The Dalek Project Graphic Novel

Doctor Who The Dalek Project

By Justin Richards

1917: The Great War is at its fiercest and most terrible.

But things are about to get even worse.

Armaments manufacturer Lord Hellcombe has a new secret weapon he believes will win the war.

But when the Doctor witnesses the final demonstration he begins to realize how much danger everyone is in: Lord Hellcombe claims to have invented the Dalek! Except, of course, that nothing is quite what it seems.

Now, the Doctor and his new friends must draw on every type of early 20th century technology and every element of human ingenuity and bravery if they are to discover the truth – and survive – to prevent the entire Western Front of World War One from becoming part of The Dalek Project!

      Yes, it’s very good.

The story’s quite alright too. Not as good as The Only Good Dalek, but still quite strong. πŸ™‚

That is the correct term for them, but you can also call them “Bronze Daleks”.

I like the design, and am more fond of it than EVER now that I’ve been annoyed at how pathetic and unthreatening the colourful design is.

It will be nice to have a GOOD Dalek story for once.

Ofcourse, the season opener is a Dalek story but it’s too early for me to say if it will be good or not. I reckon it will be called “Tomb of the Daleks”. πŸ˜‰

You do know it’s been confirmed as ‘Asylum of the Daleks’?

I found out afew weeks ago, yes. I was pretty close, but never expected it to be ASYLUM of the Daleks.

These must (possibly) be Daleks that have been defeated and imprisoned while alive, but who could do such a thing ? ❗ I’m intrigued

I am so pleased. Been waiting for this ever since the Dalek Handbook cane out, and read about it. Yes, originally envisaged as a 10th doctor story. And I am so glad the big plastic doll Daleks aren’t going to be in it, but Time War ones. But variants from the classic series would have suited as well. Great, great, great. That was the in my view truly horrific thing with the only good dalek: a story with lots of things from classic stories (think of for example the ogrons) but with these new daleks. That just didn’t fit very wel.

      June 28th, 2012 - 8:52am

Well this comic was going to be published until “Victory of the Daleks” came, so being set in WWI with a scientist claiming he invented the Daleks was too similar. But then again why does the Doctor meet the Daleks in order, being a time traveller? Or these Daleks could just been other survivors of the Time War. Anyway what ever it is i look forward to reading it.

      June 28th, 2012 - 10:39pm

Thats why I like your name Bazinga :). And Dalek sec that might be the case. Let’s hope it’s not too similar and it turns out the inventors a robot who’s actually a bomb :S.

OMG this was ment to come out in Tennant’s last year but it was too similar to Victory of the Daleks so they have obviously postponed it nd changed it to suit Matt Smith! I remembered it last week and was looking into it so it’s great to see it is coming out!!

This was orginally meant to be a Tenth Doctor story released in 2009, but it was cancelled most likely because of it’s similarities to Victory of the Daleks. πŸ™‚ I’m glad it’s being released for the Eleventh Doctor though. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a reference to Victory of the Daleks. πŸ™‚
