Dr Who Figurine Collection #52 Handbot

Issue 52 is available to order individually from www.forbiddenplanet.com

Celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who this fantastic new figurine collection. The series draws from every era show and includes all eleven versions of the Doctor plus his greatest monsters.

All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered. The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

I was very disappointed with the Handbot figurine that I was sent, it had fault where the painter had painted over a hair on the face of the figurine making it look unsightly, thankfully customer support will be sending me a replacement.

yes their hasn’t been a “bad” figure for ages now, almost wish they would do some of the early Doctors again, particularly the 4th.10th and 11th

I’m not the same ‘anonymous’ but we also needed a minotaur, headless monk, female peg doll, AGMGTW cyberleader, a ganger or two, old amy, dorium, madame kaverian, madame vastra, jenny, while we’re at it we might as well ask for a Hitler figure ( after all, we already have churchill)

I agree, they always have so much potential for great figures. Look what series 6 figures we could have had:

      GITD Siren
      Pirate hat Doctor
      Gangers
      Madame Kovarian
      Dorium
      Headless Monks
      Antibodies
      Peg Dolls
      Minotaur
      Handbot
      Old Amy
Eye patch variant Doctor, River, Rory, Amy
      Wooden King and Queen

Or take series seven for example:

      Asylum Daleks
      Dinosaurs
      The Gunslinger
      Shakri
      Snowmen
      Spoonhead 11th Doctor
      The Vigil, Mummy and Merry
      Time Zombies
      The Paternoster Gang
      The Great Intelligence, Whispermen
      Monsters from Trenzalore set

      Or series 8:

      Half Faced Man
      Rusty
      Knights
      Orson and Danny Pink
      The Teller
      The Mummy
      Missy
      Santa and Dream Crabs

And just look ahead to the possibilities in series 9…

Series 6 was really forgettable and I do not think it should be remembered in figures more than it already has. It needs to be forgotten as soon as possible in my opinion.

Some of the Series 7 and 8 stuff are good though, (but not the stuff from Rings of Akhaten), so it would be good. But you have to remember that Doctor Who toys are not as popular any more, so they kind of have to cut down on what they can release, unfortunately. It’s a pity because (with some exceptions, as noted above), there is some interesting stuff that will just not get done.

And that is one of the reasons I love Eaglemoss, look Half-face Man, the Teller, etc. And all in the same scale too (apart from the larger specials).

I agree, we need more series 6, 7 & 8 figures, but definitely no Hitler, that would be too controversial but I would love to see a handbot and Minotaur, they would be amazing

I really really want figures of the Half-Face Man, the Teller and the Foretold in the 5″ scale. They are some of the best original monsters we’ve seen in the show for ages in my opinion and it would be great to have really good figures of them to go with the upcoming 12th Doctor and Clara figures.

Also, a Doctor Who action figure of Adolf Hitler…somehow I don’t think that would go down so well.

Nice enough reproduction of the handbot – but not really anything I desperately needed.

Yeah, i feel that they should maybe choose some better liked monsters before they do the handbots.
