“The final end…?” Demon Records presents a narrated full-cast TV soundtrack adventure starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, in which the Daleks lay a trap in Victorian England for their oldest enemy. In this classic 7 part ‘lost’ adventure, first shown on BBC TV between May and July 1967, the Daleks are in search of the Human Factor. What’s more, they intend to use the Doctor and his TARDIS to assist them in their quest for universal domination! Featuring a climactic battle on their home world of Skaro, the story also introduces Deborah Watling as the Doctor’s new companion, Victoria. Presented across 4 x Heavyweight 180g pieces of vinyl in Skaro Swirl, this narrated TV soundtrack evokes another classic Doctor Who adventure in all its aural magnificence.

From the eerie sonics of Ron Grainer & Delia Derbyshire’s theme tune, and the familiar ‘wheezing, groaning’ of the TARDIS, through to the sounds of alien time technology and the terrifying roar of the Dalek Emperor, the story is alive with weird and wonderful sound. Written by David Whitaker, this was the Daleks’ final explosive TV adventure of the 1960s. Linking narration is provided by Frazer Hines (Jamie) and the cast includes Marius Goring as Theodore Maxtible, John Bailey as Edward Waterfield, Brigit Forsyth as Ruth Maxtible and Windsor Davies as Toby. The film recordings of all but one episode of this story are lost from the BBC archives. LP1 is presented with a unique Emperor Dalek laser etched reverse. Dummedy-dum, Dummedy-dum, Dummedy-dum, Dum-dum…

Strangely, I got an e-mail newsletter from Demon Records a few days back and – unless they have got it the wrong way round – they said the Amazon Exclusive ‘swirl’ version was in a run of 1000 and the standard red vinyl version was 500 – making the so-called ‘normal’ one rarer. I’ve bought a couple of Amazon exclusives in the past couple of years (including the Hitchhikers vinyls, and a couple of music box sets, usually the ‘extra’ is a free signed print) and those were in every case a 500-run.

Not getting the Amazon one. (I don’t have Master Plan but I want the Amazon set) The deluxe standard one is more appealing to me. If only the deluxe standard for Masterplan was orange (like the splatter) than a purple-ish blue. This one isn’t a splatter so that’s my preference.

Great album cover! I hope somehow Phillip Morris could recover ‘The Evil of the Daleks’ somewhere. That is my most wanted missing story.

I have already said how Lovely this is on the General news image. So wont repeat myself.

I have a friend, who has a Star wars soundtrack album , that has a Hologram image, that hovers above the record when it plays (GiYF) .

I wonder if at somme point These releases (power anyone) Dalek invasion of Earth ,yes please. Could have the Tardis or a Dalek floating.

Not sure how much more expensive it is to do this,or even how this works. but it does look very cool.

I presume you mean the second version, the CD release from the 2000’s that had a fuller narration from frazer Hines? It’s now been confirmed that that is the version released here.
