I got that for Christmas a few years ago. Happy that it contains Pyramids of Mars, as I don’t have the official DVD of that, haven’t watched it yet however it’s very generous for the BBC and 2Entertain to have that as an extra.

I’d like to see a theme release as with the Dr Who DVD’s. ‘old friends’ would be good where we have a disc set featuring the 10 & 11 Dr stories, along with the one with the Brig in it. I’m not interested in the whole series, just the Who related episodes.

My boyfriend got me this set for valentines day, seriously it’s the best present ever. I also bought series 1-5 separately due to my kinda OCD about SJA/DW dvds. regardless of that, all of them are absolutely great 😀

Can you confirm what sort of packaging it is – does each season have it’s own case?

    • Mickey

      February 22nd, 2012 - 1:28pm

Packaging is great, it’s like a multi dvd thing? like a book it’s got a page kinda thing, like each page has it’s own disk. All the dvds are in this one big case thing. I probably haven’t described it well but yeah 🙂

    • Mickey

      February 22nd, 2012 - 1:31pm

How can you say it’s boring? It’s to show just her, when you take off the case, you see her on the back with all 5 of them.

      March 3rd, 2012 - 11:34am

the cover should have all 5 of them

    • Mickey

      March 5th, 2012 - 2:09pm

It shouldn’t I like the idea of just Sarah Jane on it and the monsters. If you take the sleeve/case thing off you have all 5 of them on one side.

It was originally planned to have The Doctor give Sky to her, but was later changed to be the Shopkeeper to give more of a mystery about the character, having already being introduced in Lost in Time

I emailed 2 entertain and they said since series 1-2 were not filmed in HD they not in a format that will allow them to release them on Blu-ray but I emailed them again saying they are in a format that can be released on Blu-ray because the Blu-ray Doctor Specials contains The Next Doctor which was filmed in SD but the Upscaled it for Blu-ray.

Then emailed me back saying we have no plans.

I don’t see why they have not released Series 3 on Blu-ray since it was filmed in HD.

Included on the release will be a special documentary which is called Goodbye Bannerman Road, Remembering Elisabeth Sladen. It serves as a tribute to the late actress, who sadly passed away in April last year, with contributions from those who worked closely with her, including the Eleventh Doctor actor Matt Smith.
