For the record I just received an email from Titan confirming that there will be both individual issues released in print and the usual omnibus coming out later, though this won’t happen until the digital print run is complete.

Yeah, seem’s like the 8-Issue Digital run is going to be out every couple of weeks or so. Iss # 3 due: 23/1/17 & Iss # 4 due 30/1/17.

Now, according to Comixology itself, issue 1 is released in print on 26th December alongside the digital…

Does the Doctor have superpowers now then (apart from regeneration, time sensitivity etc.)? ‘Cos he looks more Doctor Strange than Doctor Who in that cover art.

Swooshy hand – wavy temporal energy abilities, oooooo.

I’m guessing this will be later released in Graphic Novel form since it kinda counts as a mini series of its own

Not interested if it’s not a physical release. You can’t poly bag or slab a thumb drive assuming you can even download the thing. Titan wants my money they can release product in the format I want.

I agree, if Titan cannot publish a physical copy, I’m not wasting my money on it. Also still waiting for Titan to publish Twelfth Doctor year two #9 cover D (Byrnes cover) and ninth doctor #5 GFTG variant to finish my runs!

@Darby. I’m not even going to justify that short-sighted comment with a response. According to the TARDIS Data Core wiki, each issue is only 16 pages which is shorter than the page count for the regular issues, so I’m assuming Titan will do the smart thing and release the whole thing as a graphic novel. If not, well they don’t get my money or that of a lot of other people. If you want to stay in business you provide product in a format people want. Even Netflix releases its shows on DVD.

I’d rather the latter of those two options – shelling out £0.69 for digital issues isn’t nearly as much of a sacrifice as £100s for a convention ticket.

As for why they’re starting as digital only, I’d assume it’s because they’re designed to be read as such – they often rely on the digital comic player’s transitions to help tell the story in a unique, video-esque way that can’t quite be conveyed in printed form (both Marvel and DC have experimented with this digital-only format and it usually works wonders if you’re reading it on a phone or tablet).

Presumably this either means that the Ghost survives this Sunday’s episode with his powers intact (rather than having them removed during the climax and reverting back to a normal human being sans costume) or that there’s a window of time where he and the Doctor travel together a la the Eleventh Doctor, Kazran and Abigail in “A Christmas Carol” or the Twelfth and River (sort of) in “The Husbands of River Song”.
