Happy to see this doesn’t have a tagline of “Tardis console” stuck to it. I’ll probably pick this up

I much prefer the Pin Badges without the Writing on aswell. Much more Aesthetically pleasing. Purely my own preference, as I know some people prefer the other Designs.

based on the clasp, it looks to be about 1″ x 1″

Quite big…. I’m interested must admit. Thinking about it I have a console badge somewhere made in the USA – possibly.

      35mm x 31.1mm

For those asking – we deliberately made the Inferno TARDIS to cover off the Third Doctor’s era on a design due to go live tomorrow (1st October). The badge followed that.

I think (allthough its the Inferno version) the smash rotor spoils the badge. Better , I think to have done the undamaged Hartnell version and done either the Three Doctors or Time Monster version of the Pertwee console.

It is a curious choice. “I love Dr Who, and I show my love by wearing a badge featuring a once great prop several days before it was skipped for being deemed damaged beyond repair.” (I’m guessing the designer maybe didn’t know?)

It’s such a shame because even as a paid up misery guts I think this range is great aside from the decision to show the non-storyline damage. Do a tweaked undamaged version, and I’m definitely buying.

I love it, to be honest. Very rare to see a piece of merchandise deliberately based on a damaged prop. Immortalising a flaw like that, in a way it captures the very essence of the show.

If they did both, then surprisingly I find myself agreeing with you – I could actually see it as a fun variation because we all know what happened (“Oooh, does it even have the hasty ball of sticky tape controls?”). But for it to be the only version, and I think the first version, that just seems… odd to me, maybe less of a general release item, particularly spread over a whole range of products. But fair point, I’m liking the badge at least a little bit more.

Unlike the matching t-shirt etc., it doesn’t have any lettering on it. Looks much nicer.

If you google “Third Doctor TARDIS console” you’ll find the screenshot from Inferno that’s been used for this art. Note the faithful reproduction of the Time Rotor being beat to hell.

I wondered if anyone else would notice that it was the beaten up Inferno version.
