Destiny Of The Daleks: Signed Edition
Destiny Of The Daleks: Collectors Set Signed Edition
This set is available to buy online from Forbidden Planet
Forbidden Planet are delighted to make this Special autographed version of the Destiny of the Daleks’ set available to UK and Irish customers.
A Special card has been printed and is housed in the front of the set – it was packed in the factory so no sets have been reopened to accommodate the signed card – it has been signed by actor David Gooderson. David played Davros during the 1979 series which included this storyline.
We think the card makes the set even more attractive to display and adds value for all collectors. The run length is very limited – around 500 and your set is individually numbered on the top right of the inserted autograph card. We hope this will be the first in a short series of signature editions.
The Fourth Doctor and Romana arrive on Skaro and discover that the Daleks are using a group of humanoid slaves and heavy drills to burrow down into the old Kaled city. The Daleks are at war with the robotic Movellan race who have also arrived on Skaro, determined to find out what the Dalek plan is. Itβs soon revealed what the Dalek objective is; Davros their creator! The Movellans insist in joining the Doctor in the race to find him. However on being located by the Doctor, Davros revives, his life support systems having held him in suspended animation ever since being exterminated by his own creations centuries before. Davros is soon rescued by the Daleks though, and he quickly surmises that the battle computers of the two races are locked in a logical stalemate, and that he could break it by introducing an element of intuition.
The Movellans, having reached the same conclusion, insist the Doctor to do likewise for them. Knowing this, Davros attempts to destroy the Movellan ship using a suicide squad of Daleks loaded with bombs. The Doctor soon disables the robot Movellans, and returns to the Kaled City and tricks Davros into detonating the explosives before they reach the ship. The defeated Davros is cryogenically frozen until the freed slave workers can take him to Earth and put on trial for his crimes.

July 28th, 2011 - 4:49pmHaving bought this Signed version of D.O.T.D. & compared it to the standard D.O.T.D. Boxset the inside packaging is different. The standard version has the figures spaced out, but in the Signed version the two Daleks are moved to the right & Davros and the Doctor further to the left, you then have a slanted impression with the David Gooderson signature pressed into that at an angle. Because it is at an angle you can’t make out what the blurb & picture is on the back of the card? If anyone knows can they leave a reply please?
