was simply impossible, the restoration if it has been happening cannot have finished yet.

    • 100000BC

      December 2nd, 2013 - 9:44pm

I think that MP and PotD are the most rumoured because they are probably the most wanted overall, being the earliest missing serial and Pat’s first serial respectively, both missing all episodes. The only thing I’m going to take from these rumours is that there is a very slight possibility that more have been uncovered.

    • gordon

      December 6th, 2013 - 9:52am

If the bbc put out denials every time a fake rumour started they would be forever making denials

    • Joe Roberts

      December 10th, 2013 - 7:05am

      I agree.

    • Johnny

      December 10th, 2013 - 9:56am

If the BBC (or whoever) have recovered any other episodes, we will all be told in the fullness of time.

In the meantime don’t believe any rumours and don’t spread them about either – be patient.

    • tardistraveller

      December 10th, 2013 - 7:44pm

I agree but i find it rather strange that as soon as the tenth planet was released and every1 thought it was the last in the range they happen to find 9 new episodes and a few deleted scenes to bring out on dvd…. coinsidance

    • Joe Roberts

      December 10th, 2013 - 8:55pm

I strongly agreed again. We do listen even as being Dr Who fan, we get excited when we hear something going-on. So better be patient and see whatever happens.

  • HornsOfAzal

    August 29th, 2013 - 9:42pm

Dependent on the quality of the docudrama performances but having seen the trouble they’ve gone to to recreate that beautiful Hartnell console Id say forget animations and try refilm to a few lost classics live and in colour… if the performances are good enough Id say why not try remaking Marco Polo, Galaxy 4 , Celstial Toymaker or even the Masterplan…..

    • the doctor

      October 14th, 2013 - 7:16pm

the bbc will only go to 2 episodes that shows how tight they are

    • the doctor

      October 14th, 2013 - 7:17pm

if you go on line you can watch a version of mission to the unknown animated ..they wont even put this on dvd

    • videogamemad00

      November 30th, 2013 - 7:34pm

It’s not them being tight. If they did any more they would not make enough profit.

    • HOWARD

      November 30th, 2013 - 9:23pm

Not make a profit? Well, they manage to make entire colour movie length animations related to the new series. So surely they will not lose profit on a few black and white episodes. When you think of the amount of fan produced stuff made for love on youtube. Some of which is astounding. And the Ice Warriors animation was an embarrassment. It was appalling. The lips and faces were okay, but the motion …. did anyone else notice the bit with Pat Troughton on all fours! I would expect more from a first year student. TERRIBLE.

    • gordon

      December 6th, 2013 - 10:07am

The classic series sells a fraction of what the current show does. Also as those modern cartoons were broadcast they can make their money back that way. Ice warriors animation was fine and very watchable and respectfully to the style of the show in the 60s. Regardless of how they do things people complain. Some liked reign some didn’t. Same with ice warriors and tenth planet and I guess with moonbase it will be the same.

    August 22nd, 2013 - 9:17pm

I heard today by someone who has good source.

That the enemy of the world dvd commentary is completed.

So I believe that we might find out about the enemy of the world release very soon

    • Alex Noonan

      August 27th, 2013 - 11:42am

What does this mean? That they’ve found a complete “Enemy of the World” or they’re animating them?

    • Some bloke

      August 28th, 2013 - 10:52pm

      well there are two possibilities
      1. They have found ‘the enemy of the world’, they wouldn’t animate 5 episodes, it’s way over their budget.
      2. this is just sammi hearing more rumours, which HAVE NOT been confirmed yet by anyone, the same as the rumours over the 90 missing episodes being returned to the BBC.

      (Continued in next post)

    • Some bloke

      August 28th, 2013 - 10:53pm

      (Continued)

Sammi is VERY unreliable when it comes to information like this. He keeps on posting videos on youtube claiming that every forthcoming issue of DWM has ‘a fake cover, and that they will announce the missing episode find’ Just wait for something on the BBFC website or to hear something from the restoration team/BBC. Something OFFICIAL 🙂

now lets look at the big picture ..over 100 episodes found ???? at the start of October bbc says ( 9 ) ??? yet enemy of the world is out next month ????..this says the bbc are telling us a few fibs as e.o.w will be out in less than a month with all new sound and better picture quality..???this says thay have had this for quite some time ..so how many more have they got ???the bbc want to make money and at this point in time have had animated episodes done ..if they do have missing eps then a secial dvd will be out .twice the money

‘The Moonbase’ is a very underrated adventure. Whilst it does have a lot in common with ‘The Tenth Planet’ I find ‘The Moonbase’ to be the better of the two. The Cybermen are much improved following on from their original appearance and Troughton has really settled into the role of the second Doctor by this point. ‘The Moonbase’ is a great story and my favourite from Season 4. It’s fantastic to see it released on DVD with animation for the missing episodes. One of my all time favourite Troughton stories! 🙂

Great news, especially as it a Troughton story.

Gonna stick my neck out here with this next bit…

I’d quite like to see Web of fear or Fury next but in an all animated edited version. I think that the 6 eps could be edited down to a movie length or 4 parter. It would be cheaper & cut out any padding. It’s just an idea, but think it’s worth considering if Worldwide decided to release a full animated story.

OK I’m gonna duck now as fear I may get shot down in flames for suggesting it. 😉

It says underwater menace is the last episode that has surviving footage that needs to be released and that we (DWM) expect it in 2014. No news on these monster collection DVDs as of yet though.

Can’t wait for this. Out october 21st? Wasn’t expecting that at all, thought it would be 2014.
And underwater menace likely for 2013 as well? This just gets better. Fingers crossed for The Crusade soon.
