For the first time Character Options will be releasing the Second Doctor and his TARDIS as a collector figure set from Season 6, the 1969 television story ‘The War Games’. This episode saw the Doctor recalled to Gallifrey after a protracted and exhausting adventure across multiple time zones fighting the evil War Lord.

The set comprises the Second Doctor with ripped trouser knee details and bedraggled appearance, plus the TARDIS with a dark, heavy over-wash look. The figure set features the TARDIS with opening doors and 5.5 inch scale articulated Second Doctor figure. It comes beautifully presented in Doctor Who branded packaging.

Booboo have you heard any updates from American website buydoctorwhonow? There web page is saying that all the sets are available for purchase, however, when you click on the link it doesn’t redirect anywhere. I emailed them over amazon and they said that the figures will be made available some time this week.

Its just a Diy shopify site linking to Amazon, they are getting ready for Amazon to list them (if they have the stock yet) so they can change to direct links.

These all look great! But this year I’m prob going to go against my rule of not giving in and getting them of E Bay as went to B&M to get a few bits but social distancing was non existent and even the staff just walked right in front of me, and not the first time items I have got came up diff price at till different to shelf ticket and when queried it I was basically told off so it’s really put me off going hunting for the new ones when they come out as I’m sure it will alot of people.

You can’t say that without explaining? Personally I think it’s great and should be grateful that after all these years we are still getting 5” figures and some new ones at that with the possibility of further classic companions never released before!

My local B&M store still has them for the normal full price

    • B&M price checker

Went back to B&M again this morning and the Peladon TARDIS set is still £19.99 along with the Big Finish Dalek sets.

    • booboo

      June 27th, 2020 - 12:48pm

apparently its the older sets that are £5 but some got mixed in with the new so as the shelf sticker said £5 they got them for that

    • Robert W

      June 27th, 2020 - 8:30pm

I bought one at Stratford-upon-Avon for £19.99. Dalek sets were still £19.99 too

I haven’t got space in my Classic Who cabinet for another Tardis…

Although I do in my NewWho cabinet.
Tempted to get this so can also be used as Ruth’s one as I expect us to get her figure next year.

http://www.doctorwhostore.com/ is this store legit? I know it’s not related to these figures although I’d like to know as they ship to the UK and prices are great 🙂

    • booboo

      June 22nd, 2020 - 8:08am

i think people have ordered from them, just watch the old import charges if what you buy is over £15 in total

      June 22nd, 2020 - 9:59am

Has anybody on here used them before ??? As they have some great sets at very good prices !!!

    • Jason Brooks

      June 22nd, 2020 - 5:18pm

I have but by the time you pay shipping charges, vat charge/import charge, and the processing fee its not much cheap than buying it here in the UK.

    • KB

      June 23rd, 2020 - 6:08am

I’m from the states and it is legit. There in Illinois. You order from Alien Entertainment. (which is the same as Dr Who Store) I’ve ordered a few times and no problems. They do have the good older hard to find stuff.

    • Bob James

      June 27th, 2020 - 1:44pm

Alien Entertainment/The Doctor Who Store is completely legit, and has been in business for about 20 years. They also organize and run Chicago Tardis, an annual convention that is one of the few fan oriented “not drain our wallets” quality conventions left in the States. As for the import and/or VAT charges, it’s the same as any international commerce. It’s what we US fans have had to contend with the last few years as international distribution for some merchandising has dried up. It comes down to an individual’s call about spending an individual’s money. And as KB stated, they do have a relatively deep stock on older, harder to find stuff.

Figures like Melkur, Sil, Davros, Scarlioni / Jagaroth and a Mechanoid would make very welcome B&M exclusives.

What is, “The official North American Doctor Who Store”???

    • booboo

      June 21st, 2020 - 1:19pm

its just a custom made spotify store linking to Amazon, its not a new shop or anything like that.

Thanks, I was hoping they meant Who North America.

Is there going to be a date that we could pre order the TARDIS in the United States?

    • booboo

      June 20th, 2020 - 6:38pm

the only date we have is 20th July for B&M, but there is no def date for the USA, the minute they go up for order it will be on the front page so keep an eye on that.

    • Bob James

      June 27th, 2020 - 1:46pm

    June 18th, 2020 - 10:45pm

Do you think Character may release a season 18 4th doctor with the Shada Tardis that was repurposed in Logopolis (i.e. shape of 5th doctor tardis with colouring of Shada box including the windows) to have the stacked roof, could possibly come with the telephone? Just think it’s a different kind of variant…

    • Tom

      June 20th, 2020 - 3:53am

Good suggestion. I’d buy that immediately.

What I’d really like to see however are new Tardis sets with full electronics, lights, sounds for sale via Kickstarter, funded by fans, to get over the cost argument we keep hearing from Character Options. Has this been considered before?

    • Bobby Davros

      June 22nd, 2020 - 10:54pm

If lights and sound were that important to fans they wouldn’t be selling out of the vanilla ones year in year out (and note the stacks of 13th TARDISes still unsold). Call me crazy but I like paying £20 for a TARDIS and figure.

