I seem to be the only one who is very disappointed by the likeness of Tom Baker. To me It looks more like the actor Del Henny from Resurrection of the Daleks than Tom.
I was really looking forward to getting this, but now I’m having second thoughts.

Oddly this is only £85.49 at FP compared to £149.99 at Eaglemoss

This figure makes me think that Boris Johnson in a wig is standing in for Tom in the 60th anniversary special.

It’s still a decent likeness though, one of EM’s best human figurines so far. Now make a set of Dalek Master Plan ambassadors please.

I wonder how much a DMP set would cost.

If it were up to £100 i,d pay out but it would also need to include zephon as well or at the very least the doctor disguised as him. People pay as much for the megas and the Harrops.

Assuming it contained all 7 delegates + Mavic Chen I reckon a DMP set would be at least £80. I’d pay £100+. As Ergon said folks pay as much for Harrops & 150 for megas. This would be a dream set, so I’d pay whatever the asking price tbh.

Pleased I’m not the only one who likes the ambassadors/delegates designs. EM are extremely good when it comes to aliens and creatures, and I can easily imagine the results they’d achieve. If classic and aliens are good sellers usually, perhaps a little series of sets would be possible? As we were talking about in another thread, it wouldn’t be the first time Master Plan was split up into multiple releases. Maybe the display boxes could be designed so that there’s a pop up cardboard table from Mission and pop up desks from Day of Armageddon, so you could build a diorama. Cardboard seems the thing to add value these days – you can double the price of a blu-ray by adding a slipcase, poster and art cards and people rush to buy them, even when offered the choice simultaneously. If card + creativity = cash, Clayton Hickman could no doubt make something too cool to resist.

I’d like to see all the DMP Delagates made by Eaglemoss aswell. It’s something different that never gets made usually.

Their usually around the 100 pound mark. But if you don’t mind waiting they generally go on different sales after awhile. Some sales are half price.

If the paint apps are good then I’d get this. I’d prefer to see the actual figure I’m getting though. The photo looks impressive.

The Mega editions always come in a windowless box, so even if these figurines still made it into the shops like their smaller cousins used to do, you still wouldn’t be able to check them for quality, breakages or paint apps etc.

Are eaglemoss aiming to produce megas of all of the Doctors ? Be nice to pick and choose now. Presumably in scale with previous megas – daleks Davros etc.

I don’t usually get the ‘megas’ although I did pick up K9 in a sale but this one I may just have to save up for. It is a lovely sculpt from a fabulous story!

Oh and Neil, if you read this, hope it’s not too forward to say congratulations on the arrival of Molly!

I hope they scale this down and make a regular size version. It’s the one we need to go with the two Romanas.

That’s a really superlative sculpt of the beloved Fourth Doctor and excellent paintwork too. Good work EM! You’ve captured not just a Doctor, but THE Doctor – the definite article, you might say…. It deserves to sell really well.

As soon as they make a series 4 Davros mega figurine they can take all my money at once but for now this will just hover around in my periphery until I see it reduced and at half price. That’s how I bagged the weeping angel for 50 quid. Bargain

Cheers, Alvin. Do not ask how much of a nightmare the scarf was 🙂 The magazine that comes with it is one of the favourite things we’ve done.

The scarf is truly beautiful! Those tassels must have been fun to sculpt.

I always wished they had marketed proper versions of Tom’s paint and palette badge set (the Abbyshot version didn’t have them as separate pins) and his flying duck badges from ‘Kroll’…maybe some of Colin’s cat badges too…could be a nice if limited line of merchandise!

    • Coleman

      August 22nd, 2021 - 11:08am

Hello Doug, I don’t see why Eaglemoss couldn’t make the badges you suggest as just a continuation of the pin set their making already.

    • Neil Corry

      August 22nd, 2021 - 3:56pm

To Doug and Coleman: they’re already someone else’s merchandise.

    • Coleman

      August 22nd, 2021 - 4:58pm

Sorry Neil, didn’t know they’d already been done. Apart from Big Chief making them in the 1:6 scale of course.

    • Doug Who

      August 22nd, 2021 - 7:56pm

I thought Abbyshot had stopped making ‘Who’ stuff, if that’s what you meant of course. Although very nice indeed, they didn’t get their pins quite right and I don’t think anyone has ever done the ‘Kroll’ flying ducks sadly…never found a similar set! I remember aeons ago buying a limited exact replica Colin cat badge from the maker of the original, I think before he’d even made his debut on telly!

      August 22nd, 2021 - 8:42pm

depends on who has the licence, FP have done costume badges of late but as abbyshot has covered most bases and their badges were sold off for next to nothing i doubt there would be the demand for another run with a new licence holder at the moment.

    • Doug Who

      August 22nd, 2021 - 10:41pm

Yes that’s very true Booboo. The Abbyshot badges came down in price pretty quickly. I did get an email answer from them quite a few years ago now saying they were looking into more badges but clearly nothing came of it.

Random thought. Perhaps the different badges the Doctor wore (different incarnations) weren’t just ‘badges’. Perhaps they were some piece of Time Lord technology equipped with a tiny chameleon circuit to make them/it look like badges or lapel pins (piece of celery)?

If it is a piece of kit, I wonder what it would be.

Then again, maybe they were just badges after all.
