B&M 3 figure sets are $49.99 in the USA not the $19.99 originally listed

      Wow what a rip off

    • booboo

      July 7th, 2020 - 5:57pm

not really, i suspect some import/export shipping costs are at play here, they were always this price when UT sold them (the B&M sets)

there have always been huge price discrepancies between countries on CO sets

i think who ever set that site up just put in the UK £1 price as a place holder

    • Luck4UNow

      July 8th, 2020 - 8:05am

B&M sets were never sold in the US at $49.99. In fact, no figure 3-pack imported directly by a distributor (such as UT, WhoNA, or others) was ever sold at $49.99. $39.99 was the highest they went for. Now the exchange rate is more favourable to the US dollar, so these are even more expensive than any previous set (comes out to double the UK price, 39 pounds or so).

In terms of Tardises, $44.99 was the cost of Electronic Tardises way back when. If these outrageous prices are due to import/export costs, then why is the 13th Doctor Electronic Tardis priced a $29.99, while the non-electronic 2nd Doctor Tardis is at $44.99?

Sadly, I think they are taking advantage of the American market’s limited options, like any Amazon merchant. The North America Doctor Who “shop” is not here to “help” Doctor Who fans, they are profiting off their misfortunes- and at quite a laughable rate, too.

      July 8th, 2020 - 9:03am

i seem to remember some or the early sets were $50 at sdcc when UT imported them (and they went going to initially ) but i may have got that wrong then but don’t shoot the messenger we have no control over what this “shop” does

    • booboo

      July 8th, 2020 - 9:09am

yes just found the picture they were $40, but several years ago and at that time £12.99 in B&M

What people need to do is find out exactly who is behind this shop and challenge them on their “laughable” prices.

      Hi booboo,

I hope you don’t think I was having a go at you ! You’re the one providing us with amazing service, updates and news on this site.

Perhaps what has made the US price rise so stark is because this “site,” being touted as an official North American distributor and the official involvement of CO got our hopes up. UT never put prices so high (and at a time the exchange rate was more in favor of the pound).

But the fact that their prices are way above previous Doctor Who releases, it feels as almost like ebay scalpers are running this enterprise. I am personally trying to find ways to contact them on this matter….

    • booboo

      July 8th, 2020 - 11:56am

no worries, was just really making the point the these have always been much more in the states (and Australia for that matter)

I think many (including me) thought as this appears to be run “in house” that the prices in the UK and USA were now in line so this as come as a bit of a shock to many.

Its almost like they are having to buy at full retail ship to the states and sell on ( also Amazon charge to sell under their fulfilment programme as well) I sometimes think buyers on ebay don’t realise sellers have to pay 10% on goods and postage and then paypal fees. you can Wright off nearly 15% sometimes

Does anyone know how to fix back on the arm to an action figure without it losing articulation?

Many of the B&M sets I’ve bought over the last 2 years, the arms to some have just come off without any force, just fell off like it was never properly in. The box hasn’t been damaged in my care and I open there carefully. I can’t take them back either as I buy them months before I give them as a present. But it’s happened so many times now with these new sets it’s really annoying. I’ve no doubt the already easy to break Daleks will break even easier. Any advice?

      July 8th, 2020 - 9:36am

Has the arm come off at the bicep or the shoulder? Also is the peg still attached to the arm, or has it broken inside the figure? :))

Some ideas for next year if CO aren’t doing a 5th doctor companions set:

I’d love to see a tenth planet b&m set with:
Polly using a jo grant body
Ben using a new wraparound on a Mickey Smith figure
1st doctor in cape with white scarf (possibly a David Bradley head sculpt?)
(Ben and Polly could double for both the 1st and 2nd doctor as companions, like peri for 5 and 6)

Another UNIT set but throughout the ages:
Liz Shaw using a Jo Grant body for a silurians look
Brigadier Bambera using a Martha Jones last of the time lord body
Kate Stewart using a school reunion Sarah Jane for her death in heaven look
(I would’ve included Osgood but I don’t know what parts they could use)

A 2010s set of villains that you could army build:
Whsiperman using a snowmen 11th doctor body
Kerblam man using a new wraparound on a brigadier figure
Cybus design cybermen with blue chest plate from the blink and you miss it scene in the doctor falls where the cybermen are about to take off from floor 1056, it would give us a new variant and something to display with the 12th doctor

      A first doctor villains set:
Voord using axon man with new lower legs and head
      Sensorite using same as above
Celestial toymaker using a Magnus Greeley body roughly could work??

A Tardis set idea is a logopolis set with a season 18 4th doctor and the remodelled newberry Tardis with a stacked roof that could use the colour scheme of the 2019 Shada set but with the stacked roof

Have character looked into doing a collect and build figure in the sets as well, they could make a new sculpt and spread the parts among all the sets, i.e. a 2013 cybermen split into a chest and torso piece, right leg, left leg, right arm, left leg and head totaling 6 parts to collect

Booboo is the peladon tardis meant to have a snapped lamp, I bought owner when it came out and the lamp was snapped so I sent it back and got a family member to pick one up where they lived. Cause of covid19 I’ve only got it today and this one also has this problem so I’m wondering is it intentional or a common factory mistake

Has everybody seen some of the newer Doctor Who Big Chief Figures? The newest one I saw was the classic MASTER! He looks great!
    (See link below for photos)

And also they are making the 6th Doctor in his colorful coat! (See link below for photos)They only show the body and can’t see The headsculpt yet but if the others in Big Chiefs line up are anything to go by, then I think the head(s) will look smashing. The headsculpts only improve with each figure done. I think so at least. Anyway. It’s going to be an expensive question Chief year for me with All the Classic Doctor Who items!!

Well I’ve done it. Starting on the 1st September 2019 on the day terrance dicks died I read web of fear. And on the 30th June 2020 I finished my 89th Terrance book ending with the seeds of death. Oh it was such good fun reading them all again. Even his simplest book was enjoyable to read. Too many favourites to name but it was my personal tribute to an author who got me reading aged 6. Terrance dicks… gone but definitely not forgotten.

    • daz

      July 3rd, 2020 - 12:49am

      Excellent. A really nice tribute.

    • Doctor…Who?

      July 8th, 2020 - 7:13am

The day Terrance…. passed away, I just read the Auton Invasion. I didn’t read anything else at all. I finished it and as I did I realised the world would never be the same again. I only found out about target books 2 years ago, when I saw I had a small collection of untouched books, and what do you know, they were all by Terrance! So I started to collect them, and then read them the first one I got was An Unearthly Child, the last one I got was the Macra Terror (£30!)
So there was a slight dip in the timeline, the 7th doctor and ace walking off into the sunset, and then he regenerates into Patrick Troughton. But the rest I got in order. My favourites were, of course, Terrance’s. And, Whorules, yes, he is gone, but he will never be forgotten.
