The dvd covers for the new series haven’t been outstanding this year, they all seem to consist of promotional images.

exactly, what happened to random characters and objects that appear in the volume pressed against a background with a texture used in the tardis surrounding it? i thought they’d go back to that after series 6

Aaaarrrgggghhh!!! Oh blimey what’s happened? The king where is he? He’s gone and I’m his replacement? NO I’m not his replacement I am him. He, no I, started out as such a beginner but now the weevil king has gone??? And he’s been replaced by a character from a doctor who book???!?? Oh well that’s regeneration for you. Actually it’s username regeneration totally different to regeneration. Anyway you may or may not know but apparently the BBC losing £50,000 was made up by the sun according to DWMs Twitter page. Still hoping it’s on the DVD though

    • Admiral Icktheus

      December 5th, 2011 - 4:53pm

My name originates from Doctor Who 2in1 books 3: Alien adventures. It features the stories The Underwater War(which I’m in!!!) and Rain Of Terror. I’m a fish by the war and there’s colour changes and colour changing experiments and other various things I can’t remember because I read the book in August so ya know? Anyway I may have a quick skim through the book to let you know more facts hang on just a-ow oh no I’ve fallen over a pencil. Oh it’s ok all I did was get a small cut it’s glowing and so is my username. What? Not again!!!

There was mention recently of a brand new episode of Doctor Who Confidential which was filmed for this years Christmas Special but will not be broadcast for some stupid reason. Rather then not show it, why not make it as a DVD extra when the Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe comes to DVD ? . . . . seriously, did it not occur to anyone at the BBC ? . . . . clearly not, the flipping muppets 😛

I don’t know how much of the christmas special confidential got but I believe they filmed almost two weeks of the Christmas special confidential before the show was stupidly axed!

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      December 4th, 2011 - 9:35am

Well I found out about it from the Sun Newspaper, and it seems they filmed an entire episode of Confidential for this Christmas. That’s not an entire episode [ and the time and money spent on it ] down the drain. They should just release it as a bonus extra when this episode comes to DVD, at least it will make those who want Confidential back happy to watch a new episode.

    • Jason doctorwhoone

      December 4th, 2011 - 9:35am

That’s an entire episode I mean, didin’t mean to include ” not ” in that bit, my bad.

    • King of the weevils

      December 4th, 2011 - 10:09am

Yes I read about it in the sun too (but they’re not always right! Remember when they said matt smith would leave after series six? That was back in July 2010 yet he’s still in the show) and it’s briefly mentioned in DWM 441. They say it’s not Christmas without The Doctor but I say it’s not Christmas without confidential wrapping up the day! At least if they actually put the Christmas episode on the DVD I’ll have something to look forward too!

    • King of the weevils

      December 4th, 2011 - 10:39am

When I said about the sun not always being right I was talking about them saying they filmed a whole episode

    • Anonymous

      December 4th, 2011 - 10:44am

by not showing it, they have wasted £50,000 of tax payers money. OUR MONEY!!!

    • King of the weevils

      December 4th, 2011 - 1:50pm

And that £50,000 could have helped fund our favourite tv show doctor who. It’s a shame hearing what confidential wanted to do such as A live episode and all sorts like behind the scenes of the 50th anniversary

    • BOOBOO JR

      December 4th, 2011 - 8:40pm

Apparantly there was only 10 minutes of footage. But I also found that it might be put up online.

      December 4th, 2011 - 9:31pm

There was something on Points of View about this today – look it up on bbci player – it’s an interview with the director of bbc3 .

    • King of the weevils

      December 4th, 2011 - 9:35pm

Yeah I saw the points of view clip on YouTube with Zai Bennett, new BBC Three controller who axed the show, and I was shocked. Surely confidential got more. They were almost two weeks into filming the special when confidential was axed and there was only ten minutes of footage recorded!?!? There must have been more. There are now only two good shows on BBC Three and they are Russell Howards Good News and Family Guy. There are probably a few more good shows on there as well but most of them are stereotypical ones.

American Dad, Family Guy and Dr WHo Confidentail, amybe gavin adn Stacey. The rest is complete trash that I never watch, not least of which is that despicable comedy show Mongrels, which isn’t atall funny or clever. 😛

  • the TARDIS

    December 3rd, 2011 - 9:20pm

I hope that they include all these as special features:
1: The Comic Relief special – some people don’t wait until November to get the series when they can get it in October.
2: the Children in Need special
3: the canned Christmas Confidential – if it exists but has been cut they could at least give us a chance to see it on DVD. though to make more money they would probably release it on a seperate DVD as the Lost Confidential.

The thing I’m wondering is will they include the Christmas episode of confidential? considering the BBC lost £50,000 because they never knew about the fact that it had been made untill now and won’t bother to show it on Christmas Day. It would be a nice extra, but I doubt it’ll be on there
