TV and Satellite Magazine Christmas preview

TV and Satellite Magazine Christmas preview

The Time Lord may have lost his best friends Amy and Rory in September’s mid-series finale, but the Whoniverse is no place for long goodbyes. Three months after the Ponds’ emotional exit at the hands of the Weeping Angels, the time for tears is over in this year’s Christmas special, The Snowmen, as the Doctor has a fresh fate-of-the- planet battle on his hands and a new companion to welcome aboard the Tardis.

The hour-long episode, set in Dickensian London, introduces a new-look Doctor to a young governess, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, who is caring for the two young children of widower Captain Latimer, played by former Silent Witness star Tom Ward.

All is not well at the Latimers’ gothic house, however, where something nasty is lurking in the garden, apparently controlled by the sinister Doctor Simeon (Richard E Grant). Reuniting with friendly Sontaran Strax…

In the trailer, Jenna tells some Children a story. He is the father of the Children.

So probably her husband, because I think they are her children.

If so, in the BBC Christmas Trailer, she kisses the doctor.

      Cheating on her husband!?
      Naughty Clara!

Blame the 8th Doctor, he started the whole kissy kissy business back in the TV Movie.

The only time a kiss between a Doctor and companion should ever really be appropriate is when the Doctor kissed Rose in order to remove the Time Vortex energies from her before before causing him to regenerate, saving her life in the process.

Every other time has just been to get us fan’s going “On no, not again !”.

What’s wrong with the Doctor kissing a beautiful girl ?

And it’s only just occured to me that Riversong and Jenna Louise Coleman are going to meet eachother at some point ❗

McGann is the Doctor – Well mate, to quote 2005’s ‘Aliens of London’ –

      Rose “900 years”.
      Doctor “That’s my age”.
Rose “Your 900 years old ?”.
      Doctor “Yeah”.
Rose “My mum was right, that’s one hell of an age gap”.

Talking of River Song thou, I wonder when the Doctor is going to mention Donna Noble to River, cos River said to Donna “Your Donna, Donna Noble” back in series 4, but why he mentioned Donna to River we don’t yet know.
