I wonder if all the scenes on Daryl Joyce’s calendar are classic Who based. I like the ones we can see on the page.

Is that a different variety of Dalek with the union jack on it? I could never mke up my mind whether to get on last time they were in the shops. Never did. Often wonder when i see them whether I should have. Part of me really liked them but there was something about them which put me off too.

Its the old 12″ remote, the USA still has stocks, long sold out here. There was going to be a USA and Australian one but they never got made apart from some prototypes.

More I look more I wish I’d got one. It’s like that note pad issued decades ago which had the head of Mrs Thatcher on a daleks body – a novelty item.

    • prototype dalek

      September 5th, 2024 - 9:15am

Only the standard union jack one was made. For the prototypes at least 4 12″ USA Daleks were made and 1 5″ version, a gold union jack dalek, 1 black union jack dalek and a 5″ version of the 12″ dalek. There may have been more but those are all the known ones.

Usually I’d go on Ebay. Type in 1996 Dreamtex Dr Who Single Duvet and see what comes up Usually a few items will pop up and hopefully give you an idea what they are selling for.

Or just use the Auction offer on Ebay and let people bid on it to find it’s true Value.
You can always put a reserve on the price to make sure it sells for a decent price or if the price is not met it won’t sell.
      You can’t go wrong really.

Does anyone know if “More Than 30 Years In The TARDIS” is included in any of The Collection blurays?
Or perhaps can anyone hazard a guess as to whether it will be included on a future season?
I know there was a DVD release a while ago and I’d love to watch it but don’t want to end up with 2 copies! Many thanks.

It was Nathan David ward who made the comments. I automatically thought he might have been referring to one of his prints but he said ‘Someting believed lost forever to return soon’. It was this which piqued my interest.

Was it recently? If so, might be the Emperor Davros that was thought lost forever but is about to be released again. If it was a while ago, might be The Mutants 3D print released by Al Dewar, but that was a few months ago.

Troy is a very decent bloke who allows his STLs to be freely available to anyone who wants to print these off who has a printer. There are more than a few who take advantage of his generosity and some who make a living off these. On the plus side anyone who doesnt own a printer its good news as it allows them also to acquire more 3D prints and in Theos case it it is just practice and inspires him to make more creations of his own rather than just fall back on the limited choices left by someone else.

    • Anon

      August 29th, 2024 - 8:22pm

Totters yard are great, and are 3D printed to a higher level and a continuation of what eaglemoss started. Unfortunately not everyone has the painting skills and in a few years to come there will be others that are inspired who will have figurines on the same level already painted to sell.
Totters yard do tend to stick to the easier paints which i suppose is a good thing for a novice.

Hi Cully’s Pal, I believe that the Day of the Daleks plate was intended as the first of a series in 1999, but was ultimately the only one produced. According to David J Howe’s Transcendental Toybox there were only around 50 produced, so it’s quite a rare piece of merchandise (assuming a further batch hasn’t been produced subsequently).

Gordon, I don’t know if this as been mentioned before. (It probably has been loads of times). I know It’s probably Guess work but what do you think will happen for the Cover of the Season 4 Blu-Ray Collection. Do you think they’ll only be Patrick Troughton on the Cover?

    • Mrs Croot

      August 26th, 2024 - 6:23pm

Snowman, don’t forget season 21. Even though it’s a one story difference in contribution between hartnell and baker in those seasons, for some reason I’m sure 21 will only be a 5th Doctor cover but I am not sure what season 4 will be. My best guess is it’ll be a 2nd Doctor cover but 1 might be down amongst the tiny monsters.

    • Snowman

      August 26th, 2024 - 7:01pm

Mrs Croot, I think that would be Great to have a large Patrick Troughton on the Cover with a Small William Hartnell down below with the rest of the Monsters. (Im not sure if that will happen though).

    • MDS

      August 26th, 2024 - 8:59pm

For seasons 4 and 21 why not have one of those lenticular (I think they are called) pictures where you see one doctor, then tilt it, and see the other. May add some expense but I think it would look good.

    • Gordon

      August 26th, 2024 - 9:41pm

Lee binding has pretty much said it’s the predominant doctor that will get the cover so troughton for 4 and Davison for 21.

