Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

Ridiculous prices on Amazon, but don’t despair as America have got it in stock! hallelujah!
Oh well if America’s getting new stock, maybe the UK too…

no idea UT aren’t forthcoming with any information

pot luck if we get more stocks in the Uk but no one will tell us if they are expected anyway

we will be sure to keep our eyes open

If FP were getting more stock there is no reason why it would not be up for pre order already

I think they should make a card or something for Doctor Who fans so when a new item comes out they can go and get it without all the people who aren’t even interested in the figure but just know that if they buy a bulk of them they can double their money on each one, I’m sick of missing out and either not getting or not having enough to pay what these guys want, there should be some thing you have to do to prove your a fan to get the card so they cant just get one laso why the hell are they selling them to individuals in bulk.

That’s hardly fair, how do you test a ‘true’ fan? Some little kid wants to have one because he likes Doctor Who and he can’t because he can’t remember which aliens live in the Medusa Cascade ect?

Looks more like a case of blaming your problems on everyone else. These were available for pre order a long time in advance, and still remained in stock for months afterwards. It was released as a limited edition figure and it somehow took you this long to try to buy one?

These still haven’t been anywhere near Scotland yet. FP Glasgow claim not to know anything about when they should be in stock and when I get them to ring stores in London, they claim that it’s not actually supposed to be out yet and officially they were supposed to come out this summer

Weird. Particularly as it’s FP Scotland/International who started fulfilling online orders first. Maybe they allocated all/most of their stock to the website and didn’t anticipate the demand for the figure?

If you take it out of the box, even if you put it back in, it’s officially a loose figure and doesn’t retain it’s value.

If you remove it from packaging, it costs you whatever the difference in price will be between loose and MIB if you ever decide to sell it, but what’s the point of it if you’re not going to open and enjoy it? It’ll be worth a lot either way so you might as well. 😛

Depends where you’re getting it from and how much you’re paying for it.

      It’s a good figure, but it’s not worth 50 quid PLUS P&P.

It’s a good figure but i don’t think there’s anything special about it. Because people say ” oh it’s a epic figure best one ever made!” I bet if the doctor who figures never shrunk people wouldn’t be going mad about it. It’s no better than any other doctor who figure.

I can honestly say the moment device is easily the best and most detailed accessory I’ve ever had. But like you, I’ve never been too keen on the actual figure.

    • The Living Shadow

      April 21st, 2014 - 5:07pm

I think he’s the best 5″ figure, he really stands out detail wise next to all the other doctors and monsters!

    • joe gould

      April 21st, 2014 - 5:38pm

someone here asked if they’re going to bring the 5 inch figures back but someone said no but will they make more like this, i mean a special figure at a random time? Such as peter capaldi or matt smith series 7 figure.

    • Dalek1234

      April 21st, 2014 - 5:51pm

now I think about it Danny it isn’t realy that good I mean I have like 50 figures and it dosnt stand out it just looks like any other 5 inch figure! but the moment is ace!

    • George

      May 2nd, 2014 - 10:04am

It really is a fantastic figure though, even if this wasn’t rare I’d have to agree that it’s well made.

The articulation is perfect (not so stiff that it causes paint problems or worries about breaking parts, while not being so loose as to cause problems with standing and posing).

The heads pop on and off really easily while staying securely in, seems like contradictory statements but it’s true, best head swapping figure I’ve seen.

The detail is fantastic, lots of little bits finely moulded and The Moment is fantastic.

    • The Living Shadow

      May 2nd, 2014 - 10:19am

He does stand out on display for me, I mean the detail is great on this figure- even the trousers have had additional paint layers added for more depth, also the articulation is great, as is the likeness to John Hurt!

  • Likethisdayofthedoctor

    April 21st, 2014 - 9:34am

Right now, there is only one left on amazon .co.uk – £39.99
    FP .co.uk – sold out
    FP .com – sold out
Whona – sold out (well it says so on the website)
Entertainment earth – ‘temporarily’ sold out
    Popcultcha – sold out
And ebay has some horrific prices.

FP .com…it’s almost like the page on this figure doesn’t exist anymore. So they don’t stock it.

WHY ARE THEY ALL IN LONDON!!!!

Balakin, it’s not my saftey, it’s because i had to
see my brother and his girl friend and that is not
close to the centre of london. But i’ll look in cambridge forbidden planet see if i can find one,
      but i doubt i will.

Why wouldn’t she let you go? It’s a nice place 🙂 Maybe ask her to go with you if she is worried about your safety or something.
FP is your best bet now if you don’t want to pay over 30-40 pounds for it online.

I donno how old are you, maybe she is just worried about your safety? MAybe aks her to go with you? Or another relative or friend?
It’s just strange to me, it’s a shop, not a club or something, and it’s not in a bad neighborhood either.
Just check google maps, it’s an 11 minutes walk from Charing cross.
And tell her that it’s your best and cheapest option to get this excellent figure.

They Should Remake the 11 Doctors Set. Make it 14 Doctors set. Just the 11 Doctors set with Peter Capaldi,John Hurt and Peter Crushing. All in 5 inch.

Cushing would probably have rights issues since the movies aren’t owned by the BBC, but the others should work well.

Cushing is not in continuity, he was not the Doctor, he was called Doctor Who, a human, not an alien and his 2 movies were remakes of 2 Hartnell stories.
Watch any stories where they show all previous Doctors (you know, like Day of the Doctor?). He is not included.
That said, a new set would be cool, maybe after or during series 8 and it could include a 5inch 11th Doctor with his purple coat.
Probably wont happen as CO is making enough money on the cheaper 3.75 inch line, so why bother with the 5inch figures?

Maybe eventually they will make a new 13 Doctors, Tardis package set, but with the 3.75 figures. I say that would probably happen sometime in the future, it would make sense (and money)
But that doesn’t interest me at all.
