“I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren’t there.”

The Eighth Doctor was an effortlessly charming, romantic figure. He was unguarded about his background and equally candid about what the future held for people he came into contact with.

  • Sonic Screwdriver Accessory
  • Karn Chalice Accessory (Cup O’ Karn)
  • Cass’s Bandolier Accessory (removable)

It seems ironic that so much about this open Doctor remains a closed book…His first adventure took place in San Francisco at the turn of the Millennium with Dr Grace Holloway and Chang Lee in an epic battle with the Master.

Much later, after many adventures with many companions, the 8th Doctors fate is finally sealed during the Time War, as he attempts to rescue a pilot, Cass, whose ship was crashing into the planet Karn.

When Cass realized that the Doctor was a Time Lord and her enemy, she refused his help and allowed the ship crash.

Ordered the 12th doctor with the polka shirt Monday evening and still haven’t received a dispatched email! Longest I’ve ever had to wait for forbidden planet to send out

  • The Silent Silent

    October 16th, 2015 - 7:58pm

Has the 12th Doctor in purple shirt been released on forbidden planet ???

I ordered the 12th doctor, clara and 12th doctor but the 12th doctor hasnt been dispatched. has anyone else experienced this ??

I have mine but I pre ordered it the day it came up on the site

  • The Twelfth Doctor

    October 16th, 2015 - 4:51pm

    My 5.5″ Collector Series wish list;

Tenth Doctor (with updated articulation) and Wilfred Mott 2 Pack (The End of Time)

Eleventh Doctor (with swappable glasses head) and Clara (with bag) 2 Pack (The Rings of Akhaten)

Twelfth Doctor (with waistcoat and Sonic Screwdriver) and Clara 2 Pack (Dark Water/Death in Heaven)

Twelfth Doctor (The Magician’s Apprentice/The Witch’s Familiar) with swappable Sonic Glasses head and guitar

Twelfth Doctor in red velvet coat (with alternative glasses head)

    • DannyTheNerd

      October 16th, 2015 - 7:32pm

      Awesome list.

    • Thatchos

      October 16th, 2015 - 10:42pm

It’s probably not plausible, but I’d like to see a Closing Time 2-pack with:
Eleventh Doctor in green coat and Stetson (head swappable w/ TOTD & Impossible Set heads)
      Craig Owens (possibly with Alfie/Stormageddon)

So with Stormageddon, it would technically be a 3-pack…

      Yeah, that would be nice.

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 16th, 2015 - 11:06pm

The eleventh doctor and Clara wouldn’t happen because the eleventh figure would be based on a figure that costs £30

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 18th, 2015 - 8:35am

A rassilon and omega two pack would be brilliant.

    • DoctorSong2016

      October 18th, 2015 - 9:47am

It only cost £30 because of all the added accessories, it would have been around £15-20 if it didn’t have all the accessories

    • Anonymous

      October 18th, 2015 - 2:09pm

i hope they do release a cheaper 11th doctor at some point

  • Dalekparadigm2

    October 15th, 2015 - 2:09pm

I think this is my third comment on this post but it’s such a good figure and I can’t wait to get it! So, as the 5″ range is back in full swing, here’s what I want to see…

    – 12th Doctor in Red Crombie and waistcoat
    – 12th Doctor in Last Christmas outfit
    – 12th Doctor in Magician’s Apprentice outfit with Guitar and swapable sunglasses head
    – Modern Zygon
    – Modern Cyberman
    – The Fisher King
    – Prentis with swappable ghost head
    – The Foretold
    – Skovox Blitzer
    – Osgood (Series 9)
    – Kate Stewart (With Old Cyber Head)
    – The Mire (From The Girl Who Died)

Then if they start making larger group packs (like the Journey’s End Set in 2008) I would like…

    – Deep Breath (Vastra, Strax, Jenny and The Half Face Man)
    – Robot of Sherwood (Robin Hood, The Sheriff of Nottingham and two robot nights)
    – Time Heist (The Teller, Psi, Saibra, Ms Delphox)

    • DannyTheNerd

      October 16th, 2015 - 3:17pm

I agree with you, except the robots of sherwood set and the time heist set. Don’t really like the sound of them. But I’d LOVE a magicians apprentice 12thdoctor doctor

    • Dalekparadigm2

      October 16th, 2015 - 4:32pm

Yeah maybe. I would quite like a Robin Hood 5″ though even if its separate

    • Dalekparadigm2

      October 16th, 2015 - 4:33pm

      And the Teller

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 16th, 2015 - 11:09pm

I think if they made a set they would probably just make a series 8 set with a robo-knight, strax, vastra and the teller as those are the most visually appealing to children but a two pack of robo-knights would be great.

