On the left is the new modern-era (2005) mega-Dalek, 23-cm tall and intimidating in its hand-painted seared metal glory – out now. On the right is his partner, joining the Doctor Who mega-figurine set in the spring – a Dead Planet Dalek from the First Doctor’s initial jaunt to Skaro in December 1963. We’ll be shouting about this in the new year.

October 21st, 2016 - 8:03pm£85 for a 23cm static figurine? WHat a con. The 12″ RC ones only cost £40…. and they do more than simply sit there doing nothing in their tinyness.
I dont get why they dont seem to do the 12″ models seeing as they wre clealry so popular. Id pay £85 any day for a 12″ RC model.
Very disappointed i cant find anything interesting thats worth the money any more -its all a bit exploitative, really.

October 13th, 2016 - 10:53amIt was a Dalek prop (alternatively known as “Dalek Eight”) built for Evil of the Daleks. For unknown reasons the body was redesigned to make it slimmer, which most visibly means the back panel only has a single column of Dalek bumps rather than the conventional two.
The top half was seemingly badly damaged at some point and the base was used as part of the Dalek that appears in The War Games. That composite prop was salvaged by a man named Bernard Wilkie, who kept it in a barn for his kids to play with. He eventually donated it to an exhibition, and if I remember correctly Peter Jackson owns it now (what’s left of it at any rate).
There’s a video of the base from 2006 up if you look for it, it was in quite a state, but you can still see the rather unique design.

October 13th, 2016 - 12:28pmYeah, interestingly they’ve gone for something that’s not so much a ‘Dalek character’ in terms of the story it appears in, but more an interesting oddball prop in a behind the scenes sense.

October 11th, 2016 - 12:43pmI have received the mega bronze dalek and the bonus 1 and 2 daleks today. Overall very pleased but the mega dalek could have a better finish to the paint. The factory package marks the mega dalek as figure 2 in the collection.

October 6th, 2016 - 7:47pmI hope they get the colours right, they used a lead grey where the correct grey is actually “mechanus standard grey” for the neck rings, waist band and base. I had to correct it myself, I bought seven and painted them red, Orange, blue, yellow, green, white and red with a black dome. I don’t know why they messed up the paradigm neck rings, the photo on the front cover is impossible to miss.

October 6th, 2016 - 6:17pmI’m loving this idea so much, more renouned daleks in bigger scales, I didn’t think that the small one really did it justice as the paint was iffy, this looks to be slightly bigger than characters one but smaller than the 12″ rc character range.
I always welcome new daleks in any scale. I actually made a new paradigm dalek emperor from city of the daleks (the 2010 adventure game) by using another emperor I had from eaglemoss. I hope the paradigm daleks are covered!