    • Tom

      June 23rd, 2020 - 1:57am

You’re crazy BD. Hahah, no, a cheap Tardis is always a good thing (although if you’re in Australia it’s been costing at least $100 AUD to land one lately).

You can only buy what’s on offer though and I suspect that if the latest sets sell well, an electronic classic Tardis would be a winner. Personally, I’d love an electronic Tardis set from Planet of Evil with a 4th Doctor, Sarah and some new tooling on the roof and light.

    • booboo

      July yes, 20th not sure

    • booboo

      June 19th, 2020 - 12:35pm

should say that is a date, but we had one last year and it over ran by a week, i thinks its a case of you see them when you see them

  • Dalek z

    June 17th, 2020 - 1:47pm

I like that this Tardis almost looks B&W the real prop must have been in quite a state by this time, I made my own custom of the 2nd Doctor Tardis which I like a lot but I do quite like this one too.

  • JL

    June 17th, 2020 - 10:40am

Do you think to get a 6th doctor and tardis set, they may rerelease the regeneration version of 6, like how they did the 4th doctor and tardis from robot

    • Mrs Croot

      June 17th, 2020 - 3:35pm

Good idea as we only have one with the outdated trousers, so it looks weird beside CoA 5th Doctor and TARDIS with the new trouser design that premiered in the 13 Doctors set.

    • Bobby Davros

      June 17th, 2020 - 5:28pm

That would just be the 5th Doctor Tardis set just with a new head though?

    • Mrs Croot

      June 17th, 2020 - 6:09pm

Fair point, but maybe he could be done in a regeneration set with 7 and 9 in their previous incarnations costumes. Maybe you could do a “Night of the Doctor” War Doctor with a new head sculpt?

    • JL

      June 17th, 2020 - 6:32pm

Not necessarily if they just release a generic 6th doctor tardis, without the androzani scuffs

    • Gareth Pugh

      June 18th, 2020 - 9:48pm

A regeneration 6th might be the best way of getting a 6th Doctor’s Tardis out. Some have been saying that CO said all the many different paint apps and transfers etc. they used to use for 6’s regular outfit may be a struggle now on the budgets they need to work to on their contracts with B&M. I don’t know if that is true or not, but I hope not – I’ve been crossing my fingers that one of these years, B&M might give us a ‘Trial’ 6th with the red tie and red-and-white check waistcoat.

    • DavidV

      June 19th, 2020 - 4:11am

I’d like to see a Two Doctors Sixth Doctor, with no coat – it’s a less paint intensive variant of Six, and we already have other figures from the story

    • Bobby Davros

      June 22nd, 2020 - 11:01pm

If we get a Sixth Doctor TARDIS I think it’ll most likely be a Revelation of the Daleks version as it had a different (ridiculous) lamp in that story and they could add snowy paint apps to the roof. Character could also hide cheaper paint apps for the Doctor under that blue cape they’ve previosly released.

  • Tom

    June 17th, 2020 - 1:47am

Does Character Options or B&M have any plan in motion to allow customers in Australia and New Zealand to be able to purchase these new sets? (Or do we have to resort to eBay?)

  • Anonymous

    June 17th, 2020 - 12:56am

So do we still not have a release date?

  • Blake Edgerton

    June 16th, 2020 - 8:07pm

For me the ultimate pleasing moment DW wise for 3+ months. What an uplift…
The whole range is just great.

  • Andrew Stocker

    June 16th, 2020 - 7:37pm

Oh I love this so much. Waited all these years and now it finally is on its way.

  • Savo79

    June 16th, 2020 - 5:49pm

Is the Tardis painted in black and white but the figure painted full colour? Would’ve thought they’d have picked either B+W set or colour. Still it’s Troughton so I’m gonna try and get one in B and M. Not that I’ve got space to display it. It’ll go in the loft until the kids grow up and move out then their room will be mine. Counting down the days.

    • DrXshock

      June 17th, 2020 - 12:18am

TARDIS is just a very dark blue with whethering.. Not Black and White.

  • Anonymous

    June 16th, 2020 - 4:59pm

Will they release one with a backdrop in the Tardis at all?

    • daz

      June 16th, 2020 - 6:38pm

No. As the Classic Tardis never had a backdrop inside the prop. In some scenes you could clearly see it was just an empty Police Box inside.

    • Gareth Pugh

      June 17th, 2020 - 10:03pm

True, although they’ve stated the reason why the B&M Tardises don’t have an insert is down to budget rather than trying to reflect what was seen on screen. Apparently same is true of this year’s 13th Doctor Tardis too.

  • Hulk

    June 16th, 2020 - 4:43pm

Why didn’t they not add a pertwee head

    • Bobby Davros

      June 16th, 2020 - 4:52pm

Because Troughtpn had a totally different body shape and height?

    • Mrs Croot

      June 16th, 2020 - 4:54pm

It wouldn’t really make sense to the cannon either.

    • SamWho

      June 16th, 2020 - 5:02pm

Because we’ve had Pertwee with Tardis before and we only see that combination for 5 seconds maybe one day but this is very nice not done before set
