B&M 2023 The History of the Daleks 14 Revelation of the Daleks

This set contains 2x Daleks from Revelation of the daleks with:
- lifted neck bins
- New eyestalk
- New dome lights
- Updated chunkier front shoulder sections.

From the 1985 episode of the Revelation of the Daleks, this set includes 2 Necros Daleks. In this adventure, the Sixth Doctor and his companion Peri arrive on the bleak planet of Necros to attend the funeral of old friend Arthur Stengos but find Davros lurking in the catacombs below.
He is in the process of creating a new Dalek by harvesting tissue cells from the dead. His extortionate demands on the leader of the Tranquil repose facility led to the need to assassinate him. Behind the scenes, four new props were required and departed from their original design. These off-white and gold Daleks have steeper skirts, ‘lifted’ neck bins, a new chunkier style shoulder section, dome lights and a different eyestalk.
These new sets will be available in coming weeks at local B&M Stores and with and SRP of £34.99 for the TARDIS sets and £24.99 for the Dalek Sets. (prices may differ in store)

Master, Tom and Timelord/Borusa.
One existing figure and two that just need different heads on the same body. Seems reasonable I think.

Also, in that reveal video image I saw on this post (Didn’t play the actual video.) what’s with the Remembrance Of The Daleks shuttle craft? That for show or for eventual sale?

Cause it hasn’t. Especially the Supreme Dalek from that story which only ever had 1 release ever. They would just need to do a Drone/Supreme 2-pack release and that’s it. Or maybe even a Davros and Supreme if they don’t wanna do a drone.

August 18th, 2023 - 3:36pmIt doesn’t make much sense to skip Resurrection. Because, wasn’t the Supreme Dalek only ever available in the Resurrection box set? People might not have had a chance to get it back then. Then again, the Suicide Dalek was only ever available in a box set and it was not released (Yet.) in a Destiny Of The Daleks HOTD set. If CO is concentrating only on variations with the HOTD sets, then it does make some sense.

1. Why after a year of waiting do we only get three sets, 2 of which are HOTD?
2. Why is the Revelation HOTD set numbered #14 and not #15?
3. Why choose 2 Necros Imperial Drones instead of 1 Necros Drone and a Clear/mutated Walter Stengos Dalek?
4. Where did Al Dewar get the Imperial Dalek shuttle from?
5. Why are the SRP’s so high now!?
I will of course acquire the whole wave, provided as the Tardis set gets out to enough stores; and our local scalper doesn’t buy everything first…
Here’s hoping there’s another wave this year (besides a 60th anniversary one).

August 17th, 2023 - 8:06am1. Probably because there’s lots of new figures coming for the 60th anniversary as general retail releases and online exclusives (heavily rumoured)
2. The new series Dalek Sets may not necessarily be in episode specific order, so the Resurrection set may still come out yet, just not in episode order numbering.
3. To maximise the use of the new tooling created for this new Dalek variant (thicker chest, new eye stalk, new dome lights).
4. Santa clause. He’s been good this year.
5. Pretty obvious in the grand scheme of the state of the UK right now.

August 16th, 2023 - 4:01pmI think that’s a very unreasonable expectation with how minimal they are with new tooling xD And even if they had the budget, I don’t think they’d make that into a figure. A statuette like Eaglemoss, sure, but as an action figure, no.

August 16th, 2023 - 2:22pmI’m guessing that they’ll release a second Revelation set like they did for Planet, so the renegades probably won’t be missed. That being said, I’m surprised there’s no variation between the two Daleks (from what I can tell). Actually, I say that but then I can’t think of how they’d variate the two, but I just assume there must be some unique differences between props, but maybe I’m wrong.

Perhaps it’s the result of a shrinking budget/fallout from the ill judged three packs that didn’t shift.
