Yes that is true but it is nice to have them all together (hopefully it will include Invasion Of The Bane) and also it will get cheaper over time it’s just because it is a new release.

    • Tardis Manic

      December 29th, 2011 - 12:00pm

although it is £3 cheaper i think people would rather pay more and get all five series together in one box.

  • MasterKasterborous

    December 28th, 2011 - 11:41pm

I hope this features all the bonus features from the previous releases and ‘Invasion Of The Bane’. I will wait until it is out an then read some reviews an then make my decision.

Wouldnt bother waiting for a blu ray release. Series 1 and 2 werent recorded in hd. They could upscale it but it wont do much
differnce to it. Plus the bbc have said they have no plans at this time to release blu ray of the first 3 series. (4 and 5 have already been released in blu ray)

I agree. Don’t know why they put a dark horde warrior at the top cause it was only ever seen in one episode for about 2 minutes. Shame its not very good 🙁

The Dark Horde warrior is also on the series 4 boxset. All the monsters shown have featured on a boxset as well.

The ‘Complete’ Collection, would imply that Invasion of the Bane is part of this set. Maybe it counts as a Special Feature because it is a Special.

I have all the series that have been released so far and invasion of the bane was also included on the compleate series one DVD so I imagine it will be included there on the boxset too! 🙂 xx

  • Judooning

    December 28th, 2011 - 6:14pm

My guess as to why they have not included ‘Invasion of the Bane’ is because they released this DVD seperatley years ago and it was the only SJA episode that was released seperatley on DVD. So in a way, it’s a tactical way to make us buy that seperate DVD.

it has invasion of the bane because there is 12 discs
series one box set – 4 discs
series two box set – 3 discs
series three set – 2 discs
series four set – 2 discs
series five set – 1 disc
= 12 discs. Invasion of the Bane is on it.

Slightly off subject, but how come classic stories are never released on blu-ray

    • booboo

probably as there would be very little benefit i would imagine

      December 29th, 2011 - 9:42am

Going by the picture quality of pyramids of mars on the SJA series 4 blu ray there wasntmuch improvement. I think they wont do it as restoration to blu ray quality wont be cost effective. They cost too much compared with how much they sell ie they wont make any money off it.

I currently own series 1-4 of SJA (with series 5 on pre-order) but, even though this doesn’t feature Invasion Of The Bane, it’s still a nice set for those who don’t have them all. Just like the audio collection which I’ve just started listening to. 🙂

I bought series 1-3 on dvd, didnt bother with series 4 as i heard about the sad passing of the great Sladen, so i knew they would release a boxset, i hope its in the same vein as the series 1-4 Doctor Who set, cuz it would look stunning, maybe have an outline of Mister Smith on the front, a few well known artifacts on the back with a shiny Sarah Jane Smith logo on sides and lid!