  • koloth

    October 15th, 2015 - 12:20pm

Only need a young John Hurt head now…

    • booboo

      October 15th, 2015 - 12:24pm

suppose it depends if he would agree to it and they could get the rights, somethings are not that simple sometimes

    • koloth

      October 15th, 2015 - 12:32pm

      Ain’t that the truth!

    • Anonymous

      October 15th, 2015 - 3:18pm

would love that but i have doupt

    • Aster

      October 15th, 2015 - 3:44pm

John Hurt doesn’t allow companies to use his younger likeness in figures. For example his character from “Alien”‘s figures either don’t look like him or has a facehugger over his face.

    • Balakin

      October 15th, 2015 - 4:27pm

Aster: that’s weird. Do you know the reason why?

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 15th, 2015 - 5:40pm

Maybe he just doesn’t want people to be playing with little versions of his younger self. Maybe he’s embarrassed about his hairstyle at the time. Who knows.

  • Matt

    October 15th, 2015 - 12:01pm

Look guys, I think everyone should stop complaining and asking for an ‘8th Doctor from Dark Eyes’ or other variants. We’ve essentially got our 5″ figures back. Character have realised the 3.75″ figures weren’t working, and have brought out this collector’s series. We already have 3 variants of the 12th doctor (I’ve got the polka dot shirt one) 2 missy’s, a Clara, curator set and 8th doctor. What more can we ask for? (Except for a bit of a price decrease!)

    • booboo

      October 15th, 2015 - 12:17pm

who is “everyone”, people are just wishing for their preferences as is happening everywhere, its happened since day one 10 years ago.

If people cant do that we might as well just get rid of comments altogether .

  • Dalek the Supreme

    October 15th, 2015 - 2:34am

If they start doing monsters, I’d personally be interested in the new Cyberman and Ice Warrior designs, a Dr. Simeon with a swappable Whisperman head, and/or the Fisher King.

  • cyberdoctor42

    October 14th, 2015 - 10:42pm

I have never commented a list of figures i want to see before but i am very happy right now so i think i will.
    TMA 12th doctor
nightmare in silver cyberman two pack
a slightly more accurate clara ( with a handbag and tiny tardis perhaps)
    to a lesser extent:
    Danny pink
    kate stewart

  • collector

    October 14th, 2015 - 10:17pm

What figures would i personally like to see released? Well i think i speak for quite a few figure fans out there when i say i would love to see this: 5 inch action figures that are actually affordable and not going to break the bank!

    Tom Baker figure +
    Paul McGann figure +
    Peter Capaldi figure +
    Michelle Gomez figure +
Jenna Coleman figure + any other future 5 inch “collector” line they bring out all equals a heck of a lot of money.

Cant even really say that the price is all in the detail, as like we all know, for example, Clara is the exact same model for Oswin, just a different colour dress, legs, shoes and no belt.

I remember a simpler time when the 5″ were £6.99. The most i have paid was £14.99 at Asda for The Astronaut (River Song version) back in 2012. And that was a reluctant buy due to the price.

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 14th, 2015 - 10:46pm

But that was back when they were available in Tesco and Asda, when doctor who figures were available everywhere and I didn’t have to go all the way to Belfast just to have a look at some that weren’t in a b&m three pack. I really miss those days.

    • Anonymous

      October 15th, 2015 - 10:23pm

      we all miss those days,

lets all just take a minute of silence to remember what once was…..

    • The Werewolf

      October 15th, 2015 - 10:38pm

Oh how I wished I’d gotten that red/gold Supreme Dalek back then…

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 16th, 2015 - 11:10pm

I got that great big werewolf figure for £2 on eBay.

  • TimLord

    October 14th, 2015 - 6:43pm

Bring out a Dark Eyes 8th doctor. They brought out the ‘REAL TIME’ Colin Baker why not dark eyes???

    • Nobody in particular

      October 14th, 2015 - 7:24pm

Not sure they have the right to do Big Finish figures.

    • TheDarkAndTheLight

      October 14th, 2015 - 8:21pm

‘Real Time’ was co-produced with the BBC, but it was still a Big Finish release.

