Doctor Who B&M Exclusive 2019 Sontarans Figure Set

The Sontarans Collector Figure Set also features this fearful enemy and includes Lieutenant Harry Sullivan – one of the companions of the Fourth Doctor, plus two Sontarans – Field Major Styre, and Commander Linx. Accessories include Sontaran helmets and blasters.
Sets will be available in B&M stores from Late August

July 31st, 2019 - 10:10pmDoes anyone have any info regarding how many of each set will be made? I noticed there’s a limited edition sticker on all of them so I worry there won’t be many.

July 31st, 2019 - 10:13pmlimited edition essentially means a one off run, when they are gone they are gone however there are more of these than the last sets, there shouldn’t be a problem

Tegan: top half of Abby Maitland pink top varient and bottom half of Amy Pond. New head sculpt.
Turlough: James Lester figure… Or John Simm. master figure.
Or they could replace the 5th doctor figure with The Ainley master…

July 31st, 2019 - 2:57amOkay, I have to pitch some ideas, just incase Al Dewar is reading/ gives feedback on how plausible these could be…
– Sarah Jane from ‘The Pyramids of Mars,’ using the Gelth Zombie as a base, painted an array of white/cream tones (not exact, but would communicate the idea) and a new head sculp, or even just hair sculpt, if you could get away with the head from an SJA figure ‘softened’ with paint apps…
-Romana II from ‘Destiny of the Daleks,’ using Martha Jones Legs and Torso piece, without jacket, instead with 13th Doctors Coat (the hood is innaccurate, but oh well) with Marthas/13’s arms and hands. This would require two new sculpts, Romanas head and some sort of covering for the front of the torso piece (the scarf would be a lovely addition, but I feel many would forgive its lack of inclusion…)
Maybe I’m just getting over-exited, but I really can’t wait to see what the future of the B and M line has in store…

July 31st, 2019 - 12:07pmSurprised really with B&M as I didn’t see this kind of commitment coming, I know we had the collapse of Toys R Us UK and the closure of the UK BBC Shop and Shut down of the Forbidden Planet International (.co.uk) online shop in recent time so good to see this kind of investment and cooperation, especially with Big Finish coming in with a few sets for the first time ever.

July 31st, 2019 - 12:38pmThe addition of the scarf on romana could attempt to cover up 13s hood.
As this year we’ve gained two new headsculpts, being harry and stike, I hope in future years we carry on seeing 2 or 3 new headsculpts per year.
For example, a UNIT set would be amazing. The brigadier could be a rerelease with no additions
Benton could be the classic repaint of captain Jack, maybe with a slight tweak to the headsculpt for a beret
Yates would have the brigadier uniform body and then a new headsculpt.
I would totally buy that.
But personally my money is on Jamie next year as everyone and their mums seem to have commented at the lack of a Jamie figure in the three doctors set.
If Al and CO keep going down this route, in a few years time we might even have every doctors main companions, and I really hope that we get a Susan, Steven, Jamie, Sarah, Tegan and Turlough. And more…

July 30th, 2019 - 8:36pmAll these sets look pretty special. You can never have too many Cybermen and Daleks. Harry is a gem! I will be buying every set…. In the future I hope for more Dalek sets… Twin pack Dalek sets from each Classic Dalek story would be heaven on earth.

July 31st, 2019 - 11:29amCharacter Options had a range of Army Navy RAF figures didn’t they? They could re-purpose some of the moulds and use them for UNIT and harry in uniform. Can’t remember the scale they were in though.

July 31st, 2019 - 1:24pmThe ANR figures were much bigger than the 5.5 stuff, they were more doll like, like that 10 inch 13 figure.
Anyway, on the subject of new figures that can be made with new heads, we could get a Turlough (new head on James Lester body). And if they can do heads, I’m wondering whether and an Attack Cyberman is possible.
With new heads, I also wonder if we could see some EU characters get figures. Evelyn Smythe could be achieved by a new head on a repainted Grandma Connolly body, a Hex could be made with a new head on Rory’s body, and a Cinder could be made from a Last of the Timelords Martha with a new head. We could even get an Alex Macqueen Master! Obviously these are unlikely, as there are people who aren’t really interested in these characters, but I’d be willing to buy them.

Personally, I’d love a new 2nd Dr head sculpt (smiley please) with a Jamie (not sure what bodies can be used here apart from a Jo Grant! There will have to some sandpaper used in the chest department 😉

Nice getting two Sontarans so you can make the battles better (er I mean the display better).
It would be lovely to get a 4th Doctor era Sarah Jane Smith figure later on, maybe more than one version in her most famous outfits from the time that would be nice…oh and Zoe Heriot in that spangaly silver 60’s outfit!!!!…go on pleaseeee!

Would actually be good to stand him with the Big and fourth Doctor in his red jacket. Shame they didnt go mad and really make my day by putting Styre’s robot into the set.
