Another audio :/ The BBC has disappointed me with no new past-doctor book this year as well.

I believe this is also available in book form, this is just the page for the Audiobook version.

In saying that, I agree. I’m really disappointed we aren’t getting a Past Doctor book, not since In the Blood. We have Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen coming out early next year, which I guess sorta counts? But it’s also an adaptation of an unmade story rather than anything original, and it’s using the Fourth Doctor which we’ve already had a book for previously within the last few years.

Like I expected, it’s full of the usual dull companions. I wish they’d be a bit more imaginative but I suppose these are the ones that sell. I’m suprised that Sarah Jane is in there though, even though it’s still a really obvious choice.

DoctorSong2018 notice the bit about the release tying in with International Women’s Day – so it sounds like this wasn’t just a ‘companions’ project for the sake of being just about a free choice of companion to include.

Gareth Pugh – I mean while I’m not bitter about the four companion choices picked, I think my argument would be that there are plenty of female companions to choose from than just the three big modern ones (one for each Doctor) and the one Classic Companion that showed up in Modern Who as well. There’s plenty of other companions in Classic that could’ve been picked.

Maybe each writer chose their favourite companion.

they are going to chose whoever the public at large are most familiar with to help sell the book basically