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 14th, 2015 - 10:35pm

Also it required no new molding

    • Anonymous

      October 16th, 2015 - 9:59am

The Dark Eyes costume was Paul McGann’s personal commission, it’s not owned by Big Finish or the BBC, it’s his own personal property and so he’d be the one you’d have to go to for the rights.

    • Cyberman Bill

      October 16th, 2015 - 2:19pm

Usually the way things work are, even though it was Pauls own clothes or commission, the image is owned by Big Finish or BBC or whoever owns the property so you have to go to that company to get permission.

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 16th, 2015 - 11:17pm

Once again I would like to point out that the real time sixth doctor was a straight repaint, whereas a dark eyes eighth doctor would require almost all new parts and, considering that not every doctor who fan follows the audio adventures, it would most likely not sell well enough to justify all the new sculpting and even though alot of people would say something like ‘I’ll buy it just because I like the costume’ they won’t once they remember that they already have two eighth doctor figures and decide that they don’t want to spend 15 to £20 on another one in a costume they’ve never seen before.

  • M

    October 14th, 2015 - 3:54pm

Booboo I’m going to America soon. Do you think this one will be available in Barnes & Noble like the others? Thanks

    • booboo

      October 14th, 2015 - 4:01pm

don’t know but the 8th doctor is not an exclusive in the states like the others they have

    • M

      October 14th, 2015 - 4:07pm

So it’ll be more likely to be in the likes of Toys R Us?

    • booboo

      October 14th, 2015 - 4:12pm

in the states? dont know, I have seen it on big bad toys, mikes comics and i know whona will get them, probably others

    • Donald

      October 16th, 2015 - 4:37am

Whona is 15 min down the road from me, I swung by and asked, they’ll have it in November.

  • TheDoctorForever

    October 13th, 2015 - 5:42pm

Really hope the next doctor figure to be released is either a new 12 with TMA outfit with better likeness OR a 10th doctor with better likeness and articulation!! That would be so great!!!

    • Aidan Gula

      October 14th, 2015 - 8:48pm

      In this range I want:
-12th Doctor in black jumper (Listen)
-12th Doctor in black jumper and hoodie + more hair like the Time of the Doctor head (Last Christmas)
-12th Doctor in white t-shirt, Hoodie, plaid trousers, guitar, swappable head with sunglasses + same hair as the Last Christmas figure (The Magician’s Apprentice)

  • Cyberlord

    October 13th, 2015 - 1:02pm

How long will the Curator be in stock for, as I would like to get him, but not urgently cos he is expensive?

    • Anonymous

      October 13th, 2015 - 1:56pm

If you pre-order using a debit or credit card, they wont charge you until it is dispatched…so unless the dates change (which they already have for the Curator), you wont be charged until 31st October.

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 13th, 2015 - 11:44pm

I’m sure they won’t be going out of stock anytime soon

  • Pat

    October 13th, 2015 - 9:04am

is this going to the same size as previous Mcgann figures or oversized like the recent 12th and curator?

    • Cyberlord

      October 13th, 2015 - 10:59am

i think it should be normal size like Missy.

    • Michael

      October 13th, 2015 - 1:53pm

We won’t know until it arrives. There have always been some size discrepancies though. I don’t think Capaldi is too far out when compared to those. For example , the McCoy and Troughton figures are way too big and poor Colin Baker is far too small, Davison is a bit too tall…etc.

    • Anonymous

      October 13th, 2015 - 3:20pm

The 12th Doctor doesn’t look bad until you put it side by side with the 9th Doctor. The actors are the same height in real life, yet 12 is noticeably taller.

    • James Woods

      October 13th, 2015 - 4:38pm

As far as I’m concerned, the original McGann sculpt was accurately sized, so they shouldn’t need to change it…

    • James

      October 13th, 2015 - 8:57pm

When I say other figures, that is just the other Doctor’s and some Cybermen. Every other figure, they’re in scale with e.g. Daleks, companions, etc.

  • Doctor_Number 10

They don’t take the money out my card until its close to being dispatched

they only charge if you pay via paypal

      Ok thank pat and tom

    October 12th, 2015 - 11:15pm

Why does the current 12th Doctor figure use the classic logo on packaging yet the 8th Doctor packaging uses the current logo?! Talk about brand confusion!

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 14th, 2015 - 10:48pm

Because the twelfth doctor packaging must have been designed before the logo was finalized.