Booboo, i contacted master replicas regarding the slightly misleading way they have used collector club and then given another company the figurines – that they initially announced the licence for. Ill be truthful, as always, and i think its a bit of a scam. I never bought into the £80 collector club because it seemed ridiculous to pay a subscription for access to buy expensive figurines. I have had a response to my emails. And one of the perks to getting collectors club is that it should be, and i quote “ The 10% you save on every order should build up throughout the year to ensure you have already saved what the subscription cost, if you’re an active buyer with us.” – so no worries if you collect exclusively dr who. Just gotta spend over £800 to get your subscription money back, and its a large array to choose from… zavvi do red carpet for £9.99 a year and you get all the same bonuses. Other than the figurines which you STILL have to buy. I pointed out that perhaps a tier/category subscription service for franchises may work out better, but the way i see it, is that they mislead people with announcements. Seems slightly unfair on those with 10% off, for pieces that they probably already have.

    • booboo

      August 21st, 2024 - 12:43pm

I wouldn’t call it a scam, the mistake they made was thinking everyone collected multiple franchises in which case it was good value.

But just for Doctor Who it was never going to be worth it. The vast majority of collectors would have already bought the previous releases.

    • WhoCollector

      August 21st, 2024 - 1:24pm

Booboo, i dont have an issue with the idea of multiple franchises etc. hell they could even drop the 10% off thing. Why does it have to specifically be £80 to get access to exclusives. That bit doesnt make sense to me. Id understand if it was say £10 for a year and then you can get access to buying exclusives for that year. But £80 + whatever the cost of the exclusives are… thats so self sabotaging. Also, what do you have to be thinking to think everyone that buys from you is in all the fandoms you are selling products of… it is near impossible to recoup the benefits of the 10% off, especially with the lacking few months of barely anything worthy being dropped. It just seems a ridiculous concept, but the ironic thing is – it works for so many other stores when implemented correctly.

    Email From Sci-fi collector….

“We are delighted to announce that the story continues. More figures are on the way.

It was obvious there remained an appetite for a continuation of the stunning Eaglemoss series and we have spent months in discussions and negotiations to secure a further instalment of figures, production of which has been taken over by a new licensee. We will start to release these exclusively during the Autumn.

These are all limited editions of 750 figures and each will be individually numbered. There will be one large Special that will be limited to just 250 units.

Master replicas have the licence, it looks like they are selling the figurines exclusively to scifi collector now

Perhaps MR will continue with the ships / Tardis etc

Where this leaves those who joined the collectors club for early access and 10% off who knows, so far they have had nothing from it as far as new products go.

    • Anon

      August 21st, 2024 - 9:58am

Ben Robinson did say that new figurines were being made some months ago, whether or not this means there are 2 separate licences, its unclear.
Scifi collector could just be concentrating on those ‘deep dives’ that Eaglemoss had planned and MR may have the licence to sell from the new series as well as those consoles and ships that were promised but so far have not yet delivered. Communication on their part has been dire.

    • daz

      August 21st, 2024 - 12:12pm

The way I read the email is that Sci-fi are potentially doing the last of the Eaglemoss figurines (upto 250). The mega will most likely be the 11th Doctor as that reached the prototype stage.

However, MR really need to communicate now. I see them still doing their range but maybe it is just for 60th onwards along with vehicles, Tardis and Consoles.

Scifi will probably charge £30-£40 for their exclusives though as they overprice everything they sell.

I’m done with the range though as a completionist. 219 was my last figurine although I bought the final 2 Daleks.

(For those who don’t know, the SDCC and presumably the online exclusive editions of the 15th doctor sonic has a secret mode if you press the button 20 times, hold it down and open the magnifying thingy on the side, which turns it into a laser screwdriver)

i see Ok, they were solicited (made available to order) to retailers weeks ago but i wasn’t aware that was a green light for a selected few to put them up for pre-order to the public.

I Don’t think they have the stock yet. It was meant to come out on the 15th Aug but went to sold out on that day which seems to point it not being in stock.

I have a used 12″ Gold Dalek, remote-controlled that I wish to sell. It is a discontinued Product Enterprise Ltd model in excellent working condition, in the original box. Only big kids have played with this Dalek. What price should I ask for this collectable?

if its the all gold one with black hemispheres then up to £150 if its all complete and working and the box is in good order, an unboxed one sold for £80 recently, i would start it higher but look for best offers, a dealer will give you considerably less.

This is a good listing as well

      https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_BBC_VHS_releases

I’ve now got all the vhs covers I had many moons ago with only the original revenge of the cybermen (with esrthshock cyberman) and the five doctors (andrew skilleter cover) missing. Frankly they are far too expensive to get. I have literally just ordered today the original brain of morbius cover which was at a really decent price.

    • Bookcollector

      August 16th, 2024 - 5:15pm

Just managed to get an original skilleter five doctors video for a decent (under £30) price. Only the revenge video missing now but that one seems impossible to get. Never even seen it for sale. There are plenty of the correct image versions which I have one of but none of the earthshock version. I have all of the others videos again now so one missing isn’t going to upset me as I have all of ones I used to own.

