This release would HAVE to be the DVD boxsets with original discs on a big slipbox. 3 seasons and 2 more specials on 10 discs??? you’re out of your mind, BBC Studios/BBC America. 19 discs is the only count I’m accepting with this set. Also give Matt his TARDIS back.

That’s basically 4.4 episodes per disc

Mainly all discs will have 4 on each one
But that isn’t enough to have specials and stuff on it
Unless they are downscaling these. Re-editing stuff or they have invented night gb discs then

Wrong TARDIS. Deal breaker right there.

Honestly I don’t think people will buy this ! Reasons:
    1) Similar sets are already available in Canada
    2) A lot of us are waiting for Steelbooks for each series
    3) We want more EXCLUSIVE content
    4) DVDs in 2018 ??? Seriously ???
    5) We want the same think for the Classic DW
    🙂

Sorry, what’s wrong with “DVDs in 2018”? People watch them. That is the only reason needed. That sounds incredibly arrogant.

@Fred, actually Blu-ray is soooo much better Visually as well as audibly than DVD, it’s the difference between a bologna sandwich or a porter house steak with baked potato and a free salad bar. I don’t believe the previous bloke was attempting to be superior, so much as astonished in the same sense as one would be if you chose a VHS version over DVD. The DVD stores a higher amount of information than a VHS but the Jump from DVD to Blu and especially 4K is insurmountably better in all respects.

@Fred I didn’t want to sound “arrogant” but DW 2005 has already been edited on BR 2 years ago in US and this is a huge step back for the BBC.

Why not make these for classic who or the older series, most DVDs are out of print there and releasing these would be great for them

Because they are releasing Classic Who on Blu-ray, why would anyone want DVD over Blu-ray?

      I would

Yeah but it makes more sense, to get dvd versions out
The blu ray collections are going to take years, it’s better to make classic dvd collections in the mean time, because classic who is out of print

Admittedly, I will be purchasing all of these for the art to display upon a shelf… However I would be very tempted in purchasing and mailing you a $20.00 Blu-ray player just so you can move out of the DVD era lol…

I am in the Blu Ray era
Buy blu rays all the time
But if you are going to re-release of a new who, which is available on blu ray , again on dvd, then you can put all of classic who out on dvd, in doctor sets

That way you can introduce more people to classic who. I think a lot of people might buy them. New who and classic who are in the same position. Why not make a quick buck and make a few new sets. Then I relize your original reply wasn’t to me, it was to the first guy to reply at the top

The covers are a little cooler now that I realize the backgrounds connect! Download and place both next to each other in your phones gallery. I’m totally getting both and displaying them side by side despite already owning the Blu-ray box set:)

This is worse than the other design it’s just cobbled together nonsense, no thought gone into it all. If this was a British release I’d be more annoyed but I suppose I can’t be annoyed on behalf of the Americans, it’s their money

I still can’t believe that they’re using the same stock photo of the Tardis from 13 years ago. They did it for the 13th Doctor reveal, so I’m not surprised they’re lazily putting it on wrong era merch.

The logo looks pretty good on these releases, but I do hope the Tardis is changed and matt gets putvin one of his other costumes.

The Matt Smith logo was retired several years ago.

As of 2018, this is the new unified logo for all Doctor Who.

Well I think the 13th Doctor should have Matts logo then for the DVDs it makes no sense and I’m use to it now new logo with Doctor who magazine but it shouldn’t be on other Doctors stuff it should just be on the 13th doctors stuff and I think it should be like that with every doctor not just 13th they all got their own logos this is very confusing you don’t see Matt Smith stuff with David Tennants logo on it only the regeneration figure which is understandable that all think really

This isn’t just the 13th Doctor logo, as of its unveiling it’s the definitive logo for all Doctor Who. It represents the entire show.

Using multiple logos simultaneously for the same brand was a bad idea. Unifying the show under a consistent banner is far less confusing.

For the first time since 2005, Doctor Who has a single definitive identity.

Wrong Tardis and why no Clara or Rory? Hope this isn’t the final design.