    • The Five Doctors

      October 15th, 2015 - 5:40am

      Is the UK packaging 🙂

  • Antonio Zambonini

    October 12th, 2015 - 10:43pm

I guess this will be the same as the war dr as It looks really good and same price charge including its a amazing popular figure

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 12th, 2015 - 10:50pm

No it’s actually cheaper ( by the way the war doctor is my favourite figure)

    • Antonio Zambonini

      October 12th, 2015 - 11:47pm

I thought it was the same price at 14.99£ and same I like both war dr and Dave is and imperial dalek set

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 13th, 2015 - 7:25am

The war doctor was £20 when I bought it.

    • Antonio Zambonini

      October 13th, 2015 - 4:01pm

Must of been different price as I def rember paying 14.99 excluding p and p

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 15th, 2015 - 10:55am

The War Doctor was 14.99 in its initial run and then when new stock came in the price went up to 20 on FPI

  • Chris Ward

    October 12th, 2015 - 8:46pm

Is the bandolier removable? McGann never actually wore it, John Hurt put it on post-regeneration, and I would prefer to display this without the bandolier.

    • booboo

      October 12th, 2015 - 9:35pm

its listed as an accessory so I’m sure it will be

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 14th, 2015 - 10:51pm

Also if it wasn’t removable it would most likely be molded onto the coat.

  • Dalekparadigm2

    October 12th, 2015 - 8:38pm

I love getting accessories. There’s a box in my custom TARDIS where I keep some accessories but I had too many of them so I had to invest in somewhere to keep the rest. McGann looks great here and that head sculpt has grown on me. Really looking forward to getting this one for Christmas!

    • The Slightly Evil Dr

      October 13th, 2015 - 4:49pm

At least this time I was able to order purple, polkadot, 8, Clara and curator all at once, minimising postage! Saving YAY!

  • 2doctors2000

    October 12th, 2015 - 5:57pm

On 8 and Clara the red text saying FPI exclusive isn’t there, does that mean it’ll be released another time in TRU?

    • Merlin

      October 12th, 2015 - 7:02pm

      Apparently they are

    • koloth

      October 13th, 2015 - 4:50pm

It might be under a preorder list or a released list. Do another search it may come up.

  • 2doctors2000

    October 12th, 2015 - 5:55pm

Booboo, why the exclusivity to FP?
I mean, it says it explicitly on the 12th Doctor figures, but on Clara and 8 it doesn’t, does that mean it will be in TRU?

  • 2doctors2000

    October 12th, 2015 - 5:41pm

    Why not TRU booboo?
I thought TRU and FPI were the stores, atm it seems only the TARDIS will be at TRU.

    • booboo

      October 12th, 2015 - 6:04pm

I think not myself, These have the UT logo on the the front , i suspect we might see something with the Character logo on them

    • 2doctors2000

      October 12th, 2015 - 6:27pm

Sorry for my persistent comments, they didn’t load so I thought they hadn’t posted. But did you see my one about the fact that the pages for 8 and Clara have no FPI exclusive in red writing?

    • booboo

      October 12th, 2015 - 6:35pm

yes thats probably barbecue they will turn up in toys were us but with UK pancaking

    • 2doctors2000

      October 12th, 2015 - 7:10pm

      What’s the difference in packaging?
      Is it just shiny?

    • When The Doctor Was Me

      October 12th, 2015 - 7:12pm

It has the current Doctor Who logo rather than the TV movie one like the rest of the series (excluding missy)

    • 2doctors2000

      October 12th, 2015 - 8:36pm

And I do hope that the 8th will have the TV Movie logo/Pertwee logo, as I ordered from FPi and unfortunately had to pay £5 postage, it’s not awful, but I hope we get the nicer timeless logo. Also, I’m presuming they won’t be cheaper at Toys R Us, and it will only be postage I unfortunately payed extra for? You see, my Dad likes to buy the figures for Christmas, but how ever wealthy you are he never likes to jump in, but I know 8 will go much like War and 12 in shirt, so I don’t always feel good after basically ‘forcing’ him to buy it for me – I will pay for it if needs be.

  • When The Doctor Was Me

    October 12th, 2015 - 5:37pm

Decided to order this and Clara. The tooling here looks beautiful! Can’t wait to see it in hand! Just wish for a 2013-Present Cyberman, Series 6b 11th Doctor in Green Coat (Swappable Head with Stetson), 2013-Present Zygon and Maybe a two pack with Osgood and Kate Stewart from The Day of The Doctor.

One final note, We are now getting a nice 50th Anniversary Collection of figures! Shame its 2 years later, but all the same and nice collection is growing!