The last Doctor Who VHS came out before I was even born but I do have a small enough nice collection.
Have a seales Caves of Androzani with shrink wrapping still on it. Any idea of value?
Also have Androids of Tara cover signed by Mary Tamm

    • Bookcollector

      August 17th, 2024 - 12:49am

Signed covers average around £25-45 but really it depends on what someone is willing to pay. I gave my videos to my brother as the DVDs came out and last year I took them back as he was downsizing. I hadn’t given him all of them so I got back about 80%. For the ones I didn’t have I used Ebay and paid £30 for the 1993 dalek tin but generally it was between £5-10 for the rest. Again though it depends entirely on what someone is willing to pay. One thing is that the videos aren’t particularly rare in most cases. Really it’s only the very early ones that came out first, revenge of the cybermen, brain of morbius and five doctors that are hugely expensive. I paid just over £30 for a 1984 brain video and most of the ones I’d seen were over £200 pounds. Five doctors is similar I’ve ordered one from America for £26 including postage which is excellent as the skilleter cover ones are again normally around the £200 mark.

Thanks for the links to the 2 lists. Really wanted one similar to the ones on here but best I can get. I had a load of VHS anyway but managed to by 80 off Facebook quite cheap. Now just need to sort doubles and see what I’m still missing. About 20 so far I’ve got doubled up.

I reckon they’ll announce then in the next week, judging by when they were last year. But then again, there’s only one wave this year if the rumours (or leaks?) are to be believed, so maybe they’ll wait a bit. Hmmm. Not sure, but I hope it’s soon!

    • John

      August 8th, 2024 - 3:47pm

Not rumour or leak, the information was passed on by B&M and published on the B&M sets facebook page. One wave in 2 releases.

Yeah that’s true, booboo said ‘new new series’ not ‘new series’, hence the assumption of RTD2. Might’ve been a typo by booboo though, as he might’ve meant ‘said to be new series’ instead of ‘said to new new series’.

    • Martino

      August 12th, 2024 - 11:22am

As this must be the last of the Classic History of the Daleks sets, I’m wondering hie future D as Lee sets will be themed? Back to four figure sets would of be good, in chronological order again (for example, new Imperial, Renegade, Supreme and Emperor)

    • anon

      August 13th, 2024 - 3:38am

No, I expect 3 more ‘History Of The Daleks’ sets – Maybe more?

    • Martino

      August 13th, 2024 - 12:12pm

Yes, but they’re not Classic HotD – all the classic era stories have now been covered – Destiny, Revelation, Resurrection & Remembrance have all been done.

    • Scotel

      August 13th, 2024 - 1:50pm

There’s nothing requiring them to be “classic”. They have started sets from the 21st century stories and I expect that to continue.

    • Martino

      August 13th, 2024 - 3:49pm

My post clearly states that I’m talking about Classic series HotD sets.

    • The Outcast

      August 13th, 2024 - 3:54pm

You never know, they might do a Remembrance set #2. An Imperial Dalek with the destroyed Imperial Dalek would be good, especially if they gave them updated midsections with the new chunkier band to match up with the Renegades + the additional gunbox detailing that the Imperials had.

Also worth noting that NuWho has featured classic style Daleks in stories such as Asylum of the Daleks and the Series 9 opener. I imagine we’ll see sets based on both of those stories in due time, if the line continues to that point.

And all of this isn’t going into non-TV based sets, such as comic/audio Dalek designs or even some from the stageplays.

    • Fh

      August 14th, 2024 - 3:13pm

That’s a very good point. I’m looking forward to the witches familiar set. 60’s daleks witu blue painted eyes and midsections, I suspect? Would be an easy variant for them to make. Thank you, Outcast, you’ve made me realise the fascinating possibilities we have to look forward to.

    • John Whitehouse

      August 15th, 2024 - 8:47am

Considering you can still buy some of last years sets in a lot of B&Ms I’m surprised they are doing any (clearly the reduction to 4 sets reflects this). personally if I were them I’d stick to just Daleks and possibly other monsters (Cybers?) as clearly other figures are not good sellers – spare Timelord anyone?
I wouldn’t get excited about masses of potential new series classics from Asylum, Witches Familiar and the like.
For the record I hope I’m wrong!

Waterstones had all four new target books in stock online on Tuesday and now church on ruby road is no longer in stock which is annoying as they have sent the other three tonight. No idea what happened to church unless they only received a small proportion of there stock for that one. Happy the others have been sent but it’s still frustrating that all four were in stock two days ago!
