Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

A Collectible, of any kind, is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it. I think £15 is a worthy price for a War Doctor figure 🙂

    So… tempted… to get this…

But seeing as I am not a figure collector myself – and only have certain figures for sentimental reasons, I think I’ll pass! Let somebody else have one!

To be honest I don’t think there was much to wait for… Nobody knew if this figure would come back into stock… £33 is pretty cheap compared to what over people were paying and boohoo is right… Low supply, big demand

Were you an international customer? As in Are you from the UK and got it Imported from Australia?
If so, did you have to pay any customs charges?

If my mums brothers son would do it for me as I don’t do online shopping my dad doesn’t do it. Neither does mum. But I wouldn’t mind as my mum known that I really wanted this set as she loves John Hurt aswell as Smith. But yeah she loved him in Merlin doing the voice of the Dragon. Hope they get a restock over here. In forbidden planet international. Err! I should’ve picked it up why I had the chance. Sodding Heck! I should’ve but I bought a 11th dr 3.75inch instead and I had the money to buy the war doctor but one of my mates changed my mind.

I’m a bit gutted that in when in July the time of the doctor set was announced I wanted to pick up that set & then the war doctor to make a 5″ DOTD display, so paid £45 for a War doctor from the USA. Wish now I had waited a bit and saved £15 🙁

I just got mine today and it was so worth the money and came like a week early 🙂 I love the detail and even though the Paul McGann head doesn’t suit it I still want a Dark Eyes and Night of the Doctor figure based off of the head, maybe make the hair longer but im not to bothered

I was against it at first DalekAgent, but at the end of the day, it is two doctors, and it is a great figure. I think get it while you can, as the price will only rise!

    • Ollie

      September 8th, 2014 - 5:19pm

But the price has fallen. This was selling on eBay for £50-60 a couple of weeks ago. They’re only worth as much depending on how easy they are to purchase. For example, Dalek Collectors Set 2 used to sell for over £100 on eBay about 4-5 years ago and now you can pick up from shops like B&M Bargains and Home Bargains for a tenner due to massive restocks in UK warehouses. I reckon War Doctor re-stocks are due in UK very soon now.

    • booboo

      September 8th, 2014 - 5:27pm

i suspect the ebay and Amazon sellers have imported on mass from the USA when they got the last batch which has made the price drop.

same thing happened with the 3.75″ chase figures when you could buy them in the US “at Will” and now the price is really low here because so many were imported

its just a gamble if you want to wait and see if FP get anymore

    • Ollie

      September 8th, 2014 - 6:31pm

You’re absolutely right about the “gamble” Booboo. Ordered mine from the US on eBay for £29 and 2 days later you can buy in England for £33. The prices of some of the classic figures online are being seriously inflated (e.g. Davros / Emperor Dalek, City of Death, Fourth Doctor TARDIS) because you can’t order them from FB anymore.

    • RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND

      September 9th, 2014 - 6:47pm

Booboo is it likely they would? That would really annoy me!

    • booboo

      September 9th, 2014 - 6:51pm

anything is likely – but as many people are starting to realise its gamble

I have said many times UT are in control of these items so only they can tell you if they have any available for FP and more to the point if FP have bought them.

I ordered one last Thursday 28th August from Radar Toys ebay store in the US for £29.09 (including shipping) at the time of purchase and it arrived safe & sound this morning (Thursday 4th September) in the UK! So glad that no additional customs and handling charges were incurred as that was a concern but had a otherwise smooth experience buying from Radar Toys!
