November 11th, 2021 - 3:04pmWith the sad passing of Bob Baker I wonder what will happen with the K9 plans? I seem to remember they were doing a film & then re-decided to go back to the TV Series format? Bob by all accounts was also heavily involved with the Cutaway Comics comic range & featured various characters of his.

November 6th, 2021 - 11:02pmVery sad news. Thoughts with his family, friends and colleagues.
An enormous television legacy, ‘Doctor Who’ and beyond and of course did what very few ever do. Gave us a character in K-9 that made a real mark in popular culture and one that will no doubt outlive us all.
One day I must watch ‘Sky’ again…I have very hazy childhood memories of it.

November 7th, 2021 - 11:30amNever heard of alot of stuff he wrote like Sky, King of the Castle or Into the Labyrinth.

RIP Bob.

November 7th, 2021 - 11:42amNo, definitely never watched them. Just been checking small clips out on YouTube, thought I might have seen them but just forget about them. Trying to rekindle my memory.
Shame really, I would have loved shows like this in the seventies when I was only around 10.

November 5th, 2021 - 9:50pmThe Mutants is sadly often overlooked and underrated. Personally I think its a smasher, the idea of the mutation actually being natural development is brilliant and the giant Skybase looks superb. A story Id very much like to have seen a sequel too.

November 7th, 2021 - 1:21amI think the mutants is a decent story, I’ve always enjoyed reading the Terrance book but I don’t think the TV version is the best executed story in the letts era. It’s by no means terrible though and I’ve enjoyed watching it over the years. A case of good story, no so great TV. It’s the same with eden. Great story but poorly made. (I still love watching eden though as it’s fun.)

November 5th, 2021 - 6:18pmReally sad news and a great Who writer from some of my favourite era’s of the classic series. Personal favourites are The Claws of Axos, The Three Doctors and The Sontaran Experiment. RIP Bob.

November 6th, 2021 - 9:43amThose are also my top 3 favourite stories from the pens of Bob Baker and Dave Martin. 1st ‘The Three Doctors’ (Outstanding). 2nd ‘The Sontaran Experiment’ (Brilliant), 3rd ‘The Claws of Axos’ (Underrated).

November 5th, 2021 - 3:13pmCo writer of two of my all time favourite Who’s ,my second and third favourites from the Pertwee era and a two part Baker which absolutely thrashes any current 50 minute episodes and shows how the Sontarans should be used in Doctor Who. A very sad loss to the world of Doctor Who whose works with co author Dave Martin will be well remembered for a long time to come. Not one poor story between them.

November 5th, 2021 - 2:59pmFantastic writer. Co-created some of the most memorable stories in Classic Who. Will certainly be missed and remembered.

November 5th, 2021 - 2:12pmRip Bob Baker, such a sad loss and the loss of the last surviving 3rd doctor writer. Nightmare of Eden and claws of axos are some of my favourite stories he wrote/ co-wrote. It’s only going to make the in conversation with him on season 17 Blu Ray boxset even more poignant and important to watch

November 5th, 2021 - 1:59pmGoodbye Bob. Will have to watch a who and a Wallace later on this week in tribute.

November 5th, 2021 - 1:31pmAnother great writer gone. He and writing partner Dave Martin left us with such a legacy of landmark television. Every year religiously around Halloween when the nights draw in i settle to some of my 1970s childhood tv for nostalgia. These include King of the Castle and Sky. And with all those writing credits, classic who and the wonderful K-9 they achieved so much and kept generations of fans happy.
RIP Bob Baker. You will be missed.

November 5th, 2021 - 1:23pmGreat writer. 50 years ago Bob Baker and Dave Martin wrote their first televised Doctor Who script, ‘The Claws of Axos’. Very good story, although ‘The Three Doctors’ is probably my favourite of their stories.
