It might just be Certain Areas, (were Time Lord lives)?
I remember not so long ago there was a bit of a North/South Divide with Magazines.
On here, people in the South were getting Magazines without any Problems but us in the North were getting them weeks late.

I’m in the north snowman and whilst smiths and Tesco’s got the mag sainsburys were late getting them for some months. I do know friends who live in different areas had trouble while others didn’t. No rhyme or reason to it, it seems. Hopefully we will have no trouble with the next issue as it’s the first one I want to get in some time now.

I decided to give up buying this magazine from this issue onwards, as I have zero interest in the Proms and the miniuatue on how digital effects are created. Although now as a Target Books collector I will have to get next issue! Can anyone tell me if this issue has details of the next Bookazine ?

The Target Book next Month is Evil of the Daleks. It shows the Book Cover on the Inside Back Cover of the Magazine.

Patrick Troughtons on the Front Cover with is Two Companions, Surrounded by Daleks and the Supreme Dalek behind them.
The Cover background is Dark Blue. (Which Target have been using alot Recently) The New Diamond Logo is on the Front Cover above the Evil of the Daleks with Frazer Hines directly Underneath.
      Looks a really Nice Cover.

Been waiting for the paperback was hoping for a group announcement, evil with a bunch of other new stories but will have to buy the magazine instead. Hope it’s the full version of his book and not an edited one.

Yes Book Collector, Do you think it will be an Edited Version. The last Time I remember a Target Book Exclusive with the Dr Who Magazine was in 2021, The Library of Time and it was just a Sampler.

      September 14th, 2024 - 1:18am

It seems strange to release it as an exclusive paperback. I assume more people buy the books than the magazine but I could easily be wrong. I hope it’s the full version, it wouldn’t be any longer than some they have already done as it had big print in the hardcover edition. I’ll get it and hope it’s the full version. I don’t really see the point of it if it isn’t. The library one was different. It was a sampler book with a short introduction. Hopefully we will get more info before the mag comes out.

Always loved a Montage of Interesting Characters rather than a Single Character on a Cover or Sleeve.

That bird faced being in the bottom corner is ludicrous I assume its from a last season episode I turned off. Consideing the funds and effects at their diposal the monsters have really gone downhill….Peri looked more convincing when she turned into a bird in ‘Vengeance….’

Cheer up cully! If it upsets you that much just don’t watch. Equally though if you don’t watch don’t comment. This episode was great and the makeup was excellent. Still, you won’t care about that… too busy complaining constantly about new who. Just let it go…

You dont believe in free speech and anyones opinion other than your own do you anon. Never mind ratings show Im right and youre wrong too bad. I cant be as argumentative as you.

    • Anon

      September 14th, 2024 - 6:26pm

The BBC have already said that ratings are good. They no longer use overnight or even weekly consolidated figures to go by. The whole of the TV industry has hugely reduced figures. So does that mean everything is bad? No. Viewing habits have changed massively. And you are entitled to an opinion but if you don’t actually watch the series how can you have an informed opinion? Free speech is just another way of saying shut up I’m right. So you have just done to me exactly wha you are accusing me of!

Unusual collection of monsters there. Chuldur and Foretold? And Cybermen last seen 14 years ago?

And while I’m sure he’s a lovely man and I have nothing against his existence, is there *seriously* a featured interview with an extra from 73 Yards? Astonishing.

Pretty sure they’re all the monster costumes used at the proms, so that’s why the monsters are so random too. Yes the 2013 and 2020 ones were also there but the cubes costumes are probably the most recognisable ones to put on the cover of a magazine.

Very pleased the Proms is the cover story. Bewildered that they’ve not decided to use any photography taken from the actual Proms itself on the cover. Visually, there’s nothing to tell me this is the Proms, if I’m glancing it’s just a collection of monsters. I accept, perhaps too much musical iconography may give a false impression on the genre of the magazine, but surely there was some photography taken they could use that showcases both the monsters and the event! If there are arguments that printing deadlines meant this wasn’t possible… the Proms was two and a half weeks ago…
