Due to the many errors present on this calendar, it has now successfully became a meme amongst the Whovian community

I’m sure some will possibly disagree with this, but for me the novelty of seeing a gathering of all the Doctors on a calendar has long since worn off. We know what to expect now: every month there’ll be a picture of each Doctor, surrounded by images of monsters and companions etc, a quote and maybe a small bio. A great idea initially – especially for the 50th and then Capaldi coming in – but I think something different needs to be done soon for these ‘Classic’ calendars. By no means am I dismissing the idea of a calendar with greater scope of the last five decades, but widen it a bit: monsters, villains, memorable moments etc. The retro comics one a couple of years ago was a good starting point, with the Fourth Doctor, Tenth Planet Cyberman and the Zygons included amongst an array of modern stuff. Something like that, but with a bit more balance of Classic and New would be very welcome – especially as there won’t be any room for all the Dcotors next year anyway!!

Just noticed they put the tetrap with the 6th Doctor Month, should have made sure it was all correct before final design

I believe that is only there because it has Mel in it

Hilariously, the quote under Jon Pertwee’s picture is from the Master, not the Doctor, but the caption reads:

“I ONLY NEED TWO THINGS. YOUR SUBMISSION AND YOUR OBEDIENCE TO MY WILL.”
      THIRD DOCTOR

….gives a whole new meaning to the so-called UNIT dating controversy

The would of been approved by the BBC and the BBC gave them the reference material. Once again BBC worldwide show they don’t know the series that well..get fans to do research .

They’ve put series 2 rose with the ninth doctor and that messes with my OCD

…along with the Tetrap/Mel picture on Colin Baker’s page – the sixth Doctor didn’t appear in much of that story!

What’s irritating me is the fact that on the back cover there’s a random gap between 9 and 10, shoving 11 down to the bottom. And 12 doesn’t have a hexagon. No big deal but just thought it’s strange.

Not for me then, since I’m a Doctor Who fan, not a “true Whovian”.

It says this calendar is for “True Whovians”. I think they are saying they aren’t a “True Whovian”

Some people despise the term “Whovian”. Personally I think it’s a stupidly unnecessary term. There is simply no need for an extra label. Nothing wrong with plain old “Doctor Who fan”.

I agree with ahunter, I’ve never really liked the term “whovian”. I just call myself a Doctor Who fan

Well, back in the days of the Classic series, “Whovian” was a term only used in the US. Over here in the UK we were straightforward Doctor Who Fans.

(I think most true Whovians and Doctor Who Fans would have problems with some of the photo inconsistencies…!)

So can you switch out what Doctor you want for December or something? Because it says the first and the twelveth Doctor for December

No first is Dec 2017 and twelve is Dec 2018, it’s a 13 month calendar.

Think I’ll be getting this one for next year, there’s some lovely uncommon pictures of the doctors, nice design and finally the war doctor!

I wouldn’t pay much attention to that, Capaldi is also listed for December on the back cover.

      August 9th, 2017 - 9:50pm

Yes Hartnell December 17, Capaldi December 18.

      August 9th, 2017 - 10:31pm

Are you sure? There’s no mention of it being a 13 month calendar.

I assumed there’d just be a poster in the middle like the other calendars.

Go to the Danilo link at the top of this page.

Click on quick view on said calendar and see for yourself.

It shows the Hartnell page as December 2017 and Capaldi as December.

Yeah, whoops! I missed the year.

That’s a bit weird. Weirder still that there’s no mention in the description. I guess they really wanted all the Doctors in there.

I like this. If you look on Danilo’s site there are a couple of examples of pages. It’s a bit different which is nice.

My only query is that they’ve put John Hurt on a page meaning Hartnell is December 2017. For those of us who get the calendar for Christmas we only have thje first Doctor on display for a week, but get Hurt who was in a single episode for a full month.

Hope they don’t do this next year or poor Bill won’t see light of day at all.
