Isn’t it that aftershow that was on after the Doctor Falls that everyone thought would have the Thirteenth Doctor announcement in?

I really want to get this but I’m wondering whether I should wait and see if there will be a UK release first before I buy it, anyone got any advice? Does anyone know if there is likely to be a UK release, and if not is the US release likely to sell out quickly?

US got the David Tennant Years and Matt Smith years
10th in 2011 and 11th in 2014, UK got the 10th in 2014. Australia got none. So you might get the Matt Smith years this year and the Peter Capaldi years 3 years later.
Don’t know why it works that way…

Lets not forget the COMPLETE DAVID TENNANT YEARS was in the same format BUT only released on DVD and not Blu Ray. Perhaps they hadn’t done the upscaling conversion yet that was later to be released on the Blu Rays. Heck, I’ll be buying this regardless of whether it will play in a UK player or not!

As for the 4K debate, dream on guys, it will be a while before we see Dr Who in 4K.

To put it in perspective, the new STAR WARS film (The Last Jedi) will the first SW film to have a 4K release so expect DW to be well behind the trend on that.

What do you think the odds are of seeing rereleases of S8,9 & 10 in the style of the S1-7 and Specials rereleases?

I know the earlier series have been released to death by now, but I think the time is right for a Series 1-10 box set.

Agreed! Preferably one where certain features have been fixed as well as new ones, and why not chuck in the 10th Doctor animated specials in there too!

If I bought this would it play in the UK, I thought blue ray was region free? Tbh I already have them on steelbook and DVDs, only really interested in the bonus features.

It seems a lot will stick with Blu-Ray for now even though thats passe. Time for BBC worldwide to take a step forward and Roll with 4K releases now that series 11 is becoming more filmic.

I can’t see that happening anytime soon. Doctor Who has some great CGI these days (Villengard looked absolutely stunning) but I don’t know how much of it could stand the test of 4K.

    • Jordan Scott

      January 5th, 2018 - 10:49pm

It would be incredible if 4K is one of the factors that they were referring to with the whole “new lenses and cinematic look” thing for S11.

and those Special Features better be Behind the Science documentary’s (not fan show), and deleted scenes

    • booboo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 2:15pm

you can do that anytime, just turn down the colour on your TV set/ monitor

    • Jordan Scott

      January 2nd, 2018 - 3:47pm

I mean there were apparently Cybermen on set of the Snow Cap base, however none of that appeared in the final cut. So there better be loads of deleted scenes.

It’s more than just turning the colour down on your tv. To quote the director of Logan who did a noir version: “To make a great B&W version of a film, the whole thing’s gotta be regraded & timed shot by shot.In convert to b&w , one must determine which hues go dark/ light, adjust contrast, blacks. Turning down color on tv just makes gray mush….”

not on mine, looks fine, tried it.increased the contrast a tad certainly wouldn’t want all that expense (into the £1000’s probably) put into another disc.

I meant the Clara pic on the disc cover, its from journey to the centre of the TARDIS. But it’s also stupid to have Oswin on the box as well

Because it’s 2018. Who in their right mind would watch standard definition when you can watch in high definition instead? It’s like choosing VHS over DVD.
