Character Options Unveils New Scale Figures
In a golden year for Doctor Who, Character Options unveils a brand new scale to its figure collection
Doctor Who celebrates the 50th anniversary of the brand in 2013, Character Options commemorates with a new era for its action figures series.
After huge popular demand from fans, 2013 will see the launch of a range of new series 3¾ inch figures and playsets. The new collection will succeed the incredibly successful 5 inch figures portraying both characters and storylines from the new series including The Eleventh Doctor, his new companion Clara as well as many of the foes he has met over the past 50 years.
The new collection is to be released in June and will be unveiled at London Toy fair on 22-24 January 2013. Jon Diver, Managing Director of Character Options, commented: “With this being a very special year for the Doctor, we wanted to bring something brand new to the fans and our research has shown that the new 3 ¾” size is what the fans want. We appeal to both serious collectors and children and this new smaller figure allows the younger generation to collect their treasured Doctor Who figures more affordably, while presenting a brand new opportunity for adult fans to increase their portfolios.”
To complement the figure series, to-scale playsets will also be available. The Weeping Angel set will include the iconic but eerie New York backdrop from The Angels Take Manhatten together with exclusive cherub accessories. Another of the Doctor’s most iconic enemies will be encountered in the Dalek Playset set in a battle-scarred London.
To travel from one adventure to another, no new series would be complete without a TARDIS. The new 3 ¾” scaled Spin and Fly TARDIS has motion-activated interactive sound effects to bring the action to life.
Finally, fans will join in with the Doctor’s adventures with a new range of Heritage Sonic Screwdrivers, depicting the tools of past incarnations of the Doctor. Appealing to collectors and kids alike, choose from the Third, Fourth or Tenth Doctor’s Screwdriver or River Song’s Future Sonic, each highly detailed.
Character will also launch new construction figures and playsets in the Doctor Who Character Building range and news of new collections for late autumn will be released soon.
