September 26th, 2024 - 3:03pmThe Matt Smith era one of these was a fine collection taken from the pages of early Monster Invasion magazines. But it was only a handful, and I don’t remotely regret my fairly recent decision to re-buy (originally went to charity shops) all the issues to have all 52 puzzles. Some are better than others (being from that era we have too many based on wretched contemporary episodes like Closing Time and The Curse of the Black Spot), but overall it’s super. I suspect this is a new series entirely, which may be great fun, but is unlikely to have the same energy as Jamie Smart’s painstaking yet apparently effortless charm.
